- Stachzilla, on 10/11/2007, -2/+13their form is all wrong... it's supposed to be coupling arm to exhaust port, NOT escape hatch to exhaust port. I'm beginning to doubt all that money that goes to NASA was spent on the important stuff like teaching the basics of airplane to space craft mating techniques and how you should always use a heat shield on your coupling arm to prevent damage to the control mechanism. With the amount of use that 747's get these days...you can never be too careful.
- stupidverizon, on 10/11/2007, -2/+12Perhaps the whale was trying to launch the dolphin into space....hmmm...
- borninda818, on 10/11/2007, -2/+11Like the title...well put
- vaga222, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8Quick! Dr Evil is stealing the space shuttle. He must be stopped.
- Crossmenjeff, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9oh great, another shuttle/aircraft baby being made. i'm telling you people this is an epidemic....wait, the shuttle is covered.... okay we might have hope.
- tsk1979, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9Dugg for the Aeroporns
- Balanced, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9I really wish they'd scale the pictures to a reasonable size... Especially when they're not particularly high-quality like this one.
- g33b33, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8isnt that OVER a full moon? :-)
- Optimaximal, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5It didn't the first time and still didn't the second time

Can we get some new air/space craft please? - ggoyal, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Great Quick Start Guide. Not confusing at all.
Otherwise I could have put black side up. - DonnieMarco, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Imagine the excess baggage fee.
- dypchit, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Heya, haven't done any research on this, but are there images of how they load the shuttle onto the plane?
- tehWyman, on 08/19/2009, -0/+3Daddy, where do Cessna's come from?
- guise, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5Atlantis:boeing::dolphin:whale
- vroom101, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I seriously doubt NASA's 747 jets or their current space shuttle fleet will be flying anywhere near the moon anytime soon. So way under the moon they go!
- dawesdust12, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3There are 46 blades on that Carrier Aircrafts jet intake
- Optimaximal, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3It's all about perspective...
- TPrime, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Should've been "Going to the moon, BRB"
- Davede70, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3It must be pretty difficult to fly that 747 with the Shuttle on top. I bet that guy is a hell of a pilot.
- JohnnyXmas, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4In the few months after birth, the young boeingling is known to clutch to its mother's back back for protection and travel until its wings are fully developed.
- djAnakin, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Well.. airplanes don't run on puppy fur and happy thoughts.
- radix76v2, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5Atlantis to 747: Uh, guys, i`m still not thinking that you can carry us the whole way up.
747 to Atlantis: We`ll show you. See that moon? That`s our destination! - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Wasn't this done is "Moonraker"?
- nextag82, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2i never understood how they got the shuttle on top of the plane
- digjam, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2whats the aero baby called? sh-aircraft ??? or air- uttle?
- GiggleStick, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I think they're heading directly towards the moon. They just thought they'd see how that works before they bother with all that Orion stuff.
- Kash04, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2is there a vid of how they get it ontop?

http://www.dfrc.nasa.gov/Gallery/Movie/747_SCA/index.html - vroom101, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1If the formatting looks weird it's because something funny happened in the DIGG commenting system. When I first posted the comment it looked proper. I'm guessing things got scrunched up because the comment is near the end of a logical page, i.e., pagination is about to occur -- but that's just a guess.
- vroom101, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Don't think it's pagination, maybe it's the cutting and pasting into the comment box.
