- hockyfight, on 10/10/2007, -11/+202OR! You could look at the moon any night through a cup of delicious cherry Koolaid...You Choose.
- jjremy, on 10/10/2007, -3/+75OH YEAH!
- benbread, on 10/10/2007, -16/+62This is pretty much going to be a US-only event. Digg is an international website people, is it really too hard to just note which country the story relates to in the title/description?
- Roksix, on 10/10/2007, -2/+31I am still waiting for the day when "CHA" is burned into the moon.
- CaviMike, on 10/10/2007, -1/+21It could also mean it's time to start making up your own comments.
- DaleoftheUK, on 10/10/2007, -0/+16This already happened not long ago here in the UK (and I'm guessing the rest of Europe). I even took some pic's:

That's what you got to look forward to. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+18and then we can snap into a slim jim?
- OfF3nSiV3, on 10/10/2007, -3/+18what about europe?
- ragingradish, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14Not quite US only: http://media.skyandtelescope.com/images/Aug07_LunEcli_NA_Map_640.jpg
- loneraven, on 10/10/2007, -5/+16You know it works the other way around too, right? People from europe posting things that relate to europe and never mention it in their title.
Maybe it doesn't happen much, but it does.
Also, in case you haven't realized, Digg is a site owned by US citizens and it's primary traffic is from the US and Canada. - brian1625, on 10/10/2007, -4/+14And Heroes comes out on DVD the 28th. Neat. [The Logo is an Eclipse]
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9Eclipse babies have horns and it's good luck to rub an eclipse baby's head.
- Jugalator, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9Here's a calendar for the rest of the world:
http://sunearth.gsfc.nasa.gov/eclipse/LEcat/LEdecade2001.html
Or use this calculator: (look at "form b" to input other places than in the US, giving it the long/lat)
http://aa.usno.navy.mil/data/docs/LunarEclipse.html - Stryker412, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Here's a good map that'll show how it's viewed throughout the entire world. The black areas have the best views.
http://www.hermit.org/Eclipse/2007-08-28/ - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Nope, he's right. Eclipses have been happening for billions of years. This is the duplicate of all duplicates. Bury it for being old...like the earth.
Oops..../sarcasm - retawd, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Spoooooooooooooooooooooooooooon!
- smackywentz, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Tell me, how long does it take to cut off your devil tail?
- McTendo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Thanks for the flashback, I must now purchase the entire series without question.
- techlyc, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8It's gonna be perfectly visible from the Black Rock high desert in northern Nevada as well. All those crazy hippies are gonna have front row seats at Burning Man. And I'm gonna be right there with them. Red Moon? Right there with my Green Clovers, Blue Stars and Purple Horseshoes.
- UNL1M1T3D, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5This is cool, but it involves getting up earlier then I want to.
- WhiteIce89, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5For some of us it's really early.. for others it's just a little late.
- myFriendDerrik, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Dr Ray Stantz: I remember Revelations 7:12...?And I looked, and he opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake. And the sun became as black as sack cloth, and the moon became as blood."
-Ghostbusters - Durrok, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Guess you should have submitted a story about it :)
- ChileanGoD, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Sorcery!
- evilregis, on 10/10/2007, -3/+7I get up a 5:30am every morning as it is... I guess I can set my alarm a half-hour to an hour earlier. I'd love to catch this.
- RMoore08, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3what about it?
- m3mn0n, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3How could you call anything Astronomy-related a US-only event? You do realize Canada and Mexico border your country and we don't have giant blankets over our nations, right?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Red mold is the worst mold.
- kd1s, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Oh I'll be out there at 4AM taking pictures and looking with a pair of binoculars. I love events like this.
- OisinT, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3I think we had one in March. Here in Ireland, I remember the moon was huge and low in the sky (bigger than I'd ever seen it). before the lunar eclipse it turned almost purple then after it was red. (maybe thats backwards)
- sixdust, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Anyone going to take pics of the moon? If so, what gear?
- BurgerDST, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Isn't a blood red moon a sign of the apocalypse? Rut Ro Raggy.
- toconnor, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3FTA "this event marks the first central lunar eclipse since 2000"
- Calico182, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2and here's what it looked like from South Africa http://www.flickr.com/photos/calico182/409294288/ on 3 March this year.
- AHippie, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2That's the first day I go back to school... hmm ;)
- Zackypooh, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4or people could actually read the article BEFORE digging it.
- moocow1452, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Were doomed. Doomed!
*gasp* "Doooooooooooooooooommmm-deh!" - moofer, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Here are some good configuration/settings:
http://www.mreclipse.com/LEphoto/TLE2004Oct/TLE2004Oct-1A.html - moofer, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Don't you think it would be equally as useful to RTFA?
- Speedy7, on 10/10/2007, -5/+7Already saw the march one, and im going to miss the 28th because i dont live in America
- Sube6491, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I saw this once on the freeway a couple of years ago. I was with my friends and the moon was the biggest I'd ever seen it and bright orange. Truly breathtaking.
- NeoRicen, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1It's going to be full visible in the most populated parts of Australia and all of New Zealand as well. Also the perfect viewing spot is smack bang in the middle of the pacific.
- smackhero, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1wow, beautiful shots, guys. i've never quite seen anything like that before. thanks for the links.
- smackhero, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1this link from the same site might be more informative: http://www.mreclipse.com/LEphoto/LEphoto.html
- LegendarySock, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Gah, I'm going to miss out because I live in Quebec.
- AlbinoRaven, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1It's a called a harvest moon.
http://home.hiwaay.net/~krcool/Astro/moon/moonorange/ - minorproblem, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yes between 6pm and 9pm.
- petebert, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2people outside of the U.S. use the internet? wierd
- NeoRicen, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Camera maybe...
- RMoore08, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1On that link: "The darkened area sees the WHOLE PARTIAL eclipse"
