- nicepants, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2They forgot "Don't send a FWD:FWD:FWD:FWD"
- chess007, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1When did eminem start writing tech articles? That's what cracked me up.
- RasMaj, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think this article is kinda stupid. Whats your best time for minesweep? 5 sec for Easy and 30 sec for Medium
- Tobey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Haha, that was good. +digg
- beedun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Just what we need more n00bz pretending to be 133t.
- JHawk24821, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I would have dugg this sooner, but I was busy playing Mineswee....
I mean, setting my screen resolution to 1600x1200! Yeah, that's what I meant!
(silence)
Awww, crap, who am I kidding? (bangs mouse on Home Simpson mouse pad) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Haha, my res was set at 1024x768....never thought to move it up until now and it's like I have double the space. Sw33t :o)
- micahphd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have a funny feeling that the people who find this lame are adjusting resolution and trying to figure out how to get rid of their 2nd and 3rd toolbars.
Don't be sad cause you are computer newbs, we are here to help you mature in your computing ways =) - conedude13, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nice digg! I read number 3 and immediately changed my background image. lol!
- leomyhero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1don't forget: Install Firefox immediately and remove all shortcuts to IE.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Funny and sooo true its sad :)
- mcfo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Haha! Good read.
- DisposableRob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'd have to disagree with #10 a bit. Play minesweeper, but be insanely good at it.
And where can I get a Buffy wrist rest? - wazoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0haha yeah or have never had a tech job going into peoples houses. this article is true, sad but true.
- aside, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i must be getting old, because i haven't changed the background on my laptop since i reinstalled the OS. also, this morning i was thinking of changing it to either my dog in a wonder woman outfit (for halloween) or from the trip to boston, instead of the usual deviantart photo manipulation.
i'll be a noob before too long - tomerdean, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0lol funny
- ModernTenshi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I completely agree with the no using pictures of family members, significant others, or vacation photos as desktop backgrounds. Working for my universities helpdesk, I see this ALL THE TIME. The major problem I have with it is the fact that they NEVER fit the screen correctly. They're either stretched to high hell, or tiled and therefore look crappier. I'm a big fan of the abstract images though. I also tend to make my own desktop images, usually for whatever game or anime/manga I'm into at the time so I know that no one out there will have the exact same desktop image as me.
- jadewolf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well that was good for a laugh :-P
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0funny as :D
- wilf_brim, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0While true, some of us are transcendent superusers, and can get away with breaking the rules. Thus, I have one of my cats on this LCD, running at (only) 1280x1024 (which happens to be the native resolution, but it works).
- GaDawg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"I have a funny feeling that the people who find this lame are adjusting resolution and trying to figure out how to get rid of their 2nd and 3rd toolbars.

I don't think so micaphd! Been a Network Engineer for 5yrs! This maybe a novelty read for you, I still think it's stupid. - flump, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Great list. The MSN titles one makes you look like a noob though, same with those people who have an essay as their title.
- jeffreym, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0#11 - if you must use system sounds, never use MS defaults.
http://celestial-reasoning.blogspot.com/ - lukeo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0my screen won't go past 1024x768. now i look like a looser compared to all y'all here with your 4000x3000 screens.
- timbtwisted, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If someone has to remind you that raising your res would result more screen space you are infact a noob. None the less this is a pretty poor article, no digg.
- aoe2bug, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0actually i thought this was kinda stupid too. ok the point about "novelty" products is certainly true, and people with stupid desktop backgrounds are generally newbs also, but what the hell is msn titles? get a life, really. and minesweeper, well i think the people who play solitaire are dumb too (get a deck i real life, plus i suck at klondike solitaire so i naturally hate it). the other points are just kinda whatever.
- JAFFA, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yay! I get a mention! Thanks dude
DiGG+ - nomad1984, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0While it doesn't have any relevance to us, still a good read `digg
- Laughingman234, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hehe good stuff.
- qster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0heh I like it, +1 Digg
- hater2win, on 10/12/2007, -0/+011. Write digg+ or +digg or dig++ at the bottom of all of your digg.com comments.
Great read, one of the few I have seen in a while. Thanks!
digg++; - buddyfarr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0NICE!! anyone who is a pc prof knows not to use toilet paper on your monitor. it leaves tiny lint particles all over the screen.... ;)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm sorry but this MSN fanboy screams n00b! Just look at his pic HA!
- littmild, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I loved linuxrewievs guid to beeing l33t even more. But this one was still very funny. +digg
- terminalfreeze, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I don't or have any of those things
My wallpaper is a custom image babylonian shoot. - ReiToei, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0#11 - Writing an article entitled "10 simple steps to stop being a PC n00b"
- Phaedrus73, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That was ok, not to great. What cracked me up is that yet another person on digg refered to it as a lappy. How lamer can you get, you save one letter, and sound like an idiot.
- interiot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nothin' wrong with Minesweeper. It's NP-complete, has variants that include hexagons, etc. Now, Solitaire, that's a different matter.
- Bluezdood, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It had it's moments. (As I look at my dual 17in LCD screens running at 1280x1024)
Muhahahahaaa! - roosteronacid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Let's try that again.. (damnit Digg! allow HTML chars!.. ever heard about htmlspecialchars()?!)
As lon as I got my [random 1337 Linux slogan] t-hirt on, I can do whatever I want! HAHA! - roosteronacid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0As long as I got my t-hirt on, I can do whatever I want! HAHA!
- madd_matt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0*goes off to deviantart to get new background
I tend to use random images from NASA for my background - Gundam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Number 5, (My LCD REALLY likes 1280x1024) 7, (My 7800 says I don't need to) and 10 (Minesweeper FTW) really don't need to be on the list but other than that good read.
- trampish, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hah not nearly complete enough but +diggity for humor and good intentions.
- fani, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0And ... Dont +digg it without reading the damn article
- vstarre, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0who knew I was already so cool?
Solid dark purple backgrounds kick ass! :) - iamtheshow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"When did eminem start writing tech articles? That's what cracked me up."

function digg_it() {
wrapper_full(1,5,136983,2,0,0)
}

{
digg_it()
} - Menthol, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Phew.... I guess I passed. But I gotta stop having that that teal bkg.
:)
+digg - flump, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0why are people taking this list so seriously? seems like they're really uptight about being classed a noob because they happen to do a few this guy thinks you shouldn't.
