I feel like a pirate when I say it. I like to give it a nice pirate accent. registRAAARRRRR!!! - Jcterveer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2any love for dreamhost.com ?
- dusingaz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2FYI
This site gets paid anywhere from $50-$100 when you signup by clicking on someone on their "LIST"
How did this ever get on the front page? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If you can't afford rackspace prices, just use serverbeach.com. Same company, cheaper prices.
- bnoble, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, REALLY sounds like a by-users-for-users sort of service.
Suckers.

nocontactsfound@secureserver.net - mannoo2009, on 04/10/2009, -0/+1I've collected the top 10 web hosting companies at: http://www.webhostingreviewz.com/top-ten-web-hosti ...
- ricodued, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The only problem I have with places like Site 5 is the amount of bandwidth.
http://bluehost.com Support is top-notch and the space, bandwidth, and extras you get are the best value you'll find anywhere. If you find a place better, let me know so I can switch. - danfitch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0www.site5.com rocks. I use it and love it. Support is necessary and site5's support is the best.
www.danfitch.net - muldoonaz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i host my own website on my own dedicated box, kthx :)
- jesusphreak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I don't see one of the best hosts, which is site5.com.
I've had times where two support guys have been up at 1 AM on a Friday morning helping me over AIM with a problem I had. They support Ruby on Rails and anything else you could think of, and they are not expensive at all.
You can't beat them
http://www.site5.com - colelt1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I am a hostsave.com user, and have had them for over a year with 0 downtime.
13/month (pay by the year)
5 gigs storage
500 gigs transfer a month!!!! I use it to host as a cz clan website, and a file server for a few cz and cs servers as the sv_downloadurl, and as just a place to host and hotlink pics and vids, and still only use about 150 of my 500 gigs a month.
They have a cheaper plan for 9/month with 2gigs storage and 200gigs transfer a month.
Linux:
hostsave.com
Windows: (1 gig storage 100 gigs transfer for 9/month)
winsave.com - iceberg299, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I question the validity of this ranking. Do they just rank 100 hosts or are these the true top 100. Where's CrystalTech Web Hosting?
- technstuff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Lunarpages, best support out there, free domain names for as long as you host with them, 7.95 a month will host 2 domains, 22.95 will host 4, unlimited email accounts, mySQL databases, postgreSQL databases, subdomains, etc.
- tryferos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I used Valueweb in the past, good service, no problems and you can get their "professional" account for only $17.95 a month if you are a Costco member.
I currently use 1and1.com and have not had any problems with them. Good pricing and fast service. - eppler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This seems like a referral site. No digg.
- bloodwings, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://www.eleven2.com
- J3bu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I use, http://www.100webspace.com/ never really had a problem, they had a problem once (i was upgrading my plan) but it was delt with in about 10 minutes, good service, I would (and am) recommending them to you all!
- wicked9, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0www.lunarpages.com you cant beat em. Ive been using them for 3 years no problems, they keep upping their numbers also which is nice.
- Exi7wound, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Say it with me-
DREAMHOST
Best host EVAR. - m4v1s, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i host my own website on my own dedicated box, kthx :)
+seconded
apache mysql php ... all free - Protoss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I like my host...its base is 5 feet from me, and can be tuned anytime by myself 24/7. Takes a while to get going, but once you get the server running, its perfect.
- dave_b, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I use webfusion (UK host)
They got bought by a telecoms company about a year ago, Pipex and since my server moved to the Pipex data centre its been problem free. Prior to that I think they were overloading the shared servers. :-) - Wyvers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Anyone know a good host that offers multiple ftp accounts? I'm using 1and1 right now, which is ok and I've had no trouble with them. I've been looking around for a while but I haven't found any host that really offered multiple ftp logins.
- JRMillion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I have a reseller account with HostingZoom.
- klutzo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0We use a small hosting company. Citadel host. Not bad.. cheap and unlim domains.
Downtime fairly minimal. Had about 3 disruptions in the past 2 years or so. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Doesn't even list okihost.com
- idiggeverything, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I use The Planet servers. Using shared hosting is for pussies!
- bebopredux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://www.asmallorange.com/
- briankass, on 04/13/2009, -0/+0i get 10GB webspace 100GB bandwidth for $9.99 month at http://havok-host.com/
- magik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Any cheap ASP.NET 2.0 hosts?
- blindfaith, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Everyone knows the best web hosting site is:
my@home.com unlimited everything and supports everything and anything you want for FREE/month and 100% up time as long as you keep it pluged in =P thats the bottom line... - theGREENsuit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://www.4java.ca
$14.95 CDN/month for a private JVM, private Tomcat, 600 MB space, 10 gig / month bandwitdth, unlimited mysql
Perfect for students that work with Java. - PDelahanty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I love DreamHost and HATE ValueWeb. No reviews for either. Doesn't seem like many reviews at all. I've seen much better listing sites that actually have A LOT of reviews.
NO digg. - zonk3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i use:
http://www.hostforweb.com/
cuz it's cheap, reliable and they have free live tech support (with techs that actually know wtf they are talking about). when you are having issues with a script or such it's a big help. - goodespeler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What a crock of crap. This guy is just an affiliate promoting his site. I gaurantee you that every link to a host on this site is an affiliate link that sets a cookie. As soon as you suckers buy hosting, he gets a commission. These sites are not helpful at all and hosting companies will offer commissions to the affiliate in order to get a better review or ranking.
- Arramol, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Dugg more for the comments than the article. I've been looking for a cheap web host, and these links are really helpful.
- antiTRACE, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Valueweb
50gig HD space
200Gigs transfer
1 domain name for a year
no cost for up/down transfers using ftp (only web to user)
14.95 a month with costco membership (Exec). - jesusfreak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I run my own hosting as well. DNS, MAIL, Web (obviously) etc. etc. One thing it isn't is free. You have to pay for bandwidth and I am not talking dynamic IP either. Oh and you have to put up with that darn fan noise too. :P I am looking to get my server out from under my desk and host my ***** somewhere. Thanks for all the tips :)
- Nightfall, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Another one that is not mentioned on their site.
http://www.dathorn.com
The best webhost I have ever had. :) - kerberon, on 02/08/2009, -0/+0Check out this one.. http://www.ratethehosting.com hosting providers are rated by users
- baldwinmathew, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well, we know Interland and 1x1 won't be on that list. ;) My opinion.
- snlildude87, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i use dreamhost.com
+40 MB of space and +1 GB of BW/week for 7.95/month - rodneygiles, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0eleven2.com - ya!

http://thebestwebhostinglist.info/ - xenlab, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If you can afford it, Rackspace is the best for dedicated hosting. I wouldn't trust my production apps with any one else. And their fanatical support is just that. Not only are the support staff all redhat certified (not an easy thing to obtain, btw, i've looked into it) but they are actually CHEERFUL on the phone. I've had better convos with them than my own mother sometimes. seriously.
- fuelvolts, on 10/12/2007, -1/+01portfolio.com
$19.99 a year for 1.5 GB and 40 GB transfer

- pilotvaughn, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0don't you folks realize no one really cares who you are hosted with?
