- Charlotte_Web, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Doc : And in the future, we don't need horses. We have motorized carriages called automobiles.
Saloon Old Timer #3 : If everybody's got one of these auto-whatsits, does anybody walk or run anymore?
Doc : Of course we run. But for recreation. For fun.
Saloon Old Timer #3 : Run for fun? What the hell kind of fun is that? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"apple would introduce iLibrary Which revolutionized the print inductry. Using iLibrary you could buy any book you wanted, at full price, and the book is yours as long as you wanted it! Of course the book could only be read from 5 locations and you could tell other people about your book but they wouldn't actually be able to read it without purchasing their own copy."
Remember though, You can only Read the iPrint on an iReader through the.m4doc format. - fungifred, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wait, wait, Computer Science is a COURSE!!!
Man, I must be in some kind of remedial CS program, it is going to take me 4 years - mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1every response was completely accurate. but well, the questions were pretty vague too..
- hufnmouth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1sigh. I miss OMNI.
- igotsnakeeyes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Except for mentioning internet and network innovations it was quite accurate. Nice predictions, they were a little vague, i agree but not bad for someone 19 years ago to think about today.
- AboveTheDust, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I can't believe that Digg just killed TOTSE. They just got their servers up and running after a month hiatus...
- motostamp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very interesting read. Some of the predictions weren't too far off.
- iCTDCAPiLOT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If you read carefully, the questions are very pushy. With that kind of discretion, you can get the crowd to agree to almost any statement if you sell it subtly enough.
- bigpeeler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"sigh. I miss OMNI."
Me too. It was such a cool magazine. What I wouldn't give to see a few back issues and look at the old tech advertisements. - PayneX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I agree with ictdcapilot, that poll seems to break every law of a unbiased survey.
With regard to 911, environmental pollution, terrrism, are airplanes a good idea? - KevInTx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Man I SOOOOOO miss OMNI magazine... The "good" OMNI of the early 80's before it totally went to ***** :)
- domusvita, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"I'll give you a prediction, I predict you will all die very lonely."
- Thelonius, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1What people failed to realize when they predicted the decline of books was in 2006 apple would introduce iLibrary Which revolutionized the print inductry. Using iLibrary you could buy any book you wanted, at full price, and the book is yours as long as you wanted it! Of course the book could only be read from 5 locations and you could tell other people about your book but they wouldn't actually be able to read it without purchasing their own copy.
- chiefcrazytalk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Best question and answer:
In your opinion, which nation or group of nations will be considered the predominant economic power in 2007?
....
b. USSR (4%)
Guess the 4% were wrong about THAT one! - neocitron, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1in the future.... we will be owned by Apple... and microsoft will be the new underdog...
- BlackSheepx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Digg = Death :[
- fiend.lord, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Site dead? If so, this better not get any more diggs, although it will from those who just dig everything.
- szelij, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1You mean if there would even be a future theone3? I would think that 19 years from now, there'd be some more wars, the collapse of some economies, a few more coups, the EU parliament strengthening its authority and the EU behaving more like a state rather than a loose entity.
Of course i also expect 100gigabyte/sec internet service...and huge screens on which the Internet can be projected on...not to mention exclusive internet-delivered content making IPTV truly a world market. - bigteebo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0OMNI, wow, that was a steaming pile 'o futurist crap magazine like Mondo 2000, huh?
- yoblin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://72.14.207.104/search?q=cache:zY8aOo44GY0J:www.totse.com/en/technology/science_technology/poll2res.html+&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=1&client=firefox-a
- jguy584, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0AHHH digg killed my favorite website :'(
- njbair, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Great! These are way more on point than Conan O'Brien's predictions!
- Tom_Riddle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I like how the people flaming Apple are morons.
you can already buy audio-books on iTunes. if you really want one, go get one. and hey guess what. if you burn it onto a cd it changes format. and then you can share it with yer friends! what an idea!
dumbasses.... - jguy584, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0and the boards to *cries more*
- Ruckus21, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0How many seers predicted the DIGG effect?
- saysaknow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Totse dead? Holy *****.
- Alt1ma, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0how dare you defile the obscurity that was was totse
- jguy584, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0this digg has officialy ruined my next (insert time that totse is down due to this, in hours)
- Mojave, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wouldn't it have made more sense to wait until 2007 to comment on what people thought 2007 would be like?
Ok, I'm starting a new poll, what will 2026 be like? And tomorrow, we'll discuss how wrong we were. - Biomechanical, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0They said we would have Flying Vehicles by 2000.
I thought it was true, too. :(
They weren't too far off. :)
http://moller.com - theone3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0sl: yeah. It comes and goes ;).
- Tobey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I seem to recall we were all supposed to be flying around with jet packs, living in space, and eating entire meals just by taking a tiny pill by now.
What a crappy future this has turned out to be. I was really looking forward to those jet packs... - goliath553, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0THis story is not funny ... but did you know that the events of the first transformers movie take place in 2005 ... that is crazy - dont know bout you but i dont see giant tranforming robots .... i would totally be an autobot though even though their big pussies
- theone3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0.

- raccettura, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Missing exerpt:
--------------
This survey will be on the internet, and featured on digg.com (0%)
-------------- - evil-doer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0beyond 2000 show is still on, its just called beyond tomorrow now:
http://www.beyond2000.com/ - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+02006 poll - will people still care what David Byrne thinks in 2007?
- Qopax, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well, CS is a required course for all 10th graders at my high school. It's only one term (half a school year), but it's a pretty good introduction, covering netlogo, scheme, and then python.
- tlianza, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The only part of this story that's Diggworthy is how little we've changed relative to many of the questions (religion, media). The questions about computers were pretty boring, mostly because they didn't have a vision for what the internet would become, so you get the feeling that by "computer" they really mean "non-networked personal computer" which, though useful, is really nothing compared to an internet-enabled device (PC or otherwise).
- Reddog_x2000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I also miss OMNI. Wired is good. But, it's just not the same. Beyond 2000 is now called Beyond Tomorrow. It's on Discovery Science channel. Or is it just called the Science channel now?
- jarnot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Man, I miss Omni. It was an excellent magazine...
- oxymoron69, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0what's illegal or questionable on this site that websense won't let me see...
oh well... here comes google cache! - crackhead, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I see "totse" and think "goatse".
/shudders - Buckler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I predict that in 2007, the link will be blocked from my worksite, having apparently fallen into the "Criminal Skills" category. Also, there will be food-pills and jumpsuits for everyone!
- lamprey187, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0History repeats itself over and over. People/human nature never changes really. The only things that change are science and technology. Still a cool digg.
So I predict for 2027: Some wars, natural disasters, the wealthy controlling the poor masses, etc......oh and flying cars. - antdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It is 2007 yet. There are some chances? ;)
- dr.tchock, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i still care what david byrne thinks.
sigh. kids these days. - Lionhart, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Totse is back!?
