- vortexgenerator, on 11/29/2008, -0/+8No dude, you totally fail, from Wikipedia: "Ice is a solid phase, usually crystalline, of a non-metallic substance that is liquid or gas at room temperature, such as ammonia ice or methane ice. However, the word "ice" normally means water ice, technically restricted to one of the 15 known crystalline phases of water. In non-scientific contexts, it usually describes ice Ih, which is known to be the most abundant of these phases. It can appear transparent or an opaque bluish-white colour, depending on the presence of impurities such as air. The addition of other materials such as soil may further alter the appearance".
- Nosyn, on 11/29/2008, -0/+7Wtf is H20? I thought it was H2O...
- littlegraydude, on 11/29/2008, -1/+7Something I'll never understand is why scientists are 100% convinced of the fact that water is necessary to support life. Obviously, that's the case here on Earth, but the way in which life evolves on other planets could be entirely different, requiring a different form of nourishment to survive. We are using ourselves as a basis for hypothesizing about other planets and it might be inaccurate. You know?
- imnotashinobi, on 11/29/2008, -0/+4SEGA!

- hartley, on 11/29/2008, -0/+3Any high res pictures?
- AgentVladimir, on 11/29/2008, -1/+3Plumes of gas erupting from a giant object? There are times when your mum jokes just aren't enough.

seems nasa doesn't even have a high res version (listed).

- arkaycee, on 11/29/2008, -0/+1Fail fail.
- ravetildon1, on 11/30/2008, -0/+0I wonder what life forms it has?
http://www.vacation-rental-wonderland.com/vacation ... - chill613, on 11/29/2008, -0/+0Its only logical to use Earth as a platform to take our existing knowledge and apply it to furthering our exploration of life within our solar system and beyond. More importantly, if we are able to find these kinds of possibilities for life right here in our solar system, that pretty much clinches the notion that there must be life thriving throughout the Universe, whether or not there is life that has reached what we would consider intelligent/civilization is still up in there air.. it still doesn't change the fact that life is out there.. we just have to find it.. or evolve past our violent nature so we don't pick up the nearest weapon if other intelligent life decides to contact us.
- a3zk210, on 01/09/2009, -0/+0Thank you, wonderful

http://www.r5r5.net - CATSCEO2, on 11/29/2008, -2/+2What other liquid can you think of that would take the place of water in cells?
- plato1123, on 11/29/2008, -1/+1Man that pretty much means heat and liquid water underground so it would take virtually nothing to create an underwater space station... the temperature is already about perfect... not really any other place in the solar system you can claim that
- DukeofBurl, on 01/14/2009, -0/+0The universe is soooo cool. I found another wonder. http://www.acaiberry321.com
- RawMeat3000, on 11/29/2008, -1/+1I'm convinced that life can exist just about anywhere. For all we know life could exist on Venus, evolved on the rocky surface of the planet, in pools of sulfuric acid, it breathes carbon dioxide, and requires sulfuric acid to break down it's food, which are the minerals in rocks. This isn't even very far fetched, since there's a bacterium on Earth that does almost exactly that.
- TheInformer, on 11/29/2008, -2/+1Not to thread crap, but wasn't this reported months ago?
- Frozo, on 11/29/2008, -3/+1Supersonic? How about superaquatic?
- rifa, on 11/29/2008, -2/+0I would also have to agree. Do we truly know how life would evolve on another planet? Without water. Just because cells on earth exist on water doesn't mean that they would exist on another planet without it. Science can't answer all the questions...I mean they say that we need oxygen to survive and our atmosphere has a good portion of nitrogen in it, so how does that make sense?
- spreadheadTC, on 11/29/2008, -5/+1Greatest ***** ever.
- supersonicjim, on 11/29/2008, -5/+1That's what she said
- inactive, on 11/29/2008, -6/+1I wish if it were petrol.
- eroc668, on 11/29/2008, -5/+0and it's bottles are made of 40% plastic!
- akchrs, on 11/29/2008, -8/+2When the huge plumes of water vapor and ice particles make their way to earth they will stop global warming and restore balance, forcing Al Gore into a life of obscurity and shame.
- davecachia, on 11/28/2008, -7/+1^--- Mine is cheaper
