- icexe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2let's not offend our precious family values while watching our modern day gladiator events.
- phobet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It's amazing the double standard the NFL will uphold. If I remember correctly, the year after the famous "wardrobe malfunction" involving Janet Jackson, and Justin Timberlake, they featured an *NFL* commercial with an NFL player, and one of the women from Desperate Houswives, which took place in a locker room, with the "housewife" in nothing but a towel. What balls!
- jasongetsdown, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I second goodbyepolar's second of whoever above.
Its mysogenistic and not funny. Its sad when the NFL is the only institution on television with any basic standard of decency. Its football folks, for the whole family, and that includes the women. Grow up. - tbalanco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Bob Parsons, the owner of Godaddy, doesn't want the add to be approved. He's milking this for all it's worth WITHOUT having to spend $2.4MM. Seriously, if he wanted to get an ad approved he could.
- pseudojd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1godaddy sucks. the wallmart for domains or hosting.
- saysaknow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I agree with joel.smith. The other day, I was watching TV (something rare I do) when all of a sudden this nasty overweight lady's ass was in my face. It was hanging out of her bikini. Sick. Strech marks... I'm blind. It was a commercial for losing weight. Damn...
- glycolized, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Are we going to have to endure lame "wardrobe malfunction" humor every super bowl from now on? Wasn't it played out last SB?
- pezz453, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1ehm. that commercial sucked.
- Boondoggle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I Love *****. I hate censorship. That add was lame.
- Ozmotear, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Direct Link - http://a1848.g.akamai.net/7/1848/13927/v001/godaddysof1.download.akamai.com/13755/S_CarWash_E_large.swf
- Avisto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeap, those are super lame ads.
Anyone can use sex to sell a product. - LaPistola, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It is a stupid freaking spot.. not even funny... thats why I don't like it.
- vodkamattvt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2If this doesnt prove that America was founded by puritans, then I dont know what does. There is absolutely NOTHING really wrong with the commercial. I really dont see the outrage, especially when they are going to show the cheerleaders dancing (most likely) in the same kind of skimpy outfits doing similar dances.
The sooner we have porn on the air, the better for America. Maybe then we may get upset at VIOLENCE instead of "terrible horrible omg" sex.
Bunch of prudes. - pkulak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well, maybe they rejected it because it was a ***** comercial and not because of the tities.
- molecool, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Where is the commercial? If I click on that link in the top headline it only reloads the page. I'm sick of people building pages that you cannot figure out within 20 seconds or so. I don't want to scroll all over the page to find some inconspicious link. Anyway - URL anyone??
- SyDIGG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1First of all, the general public had a chance to elect someone different with all the knowledge of Iraq, but hey didn't. Instead 62+ millions reelected him. He is NOT defending torture. Give me a direct quote from him. I am sure your definition of torture is somewhat lose if you said that. With the NSA thing, sorry but most people of fine with it ...you are wrong again. The program is so secretive ...do you know who are they wiretapping? My my ...you seem to be an authority on the subject. As for the Iraq war, did you know the US budget was 2.3 trillion last year? What percentage of this is for defense? Without the war, the US would still be in the red. Politicians will find other ways spending the money ...they always do. Last time I checked, Canada had $500 billion national debt! No exit strategy? Iraqis just voted for their government and we will be reducing the number of troops in Iraq this year. Those are two things you guys predicted it would never happened. Winning is the exit strategy btw. You have nothing but conjectures piling on conjectures.
He is the president and its one of his rights to appoint people. ALL presidents do this. FDR stacked the Supreme Court. You must be really naive in politics to think Bush can do whatever he wants. There are political ramifications for his party in his actions. The 2006 election is around the corner ...oh wait ...I forgot you have little knowledge of US civics ...my bad. - plefno, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I agree. That commercial sucks, but it's not obscene or anything.
- Flyerman85, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What I would like to see is Godaddy to turn around and make the same commerical but have the girl dressed up like a puritan, then have a message at the end saying sorry for the dullness but this is all that we were aloud to show, make a website where you can say/show what you want for only $xx.xx/month
- ConorKiley, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I would have rejected that ad simply because it's idiotic.
- jasonchem, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If your child is emotionally injured by viewing a pair of magnificent hogans, you haven't done an adequate job parenting. They're part of the human body that were fully clothed. The sexual innuendo used in the ad was above the head of most young kids.
Dugg, funny commercial - goodbyepolar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"The ad is just stupid though. There's no joke, no real showcase of the product, it's not funny."
I totally agree.
"In lieu of creativity, there is an undue emphasis on sexuality." - Jay Emerte - weesee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Im not a puritan asswipe but I think that the superbowl isnt the place for this...
Some people try to be good parents
What gets me is the ERD commercials
my friends son last year turned to us (hes 6) and asked whats erectile disfunction.
/Sigh
now I have to go to a bar and wtch the game because the wifes said that the kids can no longer watch
which is so bogus because the superbowl used to be the perfect family gathering event that wasnt a money sucking holiday.
thats my rant - Aslan72, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There's a lesson here somewhere. Piss on your customers and try and exploit them for free advertising and it's likely to bit you in the ass.
bleh...the commercial is so two years ago. - dknighton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Sexual ? That commercial surely wasn't sexual by any means."
I don't have a problem with the commercial, but that statement was just ignorant. The girl wet down her t-shirt and pressed her ***** against the glass, for chrissakes!
No...nothing sexual about that at all!
Idiot. - tmcleroy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1stupid commercial
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That commercial actually kindof sucked... No digg.
- chasle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I love to see people try new ideas and test the boundaries... but this ad is just dumb.
- paulchu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i think the notoriety is getting godaddy way more publicity than any superbowl commercial.
- Nobi-Wan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I really don't understand why people are so religiously defending commercials like this. If I want to watch the Superbowl with family and friends and NOT have awkward moments while watching it with wives, kids, girlfriends, etc. because of lowbrow "humor" like this I should have every right to express that...just like people who believe the opposite should be able to express their opinion.
I think the commercial was stupid, not funny, and deserved to be rejected for the tenth time. It's easy for advertisers to use sex to sell a product. It's overdone and just DUMB.
Still not dugg. - SilentBobSC, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@SyDigg "NO CONVIDENCE"
um, That's Confidence and you spell it D-I-C-T-I-O-N-A-R-Y - oepapel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"First of all, the general public had a chance to elect someone different with all the knowledge of Iraq, but hey didn't. Instead 62+ millions reelected him."
Exactly. You had the knowledge and STILL chose to not punish him by kicking him out. Now, you could say that the other guy wasn't a good choice either. But he didn't make a giant mistake go to war. Why should he bother to listen to the "people" when he can do whatever he wants, make all the mistakes he wants, and he STILL gets re-elected!!!
" He is NOT defending torture. Give me a direct quote from him. "
Of course their is no direct quote. He ain't THAT dumb. Instead, Cheney asked permission to torture on behalf of the president. Here's a quote from an Associated Press story:
"Cheney told his audience the United States doesn't engage in torture, these participants added, even though he said the administration needed an exemption from any legislation banning "cruel, inhuman or degrading" treatment in case the president decided one was necessary to prevent a terrorist attack."
So even though Bush says "we do not torture", he still actively looks for the power to torture in the future. That sounds like someone who defends the use of torture to me.
" With the NSA thing, sorry but most people of fine with it "
I'm glad that you think that it's "fine" for the government to violate your civil liberties without even telling you. That doesn't make it right or constitutional. Remember the constitution from civics class? I guess that's just theory. It bears no resemblance to the real world.
"Without the war, the US would still be in the red. Politicians will find other ways spending the money ...they always do."
This is probably the dumbest argument so far. It's OK to waste billions because it would have been wasted anyway! The scandal in Canada was over $150 million (Canadian!) and the Prime Minister got called to the carpet over it and his government collapsed. Say what you will but if billions were improperly spent anywhere else in the world, a similar thing would occur.
". Those are two things you guys predicted it would never happened. Winning is the exit strategy btw."
First off, I never predicted anything. Second, how do you win? Are you any safer today? Are there less WMD's out there? Are the terrorists even CLOSE to being crippled or defeated to any significant extent? Has their extremist will been broken? Are gas prices lower? What exactly have you won?
"You must be really naive in politics to think Bush can do whatever he wants. There are political ramifications for his party in his actions."
How does that affect Bush? He can't get elected again. He's not exactly known for brilliance in long term strategizing anyway. His party isn't suffering, either. They control the Senate, the House of Representatives, the legislature, and the White House. They aren't going anywhere, at least not anytime soon. The checks and balances system is pretty much broken.
"The 2006 election is around the corner ...oh wait ...I forgot you have little knowledge of US civics ...my bad."
That's the Congressional election. That has nothing to do with the president. His election is in 2008. And he can't get elected anyway. - amatasu_zero, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Digg is like craigslist. Bunch of liberals.
- clabbergrrl, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Anyone who watches the Super Bowl is an idiot anyway, so what difference does any of this make?
- tavisjohn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1So it is OK to sell beer that way, but not domain names? What a load of poop!
- theoallardyce, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The only outrageous thing about that advert is the price! .com domains should not be that cheap were about to run out all but the most obscure names!rnrnBut seriously, if anyone can show me significant evidence that a girl soaping her self up in a bikini will have lasting and damaging effects on children then i'd like to see it, this might sound controversial, but kids below puberty just won't understand or care and kids at puberty already look at porn or talking about sex with their friends while you think they're doing their homework, I know it might distress allot of parents to know this but your 14 year old daughter is giving head to her boyfriend after school and thats pretty much a fact, I know you think "not my kid, not precious Jonny/Jane they're good Christians, they took the pledge at chastity camp" well I can say with a 90% certainty that you're wrong and that you have no choice in the matter so get a ***** life and stop living in denial.rnrnYes this is painful to hear and I know allot of parents would deny it even be angry that anyone suggested it but enough is enough, EVERYONE gets horny, everyone, the Pope, the President, the Ayatolla and it rages through their head like a guilty secret, this is not blasphemy this is the truth that some people don't want to hear.rnrnTheres an 80% chance your kids have been looking at porn today.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0marked as lame
- DeathonWheels, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That commercial is so tame. Here in canada one of our national networks showed the Sopranos a couple years ago completely uncut at 8pm.
- HeatVision, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Maybe it was rejected since it was an uninventive lame ad.
- electronicmaji, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Yeah were prudes! So what? What are you gonna do about it. We actually like being prudes and where not in the least ashamed.
- godaddy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Way to go Go Daddy.. Advertising on milliondollarbush.com too?!!? awesome!
I love Candice too!! - wilf_brim, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Digg for the softcore pr0n link.
- miggie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The ad would have been funny if she was just washing the window instead of pressing up against it. It was just T&A low brow humor. Personally I don't like looking women's breast because I don't get what's so special about them. You've seen on pair you seen them all. They all have the same dark spot and a nipple.
- meshgiath, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I suppose it would help godaddy if they would do what everyone suggested they do LAST year:
--Fire the virgin 30 year olds in your "marketing" department, hire some talented marketing professionals to make a commercial that actually has something to do with your business--
I regret ever registering domains with these loser jackasses. Somebody get them laid so maybe they'll grow the f#%^ up! - kidlinux, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1What the ***** is wrong with the United States? They'll show a knife wielding man get gunned down on television by a dozen cops armed with pistols and shotguns, but when it comes to breasts, very natural things, you all just freak out!?
GET A ***** GRIP PEOPLE!! - YouKnowMe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That commercial was really bad.
- ryanknapper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Having ads banned and/or rejected seems to be the hottest marketing ploy ever. I don't even care about it and I'm going out of my way to watch the commercial.
- timtoews, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It is also the second or third time GoDaddy's gotten on digg.com FOR FREE!!! The best advertising is the kind you don't have to pay for.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0digg dug. Now on to my porn for the day... thanks digg.com
- yoblin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0pssst ... they get tons of free advertising from press like this
this stuff isn't a mistake on their part; it's all part of the game - RaistlinMajere, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0yeah yeah +digg for boobies
