- roosevans, on 05/15/2008, -0/+5The pragmatic and practical side of me says space exploration is a waste of money in the context of all the serious problems we have here on earth. The risk taking and adventurous side of me delights in the reality of space exploration. The reality of an International Space Station orbiting the earth is exciting. There is something about looking up to the sky that inspires and strengthens the human spirit. Maybe Plato was right, all humans come from a star in the galaxies and return to that star at death. "Reaching for the stars" literally and figuratively is inherent in the human spirit, as I see it.
