- Joab, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1519.) Allow live streaming video. i.e. As its being filmed it can be watched. I would like to see independent video news sources start appearing on the web. I'm talking about a group a lot more organized then a 1 man show filmed via a webcam.
- Treius, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11What's wrong with googlifying youTube? Google's system is clean and unified, if anything it would breath even more life into it.
- wphj, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Yeah, that's not that big a deal...
Most YouTube users probably already have a google account. - baxtermaddux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4thats a brilliant idea. but under current upload data rates its gonna be damn hard for anyone to do that soon
- Higgins, on 10/12/2007, -0/+219. ) Make a profit.
- GawtMilk, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4"More content partnerships so that cool mainstream media content can stay on the site.
Likelihood: Almost inevitable."
"So that cool mainstream content can stay on the site"? more like "So that lame 'directors' like CBS and Renetto can get more exposure for their trash". - ninefourchevo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'd like to see YouTube's video player interface be identical to Google's (aside from the branding).. Google's is much slicker. It lets you jump to precisely any point and buffers from there. The YouTube one doesnt come close.
- appletalk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The coolest thing they can do is to drop Google Video and focus on a single service => Youtube.
- al4444, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1agree
- dpower, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What official Youtube Google statement? Anyone go a link that works?
- maorezer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The Fab Channel already streams live videos and keeps an archive of them. But that's only for live gigs.

Provide users with tools for online video editing so that users can mix videos online.
Provide a CVS like tools also for video editing.
Encourage mixing and content creation with Special FX, ex : sell suits for motion tracking and software for avatars, like golem in Lord of the rings.
Promote free software to do video editing. - se7en11, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2007/01/look-ahead-at-google-video-and-youtube.html
- SuperRoach, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1RE: 19.) Allow live streaming video. -- There already is a place that lets you upload and people see it live, http://www.stickam.com/ . Bit like youtube mixed with a little bit of myspace
The idea itself is very tricky! I'd like to be my own personal streaming, but you have two options:
1) get a mega hot upload speed to stream to everyone, and be a web server
2) attempt to find a free multicast server that lets you use any kind of format.
So, the stickams a great place. - Agret, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Checkout how big of a spammer this guy is:
http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Adigg.com+searchjerk.com
Searching for 'searchjerk sucks' on searchjerk.com returns:
Looking for Searchjerk Suck?
Find Searchjerk Suck and more at Lycos Search. No clutter, just answers. Lycos -- Go Get It!
search.lycos.com (Cost to Advertiser $0.02)
Therefore lycos has 'searchjerk suck' and also sucks =P - dmyze, on 10/12/2007, -0/+021. Get Chad a Haircut.
- dudu78, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3How about:
19. Do not, under any circumstances, *googlify* YouTube. Meaning: Do not link any YouTube Profiles to Google IG, Google Mail, Google Notebook, Google Sitemap, blah blah blah. You get the point.
Likelihood: No chance. They will googlify the shizznik out of YouTube. - dudu78, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1OMG! Another one for my ignore list!
- scabbers, on 10/12/2007, -2/+220. Ban Renetto
- Fly1m1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1blip.tv is better than youtube in every way....
- dudu78, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I'd love to see that come to reality. Soap operas by filmstudents, NNC ((Nerd News Channel) and other stuff I can't think of. Would be awesome.
- dudu78, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1It's simply wrong. I do not want my YouTube behaviour influence the personalized ads I get from Google. Neither do I want my private life analyzed by some Google mathematician. I can see the point in Google's strategy and I know they need to expand so their shareholder value stays up. But damn ... why googlify YouTube? So they can serve me ads of automatic WebCams that does one snapshot every day for 3 years straight or selling me CounterStrike:Source just because I like watching nerds screaming "Headshot! I 0wn0rz you, b*tch!"?
Keep the service separated and all will be good.
