- Twoodge, on 10/11/2007, -7/+66Isn't it?! I like how the moon and sun are pretty much the same size too! Dolt.
- Beaver6813, on 10/11/2007, -4/+43Please for the love of God tell me you forgot /sarcasm!
- Beaver6813, on 10/11/2007, -1/+38What the hell are you on, they were right and you were wrong! Past is correct in the context it is said, you make a bad grammar nazi..
- spookyttws, on 10/11/2007, -1/+25They seem to be teaming up on us...this could be trouble.
- Xeidan1727, on 10/11/2007, -0/+24What beauty nature is capable of...big thanks to the photographer for my wallpaper for the week
- vroom101, on 10/11/2007, -3/+25That's a very nice photo.
- OneLess, on 10/11/2007, -1/+18I agree; worst grammar Nazi ever.
from dictionary.com:
15. beyond in space or position; farther on than: the house just past the church.
16. in a direction so as to pass by or go beyond: We went past the house by mistake. - emjaymj, on 10/11/2007, -6/+22You guys are morons... he was talking about their size relative to our perspective...
- artofwar420, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14You must have a small monitor.
/JK, I'll use it as a wallpaper too. ;) - cyberfly, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12You're hilarious! Stay in school buddy..
- simpleid, on 10/11/2007, -4/+16Oh man I feel stupid. I was out driving and noticed that bright spot and thought it was unusual. so I parked somewhere and stared at it for a while, during which i thought it was actually a UFO and I was expecting it to zip across the sky. Then since it didn't I got nervous and thought an asteroid might be heading our way to kill us... and after a few hours of other thoughts, angst and other mixed emotions, I got bored and went home.
I'm happy to learn what it actually was now... thank you. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12The heavens were perfectly aligned to celebrate the announcement of Starcraft 2.
- kingfoot, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10last saturday? damnit, i was at prom, ***** if im ever doing anything with a girl again, i dont wanna miss anything else this cool!
- carlosauresrex, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9astrology, huh? what school DO YOU go to?
- AndersenWatcher, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7This (and a 40 of Pabst) got me into Jenny Franklin's panties.
- lavoie0ca, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7you moron venus is the tiny thing at the bottom, the bright part of the moon is part of the moon.
- HayString, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7I saw that while driving home last Saturday night & was wondering what it was. I guess now I know.
- mmzplanet, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Not BS.... I saw it myself.
- selrahc, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Its real. I took a picture of it myself. It's not nearly as detailed since I only had short telephoto lens with me, but I'll link to it as proof. http://flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=515346464&size=o
- djvchris, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Wow. Fantastic knowledge of the *E*nglish language there. Ironic hypocrisy at its finest. Do you know Al Sharpton?
***Bonus points for your arbitrary capitalization of words. - esotericguy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Dale: ".....Either that's just a regular crack in the pavement, or the chinese are finally making their move....."
- artofwar420, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5As you wish.
- ogletree, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3This would have been nice to be on the fp of digg on the 19th not the 26th!!!
- UCFartstudntJON, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Yeah it was cool, took a few pictures myself that nite.
- gbowskill, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Great image! We also had a fantastic occultation between Saturn and the Moon this week. There's some great pictures taken by ordinary people from their back gardens at: http://stargazerslounge.com/index.php?board=86.0
- PunkRampant, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I saw it too. I was playing football with my friends when I got distracted by this in the sky. It really is cool to see the brightest objects in the night sky right next to each other.
- Steel_Blue, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Heh, "oppersite"
- FlapJaw, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1They do say New York, New York, USA don't they?
- JEAA, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Why do they say Quebec City, Quebec, Canada? Why not just Quebec City, Quebec.
They wouldn't say Los Angeles, California, United States of America would they? - headlites, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Does anyone have a larger image? Good wallpaper size?
- squidy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Because if you say Québec City, Québec, and someone will tag you as an independantist, and if you add Canada at the end, then you're tagged as a federalist, there is no neutral way to write it. Yet, Québec City is in Québec (a fact), and Québec is in Canada (a fact). So why not add, Planet Earth at the end :)
- sandlegs, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2this is called a long exposure, why would a photo on a NASA website be a photoshop job?
- TomTruelle, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1its cause half you 'mericans dont know/have never heard of the wonderful cities we have up here,
- cannibaljp, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1pictures or it didn't happen...
(can't blame me for trying, right?) - chaosmachine, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1nice shot :)
PS: go sens! - nayr, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Wallpaper size! :(
- trip9, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2It's grammar gestapo and spelling nazi's btw.
- selrahc, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Do you have your eyes crossed or something? I think you are just seeing the moon double.
- myt29, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2In astrology class, my teacher told me that when all the planets are aligned, it is inauspicious to sit at the computer and make dumb comments.
- themastersb, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Pretty long exposure.
- Vipersfate, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I agree.. although I did see it, and it was beautiful..didn't have my camera at that time..damn the luck.
- philipv, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1looks almost like a painting
- khyberkitsune, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1I find it funny that you people do what I said to do.
No wonder you're being led around by Bush. Sheeple. - SeaOverflowing, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Wonderful photo...
- Gzero, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1It'd make a nice wallpaper :).
- chipstar, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Nice pic, I missed this one but caught a similar occurrance a few months ago.
http://www.space-and-telescope.com/ChrisMoon.aspx - spd998, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1I was wondering why the Moon was so bright in the sky last week. I was taking pictures of the sunset and I noticed something similar to the awesome photo, it was very pretty.
- tvbvt, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1I saw this last Saturday also. I was having a BBQ to celebrate my college graduation and one of the guest pointed out the same exact image. It was quite amazing. I had a gut feeling it was a planet but I thought it was Mars.
Always, very cool indeed - ares623, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0could this been have seen anywhere on the globe? coz i missed it.. :(
- Corrosionx, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2OMG SECRET ISLAMIC NIGHT SKY!
