- InfinitySnatch, on 07/15/2009, -0/+44It's a 30 minute blooper real of them falling over and trying to get the flag to stand up.
- FakingFamous, on 07/15/2009, -0/+39so where do we actually see the footage?
- Fhwqhgads, on 07/15/2009, -1/+36Great, new footage for retards to claim is fake.
- jacko0, on 07/15/2009, -0/+20"the Apollo 11 space shuttle." I knew the shuttle was old tech
- icebane, on 07/15/2009, -1/+18NASA better not hide the secret alien moon bases again.
- MikeyMoose, on 07/15/2009, -1/+17They're still making it, duh... wait until it's done like the rest of us.
- k3rfuffl3, on 07/15/2009, -0/+15How 'bout we go make some new footage instead of glorifying something that happened 40 years ago? Should have a lunar base goddamn it.
- Hetman, on 07/15/2009, -0/+14Trolls make me sleepy.
- snafflepaffle, on 07/15/2009, -2/+15Quick, the conspiracy theorist need come up with new explanations as to why we never landed on the moon... Clearly these are fakes.
/s - tightscrummy, on 07/15/2009, -1/+14Is it true that Tom Hanks is going to play Neil Armstrong in this one?
- fabriciom, on 07/15/2009, -0/+9I swear you must really short in the brain to believe the moon landings where staged. Really short.
- FritoPendejo, on 07/15/2009, -0/+8Glad to see every one of your posts is a complaint. It's not another angle. Please just STFU for all of us.
- sragland, on 07/15/2009, -2/+10on Thursday, apparently
- sh1tman, on 07/15/2009, -2/+9Tell me it has the Benny Hill theme!
- icebane, on 07/15/2009, -0/+7LIVESTRONG
- duewydo, on 07/15/2009, -0/+6@FritoPendejo, you are right. A quick glance through oehmer08's page shows a very, very bitter person.
- Hetman, on 07/15/2009, -0/+6Wait they want me to purchase a film to be able to see these new clips? How come they just do not show it on the history channel?
- inactive, on 07/15/2009, -1/+7Moon Landing: Unrated Director's Cut
- RogerStrong, on 07/15/2009, -0/+6Tell your Congressman. Without support for a moon base, Congress won't allocate money for it.
- Jektal, on 07/15/2009, -0/+6Hey, have you guys heard about the comprehensive Apollo 11 moonwalk restoration project expected to be completed by Autumn?
This is nearly as cool as the comprehensive Apollo 11 moonwalk restoration project expected to be completed by Autumn! - RogerStrong, on 07/15/2009, -0/+6He was given a job to do, and he did it.
His next job was to avoid scandals, and the ONLY way to do that is to stay out of the press.
Since then he's been a university professor, he vice chaired a presidential commission investigating the breakup of the space shuttle Challenger, gives the occasional interview for the Discovery channel and others, and even hosted the "First Flights" TV series.
In other words, he's no recluse. He's simply not trying to be a superstar. - FKnight, on 07/15/2009, -0/+6InfectedTuna:
The problem with your post is that there's absolutely no "proof pointing elsewhere" unless you're the kind of person that ignores facts.
All of the "proof" that you refer to that we never went to the moon has been debunked numerous times. - fenderbiz, on 07/15/2009, -0/+5^ buried for denying the truth.
- finalcloud33, on 07/15/2009, -0/+5you are moron...
Neil is just an extremly private man. If you have ever read about him you would know - crash331, on 07/15/2009, -0/+5Armstrong was picked BECAUSE of this trait. Aldrin, they thought, couldn't handle the fame because of his personality, so they let the more reserved and private Armstrong be the first man on the moon knowing that the title would never be tarnished in the future.
And they were right. Aldrin went on on get a divorced and become an alcoholic. He's cleaned up now, but he had a very rough patch. - asgardshill, on 07/15/2009, -0/+5FTA:
"Neil Armstrong, now 78, has kept a low profile since leaving Nasa in 1971 and has reportedly declined to attend a press conference with other astronauts to mark the anniversary on July 20."
It wouldn't surprise me. Armstrong is the private man's private man, and as far as I'm concerned good for him. Maybe he's holding out for the 50th anniversary. - HelAom, on 07/15/2009, -0/+5it's all a big cover up for the aliens
- casek, on 07/15/2009, -0/+4Armstrong was pretty well known as a test pilot, fighter pilot, etc before NASA.
NASA would be nothing without Armstrong.
I jest, but the guy is pretty private. - crash331, on 07/15/2009, -1/+5**woosh**
- edrodgers731, on 07/15/2009, -0/+4It always bothers me when journalists report on things they don't know about, especially technology.
- kurttrail, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3Hi Folks! InfectedTuna here. You guys got me all wrong. I like to sit on the fence between reality and just plain stupid. I just can't make up my mind which side of the fence I should choose.
You know, reality is really scary, and everybody on the just plain stupid side seem to be having a real good time, if you ignore all the drooling.
BTW, does anyone know how did they discombobulated that thingy about the Earth not being the center of the Universe? - chrismwood, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3And where's my goddamn jet pack?
- Hockey13, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3It was funnier when InfinitySnatch and sh1tman said it.
- EmilyCragg, on 07/15/2009, -2/+5This I gotta see! I'll be putting them up, revisited.
- inactive, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3Block fodder - just block his ass. What's the point in even seeing his comments if all he does is go around flaming folks.
- EndAntiSemitism, on 07/15/2009, -2/+5I think NASA should silence all the moon-landing-conspiracy-nuts once and for all by offering them all a ride on a space shuttle set for the moon, just to show them that it is possible.
...of course neglect to tell them that there's only enough fuel for a one-way trip... - DangerCollie, on 07/15/2009, -3/+6That was my question. Where's the link to the damn video? NASA's web site is a freaking navigation disaster. You can't find what you're looking for. They're more concerned with looking good than working right.
- FKnight, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3I heard Armstrong shoots first in this version.
- jaimequin, on 07/15/2009, -1/+4Arizona is on the moon? What?
- FritoPendejo, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3Gee, this sounds familiar...
- CATSCEO2, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3Another fine example of the fine reporting on the Telegraph.
- edrodgers731, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3There isn't even enough fuel to leave orbit in a space shuttle.
I keep forgetting there are so many non-geeks around. - alpha94, on 07/15/2009, -1/+4I keep having to check and make sure I'm not on youtube when reading these comments. WTF is going on here these days?
- crash331, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3Wow, this guy needs a big hug or something.
- PityDaFool, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3They better not add an imperial walker in the background.
- kebwi, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2InfectedTuna: What irritates us is that this information is easily found and you're asking us to do the research for you. Very quickly, on the one point you specifically brought up, my understanding about the waving flag is that it results from a combination of left-over momentum from the flag being initially positioned by the astronauts as well as exhaust wind from the module as it ascended from the surface (although I admit I don't recall the exact explanation off the top of my head at this instant).
Please don't ask us to address each individual hoax-claim challenge here. Instead, try google searches along the lines of "moon landing hoax debunking" or "moon landing proof" or "moon landing claims". Things like that. You will find lots of helpful information about all of the proposed challenges.
Best of luck. - 2noame, on 07/15/2009, -4/+6Good. Forty years should be just enough time to have completed the special effects.
- sharkd, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2A little OT, but the Shuttle *is* old.
The Space Transportation System (Shuttle) RFP pre-dates the moon landing -- phase A proposals were requested in October 1968. (Phase B designs were requested in June 1970.)
It was announced, during the first (of three) EVA of the Apollo 16 mission that Congress had approved FY1973 funding for the STS program, to begin pre-production efforts and site preparation at KSC.
Construction of OV-101, 'Enterprise,' began in June 1974. (It was intended to be repurposed to a flight-capable shuttle following the Approach and Landing Tests.) - EndAntiSemitism, on 07/15/2009, -1/+3Just like the holocaust? LOL, a little dramatic, aren't we?
