Just like every cowboy sings his sad, sad, song? - zadadka, on 06/13/2008, -1/+20I can't comment on that.
- withears, on 06/13/2008, -0/+12Any story with the word "Rose" in the title automatically goes to the front page.
It's a total mystery why that happens. Only Kevin Rose knows for sure.
Hey...... - drlha, on 06/13/2008, -0/+10Before anyone asks, the rings around the stars are an optical artifact.
- mecharabbit, on 06/13/2008, -1/+10Nebulae are red

....high five.... - ligyron, on 06/13/2008, -1/+8The magical algorithm is based on Diggs, not comments
- Scynet, on 06/13/2008, -0/+7http://saturn.jpl.nasa.gov/mission/images/EM-spect ...
Scientists often call the whole EM spectrum "light" instead of the tiny tiny portion of it that our eye can detect. Easy enough picture to memorize, everyone should do it, IMO.
Edit: Also, this is one of the reasons they don't usually take color pictures in space. There's SO much more radiation out there than just light visible to our eyes, and it'd be a waste to only look for that data. - Netik09, on 06/13/2008, -0/+6It doesn't look like a rose bud.
- 37prime, on 06/13/2008, -0/+6Which Brett Michaels?
The one from Poison or the one from Rock Of Love I & II? - ncc74656m, on 06/13/2008, -0/+5Yeah, I'd expect it to have skids and a rein of some sort, you know, like a traditional toboggan?
- homer4199, on 06/13/2008, -0/+4amazing photo
- Remmiz, on 06/13/2008, -0/+4Good choice. This argument can only lead to two losers in the end.
- cerin48, on 06/13/2008, -1/+4infrared, x-ray, gamma.... of course I'm assuming that "optic" refers to the definition relating to the eye or vision.
- TechCF, on 06/13/2008, -1/+4Lot of diggs in a short time?
Lots of clickthroughs in a short time?
Don't know the algorithm, but it might be something like that - withears, on 06/13/2008, -1/+4Quoting that street poet, Brett Michaels. Outstanding.
- sickrubik, on 06/13/2008, -0/+2Spoiler alert!
- LucerinRed, on 06/13/2008, -1/+3I'm not complaining, most of you commenters are dicks.

- mecharabbit, on 06/13/2008, -1/+3That's Bret "The Hitman" Hart or Shawn Michaels...oh, who cares
- denny24hrs, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1Sure it does. The rose bud is on the left with the stem pointing down towards 7 o'clock and the rose look up towards the center of the image. The left circle starburst is at the bottom right of the bud following the side up to the next star burst. I am not sure if there's supposed to be one on the right side of the photo. If so, that's a little more abstract.
- RonnieW, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1i just dugg this because i love these kinds of pictures :)

- mgenovese, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1Yes, I know what he meant. The term just sounded strange, versus "visible light".
- EricAnderton, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1All we are is dust in the wind, dude.
- Tyrghast, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1I wanted to make a comment relating the 'rosette' observation to the Inquisition of WH40k, but I just didn't know how to go about it correctly...
