Spider Crater, Western Australia
nasa.gov — This spider's not just big, it's old. This prehistoric monster crawls out of the past as if to remind us of the destructive power of the cosmos.

- bosssmiley, on 04/23/2008, -1/+6There's some crazy geology over in Oz.
There's apparently an area in northern Western Oz called the Bungle Bungles ( http://www.google.com/search?q=Bungle+Bungles ) that's supposed to make Monument Valley look like a glorified rockery.
Here's the kicker: Western Oz is so damn big & empty that the Bungle Bungles weren't even discovered until the 1960s!- junglejay, on 04/23/2008, -0/+3Well, apart from the Aboriginal people that have been in the area for thousands of years
- chrisxwhaley, on 04/23/2008, -5/+0This is Australia? Looks like a T-Bone steak!

As man had succumbed to the Martians, so our land now succumbed to the red weed."

- randomizer9, on 04/23/2008, -0/+5Spider crater, spider crater, does whatever a spider crater does...
Neat picture. - Godmil, on 04/23/2008, -0/+3OK, just to be clear... this is simply a name, and a series of metaphors. There isn't actually any spiders here.
- ElFredo, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1A river runs through it.
- darecamel, on 04/23/2008, -0/+0Looks like a steak.
- Pyehole, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1Your dog wants a spider crater?
- mashw, on 04/23/2008, -0/+2It's false colour. I guess they thought it would be sexier if made to look like meat.
- steveoco, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1I thought it was a cross section of a brain.
- lintmonkey, on 04/23/2008, -1/+4You must not have read the title. It's a spider crater in western Australia.
- damnitpud, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1Looks like the Earth is having brain surgery =)
- ahhell, on 04/23/2008, -0/+2It wasn't a spider. It was a giant crab. We need to find the weak spot so we attack it for massive damage.
- benjic, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1Wow, reaching into your old bag o memes are ya?
