Six Earth Cities as Blueprints for Martian Settlers

io9.com — If humans land on Mars by 2037 as NASA hopes, they'll need cities modeled on ones that already exist in extreme climates on Earth. Here are six high-tech (and a few low-tech) cities that would have a passing shot at survival in the Martian climate.

  • akamakavely, on 03/29/2008, -2/+2If humans land on Mars by 2037... that's sad remember america's great ambition to land on the moon !? why do we need something as bad as a "race with another country better yet an enemy to have great ambitions if the space rush would have persisted for the good of science and mankind then we'd be on mars a long time ago ...hell we might even have restaurants on there by know....

    It's sad that more people don't have this same mentality about the wonderful planet we're already inhabiting. But nahhh, just be sure to keep that in mind when colonizing on Mars - the wonderful desert rock that it is... -_-;;
