(Dug for boston.com) - juankovo, on 06/26/2009, -8/+23Earth sure is an amazingly big place, isn't it? Well, that all depends on your perspective: http://bit.ly/jVLAK
- CivicTV, on 08/14/2009, -0/+11So my father works for NASA, and I get emails all the time with pictures like these, so I proposed a question to him. If NASA is so hard-up for funding why don't they sell some of these images on nice prints? I'm sure people would buy the ***** out of these, and the money goes to further space exploration.
- nsanidy, on 06/27/2009, -0/+10Boston.com never disappoints with their photo sets. Makes me want to go to space... like.. now.
- PotentPotables, on 06/27/2009, -0/+718 looks so cool. Love Boston.com photos.
- DouglasQ, on 06/27/2009, -0/+7It's bigger than anywhere else I've been.
- vroom101, on 06/26/2009, -1/+6High-resolution photos (medium & large versions for all pics, huge versions for selected pics) of that spectacular Sarychev Peak volcanic eruption: http://chamorrobible.org/gpw/gpw-200906.htm
- codyman, on 06/27/2009, -0/+5I like how in 1969 everyone was constantly glued to the tube to watch in awe at the idea of space, and now it's like meh, oh look, yet another space picture taken from outer space... yawn

Used in a lot of dry areas. Space usually isn't an issue, e.g. the West in the US or the Sahara. - Archer007, on 06/27/2009, -0/+4http://shopnasa.com/store/go/about-us/
Closest thing I could find to an official NASA store. Most likely they legally can't have one because of federal law (I'm betting it has to be explicitly authorized or something like that). - dafragsta, on 06/27/2009, -0/+4My god! It's full of ...fractals!
- AmericanGunner, on 06/27/2009, -0/+4"I'm gonna be the first one to see em all!"
- Twoje, on 06/27/2009, -0/+4Mother ***** that's insane. I wish we could travel to those places, or at least understand them in the slightest. It's really frustrating having no clue about them, and what we do know (or think we know) might actually be completely wrong (like the galaxy that is 8 times as big as ours indicates). Ugh, ***** pathetic humans.
- drivingalone, on 06/27/2009, -0/+3I can see my apartment in #31. Hi self!
- SMB20, on 06/27/2009, -0/+3Wow.
- inactive, on 06/27/2009, -0/+3Mesa called Jar Jar Binks!
- asgardshill, on 06/27/2009, -0/+3So why do Egyptians use circular fields? Seems very wasteful of space.
- BPL710, on 06/27/2009, -0/+3"Thats no moon."
- SkippyBiffles, on 06/27/2009, -2/+5FTA: "The sun glints off Lake Poopó in Bolivia. Lake Poopó is a 1,000 sq km saline lake lying 3,686 meters above sea level."
Lake Poopó hehe. - snowysnowcones, on 06/27/2009, -0/+2All I can think when I view these pictures is
"This is SO cool!" - DeskFlyer, on 06/27/2009, -0/+2The photo of Mount Fuji is awesome. The peak clearly obstructs part of the far side of the mountain base even when viewing from an relatively tame oblique angle from 200+ miles in orbit. Very cool stuff.
- c0ncept, on 06/27/2009, -1/+3Since forever.
- DirtPile, on 06/27/2009, -0/+2Seems like you already are.
- CivicTV, on 08/14/2009, -0/+2Yeah thats what basically what he said, but I mean hell it's a good idea no?

- chugatussin, on 06/27/2009, -0/+1What I would give to see the earth from up there...
- CitizenSnipps, on 06/27/2009, -1/+2Don't drop your camera! You'd have to go all the way down to get it back.
- Bullislander05, on 06/27/2009, -0/+1Look closely and you can see Mark Sanford in #8.
- ChileanGoD, on 06/27/2009, -0/+1#24 looks like a piece of art.
- Twoje, on 06/27/2009, -0/+1At first, I thought someone made a trail in the shape of a giant penis in #12. Then I thought it looked like a ***** drawing of Yoshi or Dino. Then I read the caption and now I feel gay and stupid.
- thegrantman, on 06/27/2009, -0/+1Picture #3 looks like cauliflower that's been sitting in the fridge for a month.
- cl191, on 06/27/2009, -0/+1i love that they put google maps link in the description of the pictures too!

- zomgflamer, on 06/27/2009, -0/+1Wow, its trip maaan. I want to be an asstronut.
- DirtPile, on 06/27/2009, -0/+1The shot of Chicago could not have been after April 15, when the boat slips open for the year. Judging by the lack of water traffic, the shot must have been from very early spring or late winter.
- kerbe6, on 06/27/2009, -0/+1I didn't realize they had such a closeup view.
- inactive, on 06/27/2009, -0/+0#35 Wow, I didn't know you could make .gifs that big....since when?.
- soban, on 06/27/2009, -1/+1We (Saudi Arabia) have more circular fields :P http://rst.gsfc.nasa.gov/Sect3/kansas_AST_2001175. ...
