- arbulus, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11No, I believe that in the next several hundred years, humans will begin to merge with technology. Cybernetic technology will become the norm. We will be able through cybernetc and nanotechnology to cure any disease and even prevent the aging process. We will no longer need to procreate, so the population that exists at the birth of this new technology will continue to live indefinitely. So, 5 billion years out, we will have become a perfect, harmonious and compassionate society. We will have intergalactic space travel capabilites and will have terraformed and colonized numerous planets so when this star system is destroyed by the sun going nova, the human race will continue on.

- CaptMonkey, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7"We are not special."
How can you say that? In a completely non-religious sense, I think humans are the most special thing that we know of in the entire universe. No other bits of matter have the ability to reason and consider their existence. We are unlike anything else in the known universe. If anything can overcome death, it is us. - nutsackninja, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6It could be worse, it could mean 72 digg users.
