I for one do not at all want a "Facebook TV" equivalent or to have applications streaming clips or ***** games based on TV shows cluttering my or my friends' pages. What's the complaint, exactly?
- thegamingguy, on 11/23/2008, -0/+16Expensive to keep up with the newest social platform flavor of the week.
- vegx, on 11/24/2008, -2/+16The lack of big-media crap on Facebook is a good thing.
- ThirdPrize, on 11/24/2008, -1/+12If Facebook itself can't think of a way to monetize itself then I doubt if any other companies can either.
- Photonerd28, on 11/24/2008, -1/+8why the ***** is this on the front page no one ***** cares....
- DirtyDiggDog, on 11/24/2008, -0/+6I would hate to see something like this happen to FB, but something drastic is probably going to happen in the next year or so, otherwise Facebook will go away completely.
- beabis, on 11/24/2008, -2/+6Facebook and Myspace are passing fads. They are just an opportunity for every loser with some dirty laundry to pretend they are on Jerry Springer by displaying it to the world. People will eventually grow up and get over it.
- fuxxx, on 11/24/2008, -2/+6Do not want
- drgirlfriend, on 11/24/2008, -0/+4"It's complicated" with big media
- Frodoholic, on 11/24/2008, -2/+5I highly doubt social networking sites are passing fads. They are an easy and modern way to keep in touch with friends that you never see, and the appeal to the college student is amazing. It is very easy to organize events, such as small gatherings with a small group of friends, or huge large scale events such as protests. I feel like saying that FB and Myspace are passing fads is kinda like saying e-mail was just a passing fad when it debuted. Just because you don't like what FB and Myspace (more so myspace) has become, doesn't mean it's not going to be around for awhile.
Also, I'm not really sure what dirty laundry is getting displayed on fb. Maybe my friends are just boring though. - rexprime, on 11/24/2008, -0/+3amen
- Mujokan, on 11/24/2008, -0/+2Anyone wanting to sell internet sites for billions should have gotten their ass into gear last year. The money ain't there no more.
- OBKenobi, on 11/25/2008, -0/+1Facebook is going down fast. It's starting to look like the new MySpace, only minus the brain-traumatizing user-made HTML.
- erichh, on 11/24/2008, -0/+1I seriously doubt that big media will ever give their content to any social network that they do not either own or have stock in. Big Media depends of viewership (visitors) to make its profits and to put it out on social networks would only hinder its profitability.
- mdude85, on 11/24/2008, -3/+3Ugh, I cringe whenever I see a so-called "big media" video posting on some social networking site ... the idea of having to sit through a 30 second commercial in order to watch a 1 minute clip is just not appetizing at all.
- savocado, on 11/24/2008, -6/+5Facebook with a ton of stupid 'apps' is becoming the new myspace with ugly backgrounds and music widgets.
- rexprime, on 11/24/2008, -3/+2People want Facebook. Unfortunately they don't want to pay for it or have "big media" pay for it, because they hate ads. There is only so far a site can go without a real business model before the V.C.s vanish.
