- gubatron2, on 06/05/2008, -3/+8I find it funny that we can't even talk to Dolphins or Dogs, or Chimps, like literally have a full 2-way communication and know exactly what the hell they really want to tell us...
and we expect to understand extra-terrestrial messages?
Maybe we're overwhelmed with their messages and we just don't know its them talking to us. - ElbertF, on 06/05/2008, -0/+5It's pretty easy to communicate with a dog. You don't have to understand the language to confirm that there is something intelligent out there, which is all they're trying to do for now. It's probably enough to pick up any signal that isn't natural.
- jiqiren, on 06/05/2008, -0/+5It is far worse that that... the human race still struggles to communicate with each other.
- luckyguy2000, on 06/05/2008, -0/+4its not about communicating, its about discovery. and were pretty good at disovering even low "intelligent" beings like insects. so its pretty believable that we could discover a high intelligent lifeform far away too.
and as soon as we discovered them we can try to communicate. but i guess thats the hardest part of it all. - cliquee, on 06/05/2008, -0/+2haha.. i found the comment more interesting than the actual article...

- CosmicSombrero, on 06/06/2008, -0/+1I worked there a couple years back. Cool facility. The staff were pretty excited at the time in that they had just got the first dozen or so dishes synced - and they demonstrated this by programming them to "dance."
- ysss, on 06/05/2008, -0/+1I thought we're hoping to find new technology by searching for ETs.
- WoundedCow, on 06/05/2008, -1/+1I got so bored reading what seemed to be a good headline.
- PanicAK, on 06/05/2008, -3/+0I thought everyone knew that "aliens" are actually humans from the future, and have discovered time travel... They're just checking themselves out, keeping a low profile. There are no aliens in space, only from the future.
