- staystellar, on 07/28/2008, -1/+7there is a lot of dark matter in that one, it sort of looks like dirt. ;D

- MacBookForMe, on 07/28/2008, -0/+3That always reminds me to the TV series COSMOS of Carl Sagan...
- crump199, on 07/28/2008, -0/+3it's not dark matter, it pretty much is dirt
the article says "criss-crossed by filaments of dust, which appears brown in the image." - GanjaGirl, on 07/28/2008, -0/+3I'm Ron Burgundy?
- JPOOPOO, on 07/28/2008, -0/+3Now THIS is what its like when worlds collide
- davewelsh79, on 07/28/2008, -0/+2In addition, the title seems to indicate there are things called antennae galaxies, and that they are all formed a certain way. According to the article, there are exactly two galaxies called "The Antennae Galaxies."
- Schmich, on 07/28/2008, -0/+2For those who missed the previous chapter "Wikipedia: What are Antennae Galaxies?" here's the link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antennae_Galaxies
- inactive, on 07/28/2008, -0/+2New version of a very old image... This is my favorite NASA image ever. I've been using it as my desktop off and on for about 3 years.
- MattFid, on 07/28/2008, -0/+2This is why galaxies should always wear helmets.
- AussieVesti, on 07/28/2008, -0/+2Beautiful. It's simply amazing how there's beauty waiting out there for us (and possibly others) to explore. The fact those are galaxies shows us how small we truly are. I mean, look at that. When you first take a look at the picture, most of us automatically register that to not be significantly big.
- stuwanker, on 07/28/2008, -0/+1And, oddly, what it sounds like when doves cry.
- daRoach, on 07/28/2008, -0/+1I imagine a NASA astronomer standing up from looking through a telescope shrugging then asking the next astronomer over "How antennae galaxies are formed?"
- davewelsh79, on 07/28/2008, -0/+1n/t
- inactive, on 07/29/2008, -0/+1***** YOU! Two of my friends died forming an antennae galaxy!
- benrey, on 07/29/2008, -0/+1Yeah dark matter is called dark matter because its invisible... It's actually never been "seen" its just a theory.
- inactive, on 08/08/2008, -1/+1Ah, somebody beat me to correcting the grammar.
Foiled, yet again. - inactive, on 08/10/2008, -0/+0Geez, galaxies. Get a room.

- inactive, on 07/28/2008, -0/+0What causes new stars to be born when galaxies collide? My guess would be that energy of the collision causes all the gas and dust to coalese and undergo fusion. Can any physicist diggers explain the process in more detail?
- Awim, on 07/28/2008, -2/+0Wait a minute?...so god's name is "super star cluster"...which explains the title "jesus christ super star". He inherited his fathers name.
