there are plenty of people on that site that make upwards of $10,000 a month from their websites, and i highly doubt they are bigtime websites - kelp, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9Here's the thing, you are only one person. For every person that doesn't see the ads, there are usually 100 that do. This varies depending on the audience. Of course on a site for nerds, there will be at least 30% of people that block ads. For sites with old people, I doubt many of them know what Adblock is. The average click rate(CTR) for Adsense is usually 3%-5%. $.50 a cent, so I guess an average could be $2.50 for every hundred people. With a little promotion of your site, you can get 400 visitors a day. What's that, $10 a day. Not that much, but it'll pay the bills.

It's really not that much, but it's better than not putting ads on your page and missing out on the money. You'd be surprised how many crappy sites get $20 a day from Adsense. Ones you'd never think would get it(I mean, they are craptastic, it's just that they rank so well in search engines because there's no competition).
