If Mars was actually going to be this close to the Earth, don't you think you would have heard it from a source other than some obscure blog? Burying for innacuracy, sorry. - stbaoluo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Actually, I heard about this from some friends today. Since I live in the Caribbean, I have a perfect horizon to see such events.
What I saw was not 2 full moons, but one waning moon. Mars was also in the night sky in a relatively close proximity to the path of the moon. Otherwise, not much more happen. - mookieXL, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Same here. Spammed by this story every few weeks.
- jarv, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I got emailed this again last week.
Mars is on the other side of the sun at the moment, over 2.5AU away, about 240,000,000 miles: http://mars.jpl.nasa.gov/allabout/nightsky/nightsky03.html#marsearthorbit - Galeanap, on 08/28/2008, -0/+0It is HOT! TWO MOONS AUGUST 27 VIDEO >> http://celebztv.com/interview/?p=two-moons-august- ...
