- phibit, on 07/29/2008, -1/+82Internet without porn? I don't understand. What's the point then?
- socalftw, on 07/29/2008, -2/+48Blocking internet porn will start a war. No joke.
- skinnyskittles, on 07/29/2008, -0/+25When was the last time you checked?
- EtherGnat, on 07/29/2008, -1/+21The United States has fallen from first to fourteenth in broadband capability. Maybe they ought to do something about that before they save us from the horrors of porn.
- gsadamb, on 07/29/2008, -0/+15There's also the matter of HOW exactly one would go about blocking porn to begin with. Filtering software meant to keep kids from browsing porn is ridiculously broken, for example. Not to mention that in addition to the Web, there's plenty of other ways to procure porn on the Internet, from torrents to Usenet to IRC and more. It's a terrible idea on ethical grounds, but it's also a completely untenable idea technologically as well.
- SpiritOfRock, on 07/29/2008, -1/+14Disgusting.
- PhillyMJS, on 07/30/2008, -0/+13Obligatory Scrubs quote: "I believe if all the porn was removed from the internet, there'd be only one site left...and it would say BRING BACK THE PORN!"
- tava0002, on 07/29/2008, -1/+13I will personally start my own revolution.
- inactive, on 07/29/2008, -1/+12"almost half a dozen advocacy groups from liberal to libertarian"
I'm thinkin' that they meant "almost two dozen". - drjekelmrhyde, on 07/30/2008, -0/+10Feels like I am in China
- stormofswords, on 07/30/2008, -0/+9lol conservatives. Smaller government in name only.
- magneteye, on 07/29/2008, -2/+11No ***** way...
Last time I checked this was America! Land of the free! - Zipko, on 07/30/2008, -1/+9...In my pants.
- poiuytrewq44, on 07/29/2008, -2/+9While I don't support blocking porn, I do support www.*.xxx domain names. That'll make anything so much easier to block. At least the websites themselves...
- thesonofdarwin, on 07/29/2008, -0/+7I like this idea. Let's filter based on content AND provide it for free that way we set a precedent of limiting information reaching the poor. Then we can block sites that go against our agenda. When we're done we'll have all of the common people believing because they don't know any better!
Maybe add this to libraries as well? Only provide everything to those with money.
No sir, no thank you. - ericdano, on 07/29/2008, -0/+6This is exactly what they SHOULD NOT BE DOING. The government ought to be concerning itself with keeping the internet free and open and FAST rather than blocking what people are watching/downloading/visiting. It is just a waste of money to do this.
- Gizza, on 07/30/2008, -0/+6It's like beer without the alcohol or coffee without caffeine.
- timpoke8, on 07/30/2008, -0/+6Wait, so you can't look at porn if you're 5-17 years old, but if you're under 5 anything goes?
- jojoyohan, on 07/29/2008, -0/+6As they say, lawsuits will win this if it goes into effect. If you take into consideration how the child porn filtering law in Pennsylvania was found to be unconstitutional, this doesn't stand too much of a chance.
- treed, on 07/29/2008, -0/+6And I'm saying that if the government's subsidizing it, there is absolutely no way they should censor it or anything.
Private companies can get away with censorship; the first amendment doesn't rule them. It *does* rule the government. - digitalpencil, on 07/29/2008, -1/+6the internet is for porn..

- BPShirase, on 07/29/2008, -0/+5If they are made to block porn, what's next?
- luchid, on 07/30/2008, -0/+5@Zipko: That's one small revolution.
- lineweight, on 07/29/2008, -1/+5Man....memes used to be funny, until people killed them by repeating them in situations that weren't applicable.
- inactive, on 07/29/2008, -0/+4The Internet is for Porn.
The Internet is for Porn.
How you think the net was born?
PORN PORN PORN ! - DarkLance, on 07/29/2008, -0/+4Just what we need, a government to protect the people from themselves, I'd pay taxes for that. Coat all the infants in bubblewrap as soon as they are born, we wouldn't want our precious babies getting hurt, now would we?
If this goes through, the Chinese will attack with nudie pictures, then everyone will be so fascinated they'll forget to fight back. - nismo334, on 07/29/2008, -1/+5is one of your friends you?
- KingGorilla, on 07/30/2008, -0/+4It's your reward for figuring out how to use a computer at such a young age
- lineweight, on 07/29/2008, -0/+4The internet is a series of porns.
- Gizza, on 07/30/2008, -0/+4Based on his conclusion, I would say about 8 years or so.
- Technoloki, on 07/29/2008, -0/+3Wow! Free internet porn brings more people together in a spirit of unity and brotherhood than the Olympics. So, who gets to carry the torch?
- Draculecom, on 07/29/2008, -0/+3Sorry folks, the genie's out of the bottle and not going back in, he's too busy in a three-way with a couple of blondes.
- EtherGnat, on 07/30/2008, -0/+3...and what do you do about existing websites? Some of those domains are worth millions. What do you do about websites in different countries? Who decides what goes on .xxx?
I used to be for the .xxx domain name, and while I'm still not exactly against it I don't see it solving anything. - ruforealz, on 07/29/2008, -0/+3Porn Rules Everthing Around Me
- teamgwho, on 07/29/2008, -0/+3Ridiculous. Standards are not uniform from one city to another, let alone one state or even one nation to another. just consider the level of sexuality in japanese cartoons, it's far more then you'd ever be allowed to see during 8-10 on broadcast tv, and yet nobody bats an eye about it over there.
Besides. If I feel it's ok for my kid to see it, then that is my choice. Not the FCC's or the presidents or the head of Comcast or anyone elses. - KaJuN4, on 07/30/2008, -0/+3So grab your dick and double click!
- inactive, on 07/29/2008, -10/+13***** them, two of my friends will die if porn gets filtered out.
- bluemonnggee, on 07/29/2008, -0/+3One more instance of the government trying to take too much power

- roryk27, on 07/30/2008, -0/+2you are still free to do whatever you want....
you just might get thrown in jail for it - Khast, on 07/30/2008, -0/+2Of course, we also know that Free and Internet don't go together...Comcast would love to filter all the above, then have the audacity to charge us more for the protection "Service" they provided.
Personally, the internet should stay the way it is. Let the poor schmucks who can't evolve with the technology wither away, like the old douchebags they are. (Here's pointing to you RIAA.)
Love how people can't see sarcasm these days without "/sarcasm" at the end of the post...sheesh. - poiuytrewq44, on 07/30/2008, -0/+2I propose a billion dollar project to create the perfect robot. It browses the web, and if it pops a boner, the domain gets changed. I call it the boner bot. I'd like my check please mr. president.
- SlimFastForYou, on 07/30/2008, -0/+2The only kind of filtration I would consider acceptable is if you can opt in/out. For instance, you visit a web page on your device where you can change your filter settings. Maybe have it where you can password protect the options page so that kids can't mess with it either. The only people who need to "think of the children" are parents - I don't want my tax dollars going towards a Chinese style censorship apparatus.
- phibit, on 07/30/2008, -0/+2Dugg for posting the original. I had never seen that one, just the WOW version. Kinda sad :P
- theaceoffire, on 07/30/2008, -0/+2Its like they forgot rule number one:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=T-TA57L0kuc - Zipko, on 07/30/2008, -0/+2I don't think there was anywhere appliciable for this one with the exception of any comment in that post. The first time I saw someone use it outside of that was lame.
- KaJuN4, on 07/30/2008, -0/+1If they block out porn does that mean they will also block out the game?
- KingGorilla, on 07/30/2008, -0/+1a series of fappable events
