- hellengineer, on 08/30/2009, -1/+4amazing stuff how all these parts have to fit together to make it work.
- sproket, on 08/31/2009, -1/+3Blah blah. No one in space.
- 3rdDay, on 08/31/2009, -1/+3More of this sort of thing. And glad to see the UK ban on sending people into space has been lifted.
- BookaShade, on 08/31/2009, -1/+2A little biased. The UK leader in robotics? Yea right.
Look its great that the UK is getting more involved in space but lets lay of stretching the truth. buried. bury me please. - localzuk, on 09/01/2009, -1/+1Huh? A list of people's names? A couple of dates? How is that biased?
- DrSnugglebunny, on 08/31/2009, -1/+1Hey, right by my house! Cool! Stevenage is indeed rather sleepy. Maybe this will wake it up.
- erkokite, on 08/31/2009, -1/+1EADS Astrium has engineering work here. I applied for a job, but no luck. :(
- localzuk, on 08/31/2009, -1/+1There is a *lot* more to space tech than putting people up there... Although we have had Brits in space -
British-born astronauts who have flown in space include:
* Helen Sharman, the first Briton in space, who flew on the Soyuz TM-12 mission.
* Michael Foale, who flew on the STS-45, STS-56, STS-63, STS-84, STS-86 and STS-103 Space Shuttle flights as well as the Soyuz TMA-3, and stayed on both the Mir and International Space Station.
* Gregory H. Johnson, who flew on the STS-123 Shuttle mission.
and these 2 who are US citizens:
* Piers Sellers, who flew on the STS-112 and STS-121 Shuttle missions.
* Nicholas Patrick, who flew on the STS-116 Shuttle mission.
The UK is a key member of ESA, and we do a huge amount of work for projects such as the ISS, for satellite work, robotics and much more. - BookaShade, on 08/31/2009, -1/+1I hope your websites you look up all that information are not as biased and opinionated as this article....
They sure sound like it. - localzuk, on 08/31/2009, -2/+1'Finally doing'? The British space program has been in existence for as long as anyone else's... Our first all British satellite was launched on an all British launch vehicle in 1971. Or our first British satellite in 1962...
- Xhysa, on 08/31/2009, -3/+2Pfft, just wait until the chavs get a hold of it.
