- BickNailey, on 07/16/2009, -0/+17Congrats... You’ve made permanent enhancements to your body! The Cyborg perk instantly adds +10% to your Damage, Poison, and Radiation Resistances, and 10 points to the Energy Weapons skill!
- slifty, on 07/16/2009, -1/+9I am Locutus of Borg. Resistance is futile.
- lamejoketeller, on 07/16/2009, -3/+10do want
- flyzipper, on 07/16/2009, -4/+10RE: "The Bullet Stopping T-Shirt"
Rest assured, you'll end up with more than a bruise. - GhostInAShell, on 07/16/2009, -0/+6I'll take them all, thanks.
- Ashur420, on 07/16/2009, -0/+4Where do I volunteer? Cause sign me up for that *****.
- JGang05, on 07/16/2009, -1/+5My CPU is a neural net processor, a learning computer
- CaptObvious, on 07/16/2009, -1/+4All I've ever cared about was video games and they made me a millionaire. So maybe I don't know what the Civil War was, or who invented the helicopter even though I own one, but I did beat The Legend of Zelda before I could walk. I'm thinking about getting metal legs. It's a risky operation, but it'll be worth it.
- copypastry, on 07/16/2009, -0/+3Why would anyone hate hot girls?
YOU TRIPPIN. - copypastry, on 07/16/2009, -0/+3The C leg allows you to C walk more efficiently than ever.
- dleas, on 07/16/2009, -1/+4I'm pretty sure that only one of those technologies was organic...so basically he doesn't mean "super human"
- sndream, on 07/16/2009, -0/+2How does wearing the T-Shirt make you a cyborg?
- woodyinthehoody, on 07/16/2009, -1/+3if you look at how technology has jumped in even the past 10 years, its conceivable that these could be within our reach in the next ten.
- linuxwarz, on 07/16/2009, -1/+3I've always wanted a Ghost in the Shell type cyberbrain.
- tgjerusalem, on 07/16/2009, -1/+3buried, reported, & go to hell spammer
- JekJob, on 07/16/2009, -0/+2I take solace in knowing that when I'm old I will be able to replace every part of my body with robot parts and then live forever.
- xero69, on 07/16/2009, -0/+2If even a handful of these are actually available in the future I'm blowing some my retirement fund on some upgrades.
- PlanckTime, on 07/16/2009, -0/+2I was wondering myself how it meant to deal with the kinetic force of the bullet.
- UrineEngineer, on 07/16/2009, -0/+1It's not the T-shirt that is special, its what comes after the T-shirt.
- rancemo, on 07/17/2009, -0/+1Except even if it works, it's not much more practical than a standard air tank. A centrifuge that spins water would need an enormous amount of power, so you'd either need an extension cord or a ***** ton of batteries strapped to you. Also, it just extracts regular air from the water. This means your time underwater will still be limited by excess nitrogen building up in your bloodstream.
- eviscerator, on 07/16/2009, -0/+1And yet I still have to digg him up :P
- CaptObvious, on 07/16/2009, -0/+1Grandma's Boy.
- robcauchi, on 07/16/2009, -0/+1How bizzare, we'll be living in an age where people born with disabilities are given limbs/organs that give them an advantage over those born normal.
- UrineEngineer, on 07/16/2009, -0/+1They "they hate hot girls and big woman"?
Then what exactly do they like? - metamethod, on 07/16/2009, -0/+1its already here... bluetooth headset.
- copypastry, on 07/16/2009, -0/+1***** man. *****.
- physicsguy89, on 07/16/2009, -0/+1YOU WILL ADAPT YOUR CULTURE TO SERVE US. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE.
- WonderBoy55, on 07/16/2009, -1/+2"Or you can spring for the more advanced T-73 Jet pack and fly for a full nine minutes, and up to 11 miles."
Convert to hours:
9/60 = .15 hours
r = d/t
11 miles/.15 hours = 73.33... miles per hour?? With a jetpack? Holy crap! - eviscerator, on 07/16/2009, -0/+1Jetpacking to work will be awesome. Just saying.
- kd1s, on 07/16/2009, -1/+1Of all of that I think the coolest is the breathing apparatus for underwater work. That is something else.
- Kiboney, on 07/16/2009, -2/+3This is a stupid article. I want my minutes back.
- mmrosek, on 07/16/2009, -1/+1Such an underrated movie...."Hi mommie, did you remember to tivo Samurai Jack?"
- UrineEngineer, on 07/16/2009, -1/+0Hell, I'll be blowing dudes for this upgrade.
- inactive, on 07/16/2009, -1/+0Will make us into cyborgs tier.
Bionic ear, bionic vision,C-leg, and exoskeleton.
Are being tested on and might actually be used tier.
Neural Implants, regeneration, Bullet stopping T-shirt, and breathing underwater.
I don't think so, Tim, Tier.
Mind Reading, Teleportation, and Cybernetics.
We've had this ***** for a long time tier.
The Rocket Belt. - UrineEngineer, on 07/16/2009, -1/+0If such a movie is underrated, then I demand to know it's title so that I may rate it up to it's proper rating.
- HeyyyJoe, on 07/16/2009, -2/+1lol getting killed by youre tshirt
- ImperialSoren, on 07/16/2009, -2/+1much sooner than 200 years, but maybe not in time for most of us here now.
- UrineEngineer, on 07/16/2009, -1/+0Correction. Not actually 200 years. MrCrissypoo is actually sad that he will dead before more than one enhancement is affordable.
- chriswastaken, on 10/27/2009, -5/+2I can't see the photos. If anyone else is having problems here is the mirror.
http://rorr.im/digg.com/tech_news/12_emerging_tech ... - MrCrissypoo, on 07/16/2009, -6/+1Sad thing is, this technology won't be finished/perfected/mass produced/released to the market for another 200 years.
What a shame, I looked forward to breathing underwater using my cybernetic eye while propelling myself with my $40,000 limb. Of course if a shark came by, I'd hear it thanks to my cyborg hearing aid. If it dares take a chunk of skin off, I'll just regenerate, however if it's too serious, I could just teleport out of there.
