I've seen 20,000+ seeds, yes seeds for an anime called BLEACH. - joshpowell, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4graemee, how many were MPAA?

The episodes of said anime are not yet liscensed in the US (the series is, but the current episodes are not) , so the MPAA has no jurisdiction here. It was a fansub. - justwan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2@logicallygenius
I hate seeing scene releases on torrents ; - jbeezer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@justwan
I couldn't agree with you more, the blurring line between the scene and torrents is bad for all parties involved. - dougmc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1`so the MPAA has no jurisdiction here'
Does the MPAA really have jurisdiction *anywhere*? They're not a governmental organization, and don't get to enforce law *anywhere*, in spite of appearances to the contrary.

- indyinno, on 10/12/2007, -10/+1Here is a simple solution to stream hundreds of Free Television channels from around the world on to your desktop/laptop monitor -
http://indyank.blogspot.com/2007/02/enjoy-free-streaming-television-on-your.html - topside, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9http://tvrss.net/ - Load these RSS feeds straight into uTorrent for automatic downloading of your favorite shows as they come out.
- MikeWeller, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It rocked about 2 months ago. But the problem with providing such an extensive list of links to youtube/dailymotion is that people like the BBC can send mass removal-notices and half the links end up dead.
- straxus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"http://tvrss.net/ - Load these RSS feeds straight into uTorrent for automatic downloading of your favorite shows as they come out."
Better yet, load them into Democracy Player.
- liquidcola, on 10/12/2007, -23/+8Turn on your TV?

- juneau, on 10/12/2007, -6/+6Buried. Good lord thats a lot of ads.

- swazooe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3what ads?
- brhad56, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I'm assuming he's talking about the pop-ups that firefox blocks. Silly IE user.
- BevansDesign, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1That TED one looks interesting. Has anyone used it? I was using the EZTV site's "My Shows" RSS feed to easily find torrents for my favorite shows, but they recently shut that down. This TED looks like it could be a replacement, but I don't want another goofy program running in the background all the time. Can anyone recommend it, or point me in the direction of something else?
- 16777216, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1TED is good. A little buggy for me maybe not for you but, good none the less. ( and Linux compatible if you run it without tray support. java -jar ted.jar -Dtray=0 from the command line. I am sure you could make a shortcut icon with this command as well. )
- zumie, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Forgot using newgroups. Can use http://www.newzbin.com/browse/cat/p/tv/ to find them.

Probably the biggest i've ever seen.. - Legato, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5this is all great and all... but all i really want is an internet tv station.... i don't even care if there are ads or not, i just want something to turn on and flip through channels, all the while NOT subscribing to any sort of cable TV packages.
i not only really hope joost takes off, but i hope more people come on board - rkuchiki, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1The title, not mentioning IPTV, just begs for:
1) Obviously turn on your TV. - thereisnospoon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8http://tvrss.net/
- Zeuser, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Love TVRSS. Combined with uTorrent and media-Portal, it's just like having a PVR. I get home, sort my "Videos" folder by date and I see all the latest shows that were downloaded while I was at the office. I love it.
TVRSS does have a few flaws though. Some shows are missing from the list and some are badly indexed. But compared to paying for cable TV? Hell yeah... TVRSS rocks.
- Zeuser, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Love TVRSS. Combined with uTorrent and media-Portal, it's just like having a PVR. I get home, sort my "Videos" folder by date and I see all the latest shows that were downloaded while I was at the office. I love it.
- Steek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3No matter how many of these sites I look through I can never find one that has The Office episodes that actually work.
- wafflez, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1isohunt has all 3 seasons...and has the new eps up within 2 hours at most.
EDIT: for uk eps, btjunkie.org is nice - BOOFMAN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I got the whole series of the OFFICE off of IsoHunt including the original British version.
- Zeuser, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1TVRSS does. Though I just get the American versions of the office, not the british one.
- wafflez, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1isohunt has all 3 seasons...and has the new eps up within 2 hours at most.
- jasonliman, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0peekvid and BT saved me big bucks
- hendzen, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2TiVo is amazing.
But if you're going to use something borderline illegal like peekvid, you might as well just go all the way and torrent it so you can watch it in a decent resolution, especially with a show like Heroes or Lost where there are lots of tiny details in the background aimed towards those with watchful eyes. - alfavision, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Though it is soooo slow, I watch TV shows on http://www.tv-video.net It doesn't have all the shows, but at least it has my favorite ones.
- sakulmada, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Why do people post stuff like this? don't you think all the copyright infringement hounds watch digg to find where people are linking to shows so they can shut them down? this isn't really a problem for torrents, but as far as streaming vids go, we wouldn't have to be constantly re-uploading shows if we were a little more low-key about it. ie: not posting links on public message boards and social networking sites.
pretty please!- dougmc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If you can find a site, so can the MPAA/RIAA/FBI/NSA/BSA/whatever.
Being a little more `low key' doesn't really mean anything.
(Now, I'm not talking about going fully underground, where everything is encrypted, physically localed in obscure countries, you can't get in without being vouched for by several current members, etc. Internally, I believe the warez groups work like that, and that's harder for law enforcement to track down, but as for the sort of sites you'd find on digg, it doesn't really matter if you actually find them on digg or not.)
If you can enter what you're looking for into google, and google actually gives you a link to it in the first few pages, it's probably *not* a secret.
- dougmc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If you can find a site, so can the MPAA/RIAA/FBI/NSA/BSA/whatever.

- ruyn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2The thing major network channels are all realizing that need to have their shows available online. I love being able to watch all my shows on the internet.
- m00dy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Anybody use TED?
- sunshinelife, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0I want to watch The Today Show on NBC online - preferably live as it airs.
None of the above offers that - any suggestions? Thanks. - z999, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1nothing new. those sites are good just if you want to check if you would like this show or if you missed an episode. in bittorrent I can download HDTV versions of those shows! so it will take some more time, but it's in a watchable quality!
- dknighton, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2Another sure-fire way to watch TV for free:
- Plant ass on couch
- Press 'on' button on remote
- Repeat as necessary - greatromance, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1ShareTV.org
- JosephGoss, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0are there any sites where you can download (http or ftp) high quality (100 - 300 MB per Episode) tv shows?
- cptchaos, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1sunshinelife:
Step1: Go to www.getdemocracy.com - download and install the latest democracyplayer for your operating system
Step2: Go to www.tvrss.net and search the appropriate feed for your show (in your case "the daily show", be sure to just select ONE distribution group, i.e. EZTV to avoid duplicates)
Step3: Open democracyplayer - go to "add channels" and copy the search-based-rss feed for the show in the input field.
DONE. from now on Democracyplayer will alert you when new episodes of this show are available and download them for you (it has an integrated bittorrent client).
This is MY preferred method of getting my Battlestar Galactica and Scrubs dose.... - CanadianJason, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0***quote about peekvid ***
It too provides some of the more popular TV show fare like Battlestar Galactica, 24, Lost, Prison Break, and Jackass but, doesn't have shows like The Simpsons or Torchwood available.
***
For the record, peekvid DOES offer 'The Simpsons'. It's cleverly hidden in the Cartoons section. - capran, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I've been torrenting TV shows since last Summer. However, you need to remember that downloading copyrighted material is still "infringement", and you can get in trouble. Case in point, I got a call from my ISP regarding the torrenting of "Rome". Fortunately, I'm not in trouble, for now, they have a "three strikes" rule before they cancel my account. I'd like to go legal, but I just don't think paying $50+ a month for cable or satellite is worth it, and iTunes's $1.99/episode is a little too high as well (especially since there's almost a dozen shows I like to watch, plus documentaries.)
In the meantime I'm trying to be "good" and get the shows from ABC.com, NBC.com, etc., and only a few that I can't find on the network sites I torrent now. But I do prefer the quality of the torrented shows to the streaming "legit" ones, plus the downloaded ones I can throw into Media Center, versus using a browser. - beerunifies, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I use these sites:
http://tv-links.co.uk/index.html - some ads, no pop-ups
http://www.peekvid.com/ - though peekvid is "beta" now, for some reason and has pop-ups.
thanks for the additional links, anomalya. - Miroresh, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3Illegal.
- woodchucklove, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3You're illegal.
- geekee, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3Using bittorrent to watch tv shows is copyright infringement. If this was a GPL violation people would be up in arms, but that's the only copyright violation anyone on Digg cares about. Quit demonizing the RIAA and the MPAA when you in fact are the criminals and they are the victims.
- ATHEISTinHELL, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0why is it copyright infringement I'm not stealing anything i pay for cable and subscribe to showtime and HBO i should be able to watch it how i want. shows on broadcast are free they are paid for by the advertisers so everyone has got their money so it's not stealing. The reason people bitch about the IRAA and MPAA is because they are little to harsh on people who steal music and movies online. I rather be caught stealing a cd or movie from a store than downloading it the penalties seem far less.
- danielmd3000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0dude you really should study your sites before posting stupid things like saying that peekvid does not have the simpsons, it has one of the best and most complete Simpsons guide...
http://www.peekvid.com/feature/cartoons/1195/The-Simpsons.html
this post is lame, i can't understand how it got so many diggs. - everfresh59, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Joost.com will change the way we look at TV and the Internet in the future....
- Jesusfreaks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yea BLEACH is a great show as well as NARUTO
and every time a new episode is released there are 20,000+ seeders - kensai111, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hmm, similar article a week or 2 ago, didn't see some of these links posted, so here's the link back if you missed it:

[reply] - diggbrickroad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Why not just use Democracy Player? Just load the RSS feeds and you're good to go. Free and open source, sure it's somewhat buggy, but the development effort is very active. I've been using it for a while now and my youtube time has plummette :)
- Zeuser, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't even use TV anymore. TVRSS is all I need to get my favorite shows. Hell, they download onto my media-PC faster than I can watch them. Granted I'm at work 8 hours/day, my bitorrent downloads are running at home during this timeframe and when i get home I got too many downloaded shows+movies that I have time to watch them.
***** CABLE TV! Bittorrent is all I need. - brhad56, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1On-Demand television will replace any need I have for downloading TV torrents. Cox has a new On-Demand channel that is pretty sweet. Not everything is on there, but its great for HBO/Cinemax movies whenever I want. :)

Also peekvid does have alot of content the resolution is very bad. Why view such bad resolution when you can download tvrips/dvdrips from a good torrent site such as torrentspy, etc. - subsonik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1While I appreciate the OP's good intentions and making the info available, I feel conflicted about the outcome and that it will only help to kill the communities that make viewing these shows possible. Buried.
- Antirip, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0You are SO right. That's the thing with popular communities like digg with ppl meantioning torrent site, p2p and other links, we are effectively hanging ourselves...
