- Bomaz, on 11/11/2008, -0/+3May I recommend Adblock Plus? It systematically removes ads from most webpages, often you'll never even know that they were there. Don't know how I could surf without it.
It really makes the sites better - AntifruStration, on 11/11/2008, -0/+2second the adblock I work with it and it proves to be a great app
- arichard, on 11/11/2008, -0/+2This article would have been more effective in a 5 page slideshow format.
- ScottMcIntyre, on 11/11/2008, -0/+2I really hate websites which require you to register before you can view the story. My other pet hates are the full page ads that come up - and ask you to either wait and endure them or click to go straight to story. Cut out the delay -just give me the content!
- envec, on 11/11/2008, -0/+1even the WSJ could not keep up with annoying the users to that level indeed
- migcmc03, on 11/21/2008, -0/+1WOW! No surprises here, controlled by greed! I can't stand those Pop-up subscribe ads bloggers use! Get over yourself!
- XTCinOvaltine, on 11/12/2008, -0/+1FTA:
1. Breaking stories in many different pages to increase the number of impressions
2.Using splash pages with ads
3.Not linking to the sources or mentioned websites
4.Using pop-up ads
5.Requiring registration to access the content - shame126, on 11/12/2008, -0/+1ORLY haha I like that.
But yeah one kind of site which I really detest these days are those that requires me to load a huge introductory flash. Gah - doiveo, on 11/12/2008, -0/+1“Did I just type businessweek.com or *****.com?" lol
- tacojohn48, on 11/12/2008, -0/+1It does get confusing though when someone says a story continues after the break and there isn't one
- HiImFromReddit, on 11/11/2008, -1/+1Missing one: Resizing my ***** browser window.
- freezemachine11, on 11/12/2008, -0/+0how about pop-under ads?
I think those are the most annoying of all
