- DivineLackey, on 10/10/2007, -0/+19Best lists are clear and (the important part)concise, not just immensely huge.
Also some of how it is stated is ridiculous. 8 pownce rivals.... if anything pownce is a rival of twitter. Since when did twitter lose its status as the one to be compared to in that field? - gomr, on 10/10/2007, -3/+0So many great lists, thanks
- aqzman, on 10/10/2007, -4/+2Am I the only one who found "6 Alternatives To Digg - Digg isn’t the only site out there to allow you to vote on stories." ironic?
- j3company, on 10/10/2007, -5/+0Good lookout.
Keep building...... - consonance, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7At this point, this is the entirety of knowledge known to Digg.
- macaddct1984, on 10/10/2007, -3/+21"6 Alternatives To Digg"? Blasphemy!
- DivineLackey, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Why because digg is perfect? lol.
- TheSpore, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I tried them all out. They all suck because of a lack of users, spam, or because they aren't really rivals of Digg. I realize Digg has some problems but it really is the best the Internet has right now for a user-driven news site.
- Rhymenoceros, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1that is it?

- rootstyle, on 10/10/2007, -1/+61993 called, it wants its World Wide Web navigated via giant lists back. Search engines, they're not that hard to use people.
- maygle, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0rootstyle, what about '... via giant lists shoulder' :)
More often than not, a site reversion again and again just for a little improvement.
- maygle, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0rootstyle, what about '... via giant lists shoulder' :)
- andrgo, on 10/10/2007, -3/+4I like how most programs are for Mac Os and Linux. Sorry for not being a code-munching nerd, but I've used Windows the last 12 years and so do the majority of computer users.
- andrgo, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Oh no I got dugg down! I offended ze nerdos, no!!
Rofl, some people take ***** way too seriously.- Archeologist, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I think you are the one taking things too seriously. I use Windows too, but I don't go around calling every Linux/Mac user a "code-munching nerd." It's an operating system, not your life.
- spargett, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yeah, but you kinda have to go into Digg with the understanding that there's a solid user base of Mac/Linux users. Not the other way around, which you're prob used to.
- andrgo, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Oh no I got dugg down! I offended ze nerdos, no!!
- weezere, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13Next Up: 100,000,000 ways to extract information from top 5,000 lists
- Clay423, on 10/10/2007, -0/+113 Must-See Google Maps Mashups??
There are thousands, and those 13 are complete CRAP compared to what I and others have put together....HA - eltrev, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1Too. Much. Information. I stop by Mashable daily, but I never read these compilation lists - no time for it. 5 thousand "everything" ... what? give me a break.
- scrag10, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I now know 15 ways to get a screen shot...
- hiscity, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Cool! 45 WebOS sites, more or less.... now if I can just figure out one that works well with my Palm TX...
- Sabretou, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1A strange irony is that this itself is an interesting resource to use if you ever need a resource.
- eagle12, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1This is a great resource and worthy of anyones bookmarks. Thanks to whoever took the time to compile this list.
- PaxAmerica, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Thanks!!
- BooYaKaSha113, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0You know what would be really useful? Instead of 487 download managers, or 684 ways to check my email, evaluate and give us the 5 or 10 worthwhile ones, and reasons why. How is listing every possible alternative useful to anybody? Why not just do a Google search? Assholes...
- Woknblues, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1for christ sakes stop bitching. there are 9 categories, so feel free to avoid the areas that you don't care about, then you can use their recommended sites to detail your search. I have bookmarked this page, and use it about once a month, and rarely finish after 15 minutes of finding something very interesting or useful. Many of these apps are similar, just styled differently (like the flow charts for instance) your personal preference can decide what you want to use. I don't see where all the anger is coming from, and the comments that 5,000 is too many tells me that you didn't RTFA, so just go away if you don't like it. for the "just google search" proponents, I defy you to type in "school organizer" and actually find a class/homework scheduler. you will get 18 million hits about various models of trapper keepers.
- spargett, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Surprisingly well organized. I expecting to see the usual overwhelming mash-up of hundreds of 'resources' to more 'resources'.
- Digisphere, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Thats a huge list!
- iphoner, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0exhaustive but nice list
- accordjazz, on 01/11/2008, -1/+1That's great find
