- nospinhere, on 04/16/2008, -1/+16What an ignorant statement. First of all, the Pioneer was developed and launched when NASA's budget was huge. Secondly, the mystery has to do with previously unknown scientific knowledge, whether it be unknown gravity properties of the universe or heat emission as mentioned in this article. So as you can see money and NASA's current budget, while is a problem, has absolutely zero relevance in relation to this article and problem.

- dgendreau, on 04/16/2008, -0/+8I think the virgin mobile bling phone would look great shoved up your ass! And no, I dont want to see a video of that.
- evilregis, on 04/16/2008, -0/+7Yeah, you're right. NASA wouldn't know enough to account for all of that like you would.
- Rebeca, on 04/16/2008, -0/+6"'It’s like CSI,' says Turyshev."
CSI: Space? I'd watch it. - Hanker, on 04/16/2008, -1/+7still believe that huh?...
- sagat, on 04/16/2008, -1/+7Don't mind them Pioneer you go your own way!
- gerrylazlo, on 04/16/2008, -0/+5Congratulations, you are a total ***** retard.

- deuceswilde, on 04/16/2008, -0/+4it's been partly laid to rest
- JQP123, on 04/16/2008, -0/+3The invisible sky daddy did it. He obviously doesn't want us invading his realm beyond the "firmament".
- wynja, on 04/16/2008, -0/+3It will be fun to watch how this anomaly pans out. This is however not the only anomaly that points to a flawed understanding of gravity on our part. The need to have 90% of the universe as "dark matter" is due our current gravitational model not allowing galaxies to remain together. With the current estimated weight of matter in our galaxy, according to current models the galaxy should fly apart. It mysteriously doesn't though, which is why scientist have invented the 90% "dark matter" rule to keep this from happening.
- wynja, on 04/16/2008, -0/+3Wow, yeah, NASA is making this up. Just like they staged the moon landing in a Hollywood studio then silenced the 100s of people it would have taken to make the fake moon landing.
- Neem, on 04/16/2008, -3/+6Great, ignorance is finally the major shared trait at digg.
- inactive, on 04/16/2008, -0/+3At the exact same rate for each spacecraft at opposite sides of the solar system? Staggeringly unlikely.
- endlessoul, on 04/16/2008, -0/+2I say it's the Thetans fault.
- cawpin, on 04/16/2008, -0/+2If you spray superglue into the vacuum of space, does it stick to fingerprints on everything?
- Pilot85, on 04/16/2008, -1/+3we didn't listen!!!

- hollyminkowski, on 04/16/2008, -0/+2I wonder if they are still getting data from the Pioneers?
I seem to remember reading that they went dark a few years ago. It was amazing they were able to get a signal from 7+billion miles since they only put out 8 watts at 2ghz. if they are no longer getting data from them I wonder how they are determining their location??? maybe they are just extrapolating probable location based on old telemetry. - jhuebel, on 04/16/2008, -0/+2I don't understand why people are digging you down. Have they forgotten the Mars Rover missions already? Those were done inexpensively and have had great results.
- abuelos84, on 04/16/2008, -0/+2yeah, you kinda missed the post...
- wynja, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1Gotta love retarded headlines.
- wynja, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1mmm no, the thermal radiation can account for no more than 36% of the drift.
- whodathunk, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1She was also only a little bit pregnant...
- gllopc, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1Well, "thetan" is just another word for spirit; so, per Scientology, you are a thetan in a body (which is actually a mass of thetans in itself). The correct joke would have been "I say it's the Marcab Confederacy".
The more you know... - inactive, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1this is happening for the same reason that,1 Pluto is no longer a planet, 2 the Vadackin has control of ? how many of earth's observatory's, 3 the reason for the phrase= Never A Striate Answer, In a word, Niberu
- inajeep, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1A mysteries upon mysteries wrapped in a conundrum stuffed in a turkey... I found the related article http://space.newscientist.com/article/dn13411 on the sight also to be fairly interesting. The earth is warping space/time around it. I believe I saw it before on digg. The proposed theory that heat and maybe dust is causing the drifting may be factors but 'laying it to rest' is a bit of a overstatement.
- majordanger, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1If I understand this article then dust and faded paint cause uneven heating thereby creating a weak thermal thrust vector. ..
Doesn't Pioneer still rotate with the dish facing the sun? That would seem to me to make the craft speed away faster .
I'm thinkn it was Col. Mustard in the Conservatory. - pwdrskier, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1its all a conspiracy man
- inactive, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1What happens when they hit the outer sphere of the solar system? Will it crack?
- Chirp08, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1Nah its cool, he put a question mark in there just in case
- DarkSideWRX, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1A Transformer did it.
- JQP123, on 04/16/2008, -0/+1"It mysteriously doesn't though, which is why scientist have invented the 90% "dark matter" rule to keep this from happening."
Scientists didn't just "invent" dark matter. There is quite a bit of experimental evidence to show that it is a real physical phenomenon --- beyond any unquantified shortcoming of gravitational theory. Most astro-physicists are convinced that dark matter is for real. - inactive, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1LOL, but we assure you we are able to predict future climate to a 95% certainty level.
Moral of the story: garbage in, garbage out, is always an issue in these kinds of delicate systems. - inactive, on 04/16/2008, -1/+1HAHA! Scientist are wrong again! See, the bible knew that space craft would drift just like that! I says so in Mark 3:16!!
/ waits for the diggers that don't understand sarcasm - insonh, on 04/16/2008, -1/+1it's "God' messing with them
- nibster, on 04/16/2008, -5/+3man, i thought it said starcraft for a second... i was all excited.
- LastDitchHero, on 04/16/2008, -2/+0Damn you Xenu, Tom Cruise was right!!!!
/sarcasm - parashiro, on 04/16/2008, -3/+0No pictures, no proof that the mystery is solved.
- ncc74656m, on 04/16/2008, -11/+7Eh, don't be too doubtful of NASA. It's when they have TOO MUCH money they have problems. Think about all the immensely successful "budget" missions.
- ErikHarrison, on 04/16/2008, -8/+1Wait, so..... we randomly check other countries for Nukes but, we're just gonna let a group of madmen try to make a black hole, which could ultimately swallow the entire earth? Hmm... something ain't right.
- diggzilla, on 04/16/2008, -21/+6With all the financial issues NASA has I am not surprised these "mysteries" are occurring...
- Ganja420, on 04/16/2008, -19/+1So its moving faster? or just off course
- chris3435, on 04/16/2008, -35/+4NASA lost my trust when they faked the moon landing.
