- mklopez, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12Has anyone else noticed that the digg story counts are out of sync?
While I, posting this, this story has 20 diggs on this page, but in my profile page shows 23 (both just refreshed) - tomboy501, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11I just noticed that aside from the additional required click, the missing description and your own digg not displayed...there's no URL either!
- FyreGoddess, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11I just find it incredibly ironic that in order to use Digg socially, we've lost the functions that we can only retain by *not using the social aspects*.
- SilenceGold, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1324. There are some noticeable slowdowns. No improvement since the previous version in viewing the comments.
25. No image sections! - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Haha, somehow I got on the list.
- FulcrumVitesse, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8I wish they could have taken the money this update cost and put it into some new hardware instead. Digg is still by far the slowest site I use regularly.
- vroom101, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7When displayed, long URL's are truncated: http://www.techipedia.com/2007/new-digg-community- ...
- suxmonkey, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Not just one extra click ... an extra click in AND an extra click out. So multiply the time it takes by 3 effectively. On my already slow comp and internet connection that basically kills my experience of looking over friends' articles.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7Fyre, I'm glad we're on the same side here. :) I really appreciate your feedback too.
- exoendo, on 10/10/2007, -7/+12I'm sorry but this is just getting out of hand ....
by that i mean the attitude of fellow diggers.
Look, I have been here since the very first days, (browsed december, signed up in feb), I've seen all the changes and the introductions of more and more of you idiots. No one liked digg version 2, they wanted the clean look of version one. Then no one liked digg version 3, everyone wanted it to be version two. Then no one liked the 4th revamp, then they didn't like the 5th revamp design (which is now)... they don't like the comments, and now... the profile is a big issue. Listen, I COMPLAIN TOO. It's fun, sometimes, it's justified.... but now whenever Kevin and crew change ANYTHING it's the same old whining and bitching from the peanut gallery. I don't care that people voice their opinions - I truly don't - my problem is that most of the bitching is unjustified fickle mob mentality lockstep complaining for the sake of complaining. So what if there is shouts? That doesn't effect your ability to read news. Seriously, you guys need to get out more. I say this as a long time digger that has been here from the beginning... IT'S GOING TO BE OK. The world isn't ending. Get out of your basement and breathe some fresh air.
- exo - mywhitenoise, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Can't you do that already?
- DeathfireD, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4...and they still haven't fixed the damn comment system.
- Mudcrutch, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Profile > Settings > Customize Topics
- africansk8er, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Well, we know the image section is coming soon, so everyone stop whining about that one. What I don't like is how slow Digg can be some times. That's easily the most annoying part of this website.
- leodavinci, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Exactly. for viewing stories, Digg still pretty much looks like v2. They've added a lot of functionality, but if you don't like it then don't use it.
Comments do suck, but he mentioned that that was going back to the old way, which will be nice. - sfinney180, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4arrrggghhhh i wish everyone would stop bitching about things as stupid as having to click twice on a story to read it who's so lazy they cant be bothered to click twice in my opinion none of these things are really big deals seriously just be happy with the website as a whole its still a really good site
now watch how many diggs my comment gets
my guess is in between -20 to -50 - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Buried as blogspam, its just comments copied from Digg and pasted into a blog
- tomboy501, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I love some of the new changes, exo. But, some major functionality has been hobbled ...at least for me and the way I use digg. Anyone that used their friends list as a filtered content feed against all the spam and crap on the site is scratching their head right now.
- positron, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4My biggest issues with the new features: Your profile email address defaults to PUBLIC display, and you are automatically set to recieve email alerts for everything EXCEPT Digg updates...
Just me, or is that just completely backwards from the way it should be? Especially the publicly displayed email adress thing. That just plain pisses me off! - Fire4Effect, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Couldn't agree more. Since when is having more options a bad thing? If you dont want to use the social networking aspects of the site, then don't use them. Comments will eventually go back to the old style. People need to calm down, get out of the house, maybe actually talk to someone in real life. God forbid, you might even get laid.
- getrealnow, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2It would be nice to have private Messages and a image section. Some people like the idea some don't. For example I would hate if digg had a forum section. It just wouldn't fit imo
- KevenM, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2There are Private Messages now, they're just called Shout Outs. You can do it to just one person or many
- Jakerius, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Learn to reply.
- KevenM, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3What's really funny is that these are the same people who would probably laugh at their own grandparents for being set in their ways and criticizing new stuff.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2The problem is that adding more options is not a bad thing.
The problem starts when removing options defeats the purpose of using the site. - iFrikkenR, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1i hate that the popular topics bar, which is still on the main page, disappears when you click into a section like tech or world&biz. i'm one of those people who open up a million tabs so i like to open a category, then tabs for all the stories when i'm done just click the next category. but now i have to go back to the main page each time. sounds like it's not much of a hassle yeah? well depends on how much you read digg i guess.
not a huge deal but it's nice to have a consistent menu through every page you browse
also the slowdowns - present before the change but now much much worse. open up a few stories in new tabs and the browser craps itself, even on a high spec dual-core system with ***** of ram and a 10mbit cable intertube. and then up pops "script not responding" this ***** is annoying. this is a world of tabbed browsing - i want to be able to open 10-50tabs and not wait half an hour. ***** even opening 3 causes massive delays. - yllabianbitpipe, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Feeling like Digg jumped the shark, couldn't "innovate" past the digging stories idea and therefore is moving towards social networking - the most obvious (and least innovative) route.
- useful, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1while you can customize your topics you cant customize the rss feed easily.
- vroom101, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1So cutting-and-pasting a URL will be a problem. Also, if you edit the comment, remember to re-insert the URL otherwise the truncated URL with the "..." can become the new hyperlinked URL.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1GreedKills, actually, it's also from personal conversations, Pownce, and other areas. Shows how much you read... yet again.
- exoendo, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2NO! YOU HAVE TO SPEND 30 SECONDS CHANGING SOME SETTINGS! THE HORROR!!!
- jobenly, on 10/10/2007, -4/+4Agreed. There isn't much variety in the viewpoints of front-page news and political stories, either.
- amorrise, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Pownce and Digg join forces, maybe all of Kevins ideas aren't groundbreaking
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1GreedKills, just fyi, I quoted them, but their quotes don't come from Digg. The links to their names show that they're Digg users.
If you're going to define the term "blogspam," at least know what blogspam truly is. - demusdesign, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1I don't understand why they would add the ability to see all your or your friends' comments without just putting in the comment scores. How hard would that be?
- Ianki, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2In other news: Diggers fear change, long for burning criticisms.
- dannywhite1, on 12/02/2008, -0/+0leave the social stuff to the social sites...

http://www.visitcamposol.com/ - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1The commenting system is beyond broken in case you haven't noticed. I liked it better yesterday.
- jmpeagle, on 10/10/2007, -6/+4you can already do that assclown
- ChronicColonic, on 10/10/2007, -5/+2That assclown has already been done. If the assclown is willing however, you can do him again.
- sgbeal, on 10/10/2007, -15/+10IMO, the only significant change digg *needs* to make is to filter out all of this Mac/Apple/iPhone/iPod crap which the fanboys post every 4.7 seconds. It's worse than the spam in my mailbox.
- KevinRoseMustDy, on 10/10/2007, -10/+0Whose dick did you suck?

What is Digg?
