Nightglow illuminates hydroxyls in Venus' atmosphere.
aanda.org — Using observations from Venus Express, astronomers present the first detection of hydroxyl (OH) in the atmosphere of Venus through its nightglow emission. Atmospheric airglow is a major tool for inferring the composition and chemistry of upper planetary atmospheres. Hydroxyl (OH) is frequently observed in the atmosphere of comets.
