- inactive, on 12/04/2008, -2/+8Look at the tatas on that lovely planet, computer rendered as they may be.
- SkippyDoorknob, on 12/04/2008, -0/+6And 'those' aren't even 'quotation' marks.
- penguinofspades, on 12/04/2008, -1/+5they were talking about species of chemical, there wasn't much about life in that article
- iFrikkenR, on 12/04/2008, -0/+4aren't you going to feel like an idiot when it has several hundred then eh? oh wait it does. how about that! an upcoming article hit the front page, was made popular and lots of people dugg it becuase it's interesting
guess the algorithm works eh? - blackdaisies, on 12/04/2008, -0/+3They can make breast milk ice cream... but do you really want it?
- sirjimithy, on 12/04/2008, -2/+4That lady in the Da Vinci painting? She's a robot.
- Cerebron, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2What the hell are they then, Mr. Smartguy?
- LarianLeQuella, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2FTA: "Some researchers have even speculated whether Venusian microbes could survive high in the planet's atmosphere, where the temperature and pressure are quite Earth-like.
Here, they say, the ultraviolet-absorbing chemical could act as an "umbrella" to shield life forms from the destructive UV rays coming from the Sun."
Hmm, since when is a MICROBE just a species of chemical? I suppose in a LOOSE interpretation. Reading the whole article FTW... - SkippyDoorknob, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2' = apostrophe
" = quotation mark
For the US at least - the article itself uses them the same was as in the US, but for the title in the US, it would be "solved" rather than 'solved'.
Although in the US, both " and ' are horribly misused more and more often by people trying to emphasize words or for no apparent reason at all. - sirjimithy, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2Is it just me, or does the thumbnail look like titty ice cream with inverted nipples?
- LarianLeQuella, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2I'm almost tempted to google titty ice cream!
- inactive, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1O rly?
- LilRabbitFooFoo, on 12/05/2008, -0/+1Inverted nips ftw?
- kleptomaniac, on 12/04/2008, -2/+3The need to 'randomly' put words in 'quotation' marks 'confuses' me.
- TSK05, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1I am reasonably sure that Ozone has stabilized during the recent years (since about 2002) and is expected to increase in amount in the coming years.
- codeblue315, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1So they are convection currents pushing something up into the clouds. Ok, how about we figure out what the hell it is before we make a big deal about it.
- dicer999, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1In before that ACSII pedo bear.
- postitnote, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1Britain's single-quotes are America's double-quotes

- LarianLeQuella, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1FTA (emphasis added): "Some researchers have even speculated whether Venusian MICROBES could survive high in the planet's atmosphere, where the temperature and pressure are quite Earth-like.

Reading FTW... - blackdaisies, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1You're weird. I see Homer Simpson's eyes.
- jgzman, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1In this case, they are properly used. The UV issue is partly solved. We know what is causing the dark spots. We do not, however, know what it is.
That would make more sense with vocal inflection, or at least italics. - latexsolarbeef, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1lol you made my day
btw they really need to get cracking on inventing titty ice cream - LarianLeQuella, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1For those digging down my first comment...
FTA (emphasis added): "Some researchers have even speculated whether Venusian MICROBES could survive high in the planet's atmosphere, where the temperature and pressure are quite Earth-like.

Reading FTW... - jgzman, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1The USA is suffering from a serious science deficit. I recommend a strict regimen of chemistry, physics and astronomy.
- skinturtle, on 12/04/2008, -0/+1It's real dang shame that we 2 other planets in this solar system that have atmospheres...and both are pretty much junk planets.
Wouldn't it have been cool if Mars and Venus were both full of life and we had neighbors. To finally have the technology to visit them. 3 Planets evolving in all different ways.
I feel so alone right now :( - esidyox, on 12/04/2008, -0/+0Yeah, it happens
- lazyslacker, on 12/04/2008, -5/+4Great article, but wow, front page with only 33 diggs? We must've had a science deficit.
- LawScholar, on 06/25/2009, -2/+1It's solved for NOW. Wait until they come out with Venus: Still Alive
- rowlodge, on 12/04/2008, -2/+1it's,"coppertone" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Coppertone.jpg
- jdpugsle, on 12/04/2008, -3/+1Great article mate! I enjoyed it.
- LarianLeQuella, on 12/03/2008, -9/+4Aside from the over-speculative ramblings about possible life, it was an interesting article.
- PeanutCheeseBar, on 12/04/2008, -7/+2I can't believe this made front page with 29 diggs, and it doesn't reference Obama/Apple/Bacon/xkcd.
- MarineDigg80, on 12/04/2008, -5/+0Thats great scientists can solve problems on Venus, yet our Ozone is being depleted and we can't solve that mystery. YAY!!!! Go VENUS!!!!!!!
ps that pic was still cool though. - Venemous, on 12/04/2008, -8/+2Just 30 diggs and front page???

What is Digg?
