tgdaily.com — NASA has new webpages about its Constellation project and Ares rocket, which is expected to return America to the moon by 2020. Cool stuff.

- michaelpinto, on 07/02/2008, -0/+6It's depressing to think that it will take us 12 years to return to the moon when the original Apollo program took less than ten years from start to moon walk. The Chinese and Russians will be landing on the moon well before 2020, instead we should get serious about going to Mars.
- richlizard24, on 07/03/2008, -1/+2A lot more money was being pumped into NASA in the 60s. All things considering, 12 years isn't that bad.
- MarkusX, on 07/03/2008, -2/+1...and isn't that the plan, to build a moonbase, from which the astronauts will be going to mars?
Startrek is calling...- starmanjones, on 07/03/2008, -0/+3no.
- tradun, on 07/03/2008, -0/+2It need not take 12 years if NASA would consider alternatives to the Ares rockets. The Jupiter rockets in the DIRECT 2.0 proposal would have _operational_ flights by 2012, not just tests. And with the current Thrust Oscillation troubles in the Ares design, who can tell how much the schedule will slip or the costs increase.
- starmanjones, on 07/03/2008, -1/+1i agree. i think they could be there in 2 years. four years for sure. i'll meet them when they land and show them around. :D
- Goonder, on 07/03/2008, -0/+1From the article, this direct link to the NASA site in question: http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/constellation/ar ...
- worldpeace25, on 07/04/2008, -1/+0Yes, I interested in staying up to date with NASA’s flight program. It's cool.
- stephenmeb, on 07/04/2008, -0/+2As fast as things are progressing, doesn't it seem like we might get back to the moon before 2020?
