- bromac, on 09/10/2009, -1/+14Just green? That's common. We see them all the time up here in the north.
Red and purple are rarer, and when you get all three colours it's spectacular. - cyberthief, on 09/10/2009, -0/+3I have bundled up in every down thing i own and snuggled into the snow in my front yard in -25c. and watched hte best northern lights ever. Red , blue, white and green light swirling, pulsating , some of it trying to reach down and touch me.. pretty awesome. One of the only things i will miss about living in northern bc in the winter.
- ambivalent, on 09/10/2009, -0/+3I took this one in Ottawa Canada. The houses look like they are in daylight due to long exposure underneath sodium based street lights. Just thought I would point it out before the cries of "Photoshopped" start.

- wolfzombie, on 09/10/2009, -0/+2Nice shot with the Elk skull in the foreground.
- cyberthief, on 09/11/2009, -0/+1i used to live in Smithers bc. beautiful place. Late october seemed to have the most lights action
- Rikushix, on 09/10/2009, -0/+1Where did you live in BC?
I wish this happened as far south as Vancouver. - JakeBC, on 09/10/2009, -0/+1The problem with every northern lights photo I have seen is that they look all smudgy due to the long exposures needed to photograph them. In real life, they are sharp and move across the sky like neon curtains in the wind.
- sirbeta, on 09/10/2009, -2/+2Well it's not hard to make that connection considering that the Vista background was inspired by them.
- JT114881, on 09/10/2009, -2/+1Did anyone else see this and think of the Windows Vista background?
- reptarman, on 09/10/2009, -3/+0Cool, but this does not compare to APOD.
- diggiby, on 09/10/2009, -7/+183 pics on Digg alone of this phenomenon. Isn't it getting a little redundant?
