- theholotrope, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Oh, for *****'s sake... I was just about to buy my ticket on orbitz!
- Aticper, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Please tell me you left a /sarcasm off of the end of that.
- sideshowRAHEEM, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7They raised the price from 25 million to some where between 30 and 40 million, Damn these gas prices are getting out of hand.
- ominpotent123, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4$25 million was reasonable, but for 30 mil i wont be able to afford ice cream and souvenirs! Just shameful!
- frimple, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Boo... bad blog spamer
- mendicant, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4It's not that the price has increased, it's that the value of the dollar has fallen. Used to be 1 dollar = 32 rubles and now it's only 25 1/2. So the moral of the story is, Save the Dollar and and the trips still on!
- aliengoods, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Looks like I'll need another no-bid contract from the government. Those things are money!
- jhuang16888, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3*sigh* looks like i'm going to sea world instead...
- didoubleg, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2What are you all worried about, I'll just wait for coupon day!
- joelav22, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2for a family of 4 you'll only be saving around 30$US
- Nedlog23, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2No thanks. For 25+ million I'll just build my own rocket in my barn.
- skjede, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3Where's William Shatner when you need him?
- FatalTragedy316, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Hopefully they'll start offering $5 million rebates on coke cans...
- ominpotent123, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1You'll have to be one hell of a negotiator to get THIS down to $99!
- jhuang16888, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1they were giving out $24,999,995 coupons in the newspaper, next time don't throw away that section, although now they sort of screwed us all over
- krustytroll, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0damn! i thought i could claim with my frequent flyer miles...
- Aticper, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Well, that's it then.
Back to building my own ride... let's see here, I'm going to need some big hydrogen balloons to get me most of the way, those aren't too expensive, some hydrogen and oxygen tanks (for life support and fuel), those aren't bad either, an airtight, insulated container of some kind, maybe an old, reinforced chest refrigerator. Then there's some surplus oxygen candles, I can get those from NASA, some reinforced Plexiglas, a space heater, a good battery, and a laptop so I can blog. I'll also need a bunch of parachutes, some padding, and a big chunk of metal to act as a heat shield... probably insulated from the craft by plastic - when the plastic melts, the heat shield comes off and triggers the parachute.
As far as rockets go, I'll need a couple of big, sturdy metal pipes to rout the fuel through, and a game boy joystick to steer the thing.
Hmmm... sounds like I can do this for a lot cheaper than thirty million dollars... - ProvoloneNinja, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Let the rich beta test low orbit so when it becomes as prevalent as air travel all the schmucks will be floating frozen corpses and we can point at them as we pass in our Moller space cars.
- markp93, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1That is the same pic I have on my desktop... cool!
- longbow486, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0i bet all you have to do is proove that the russian missles are not safe...
