- jshriver, on 08/14/2009, -1/+6I love the space program. I'm envious of my parents generation. They saw the first man on the moon, first man in space, first of a lot of wonderful things. We at least have the rovers though, ISS, and the Hubble.
- CATSCEO2, on 08/14/2009, -0/+3There is a possibility of silicon based life, but carbon is the best at making complex molecules needed for life.

But one thing I've never understood is how are scientists so sure that Carbon is necessary for life? I understand it's in all living things on Earth - but isn't it possible that life could be created without Carbon in other areas of the Universe? After all, we've never seen other life forms so why couldn't this be true... - killdashnine, on 08/14/2009, -0/+1Mmmm ... methany

- kjones555, on 08/14/2009, -0/+1I hope that we can see people land on the Mars. I'm no astronomer or pretend to know anything about space travel, but I'm a little disappointed that we went to the moon in 1969 and haven't gone back and won't be able to make a move for Mars anytime soon. I think I'm just impatient...
- tushyd, on 08/14/2009, -0/+1Not to mention all the "smaller" missions like Cassini-Huygens or Chandra X-Ray Observatory...
How about the Space Shuttle program?
And I'm not sure how old you are but you could very well see people landing on Mars. - Junkyarddawg, on 08/15/2009, -0/+1I don't really get how Titan is claimed to be similar to Earth. The similarity is extremely superficial, the Earth was never frozen solid with bedrock made of water ice and rains of methane over methane lakes. Titan is about as alien compared to Earth as Venus is, and more so than Mars.
It's a very interesting world in its own right. Not everything has to be a "model of Earth". - jshriver, on 08/14/2009, -0/+1I agree. Believe it was Buzz Aldrin who recently said something akin to "Screw going back to the moon, time to get some guts and go to Mars"
Having someone (any nation) send a successful manned mission to Mars in my lifetime would be wonderful. - javiero, on 08/14/2009, -1/+1What kinda name is "Nickelback" anyway?
