- mtdaugherty, on 11/21/2008, -6/+137and the start of the viral marketing campaign for the new J.J. Abram's movie...
- darkstar107, on 11/21/2008, -1/+128I live in Lloydminster, AB and the meteor passed right over top of us. It was so bright it looked like it was the middle of the day and it sounded like very loud, constant bass and shook my house. Probably the only time I will experience that in my lifetime!
- kinseyincanada, on 11/22/2008, -0/+71who the ***** going to nuke Alberta
- Paulorific, on 11/21/2008, -6/+73Somebody SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVE me.
- inactive, on 11/21/2008, -11/+78...and suddenly 70,000 formerly rational people believe in alien invaders...
- ProfChaosOmega, on 11/22/2008, -3/+64I would've ***** myself thinking it was a nuke.
- MassiveTaTas, on 11/22/2008, -1/+61Weather balloon. Nothing to see here folks, move along.

YOU HEARD IT?
AND YOU FELT IT IT?
***** you. - fastfastlane, on 11/22/2008, -1/+36We saw the massive flash of light here over Edmonton too. So far the meteorite hasn't been located.
- morogolus, on 11/22/2008, -0/+31Saskatchewan FTW! I was outside having a smoke and I thought the apocalypse was coming.
- Chairboy, on 11/22/2008, -0/+31I was landing my plane in at Creswell, OR's airport a year ago. I was on about a five mile final at 10:00-10:30 at night when a flaming green meteor fell somewhere between me and the airport. It was amazing to see, and I wish I had a camera running at the time. I remember thinking "Who's shooting fireworks at me?" until I realized that the fireworks were, ah, coming DOWN. Considering the placement of me, my visibility, and how far away it was, I realized there wasn't any way it could be fireworks after all.
I wonder, though, what would have happened if I had taken off maybe half a minute earlier, or flew at a higher power setting, or some other fluke that would have put me in the path of it. It might have been small, but it was bright and solid. - jpzee, on 11/22/2008, -1/+27Well, now we know what the sky will look like seconds before our doom.
- lololol1, on 11/22/2008, -13/+39Viral marketing for the Transformers sequel.
- inactive, on 11/22/2008, -1/+25Swamp gas.
- Kyrgizion, on 11/22/2008, -0/+22I've had several dreams about nuke impacts and some of them were creepily similar indeed.
- Falldog, on 11/22/2008, -0/+21You have been a participant in the biggest interdimensional cross rip since the Tunguska blast of 1909!
Can I have some brain tissue? - willsani, on 11/21/2008, -3/+24Another useful need for a dash cam. That's right next to the police brutality, funny drunk vids, car crashes, chases, etc.
- louiegirl1, on 11/22/2008, -4/+23that meteor isn't the only thing that's blazing right now...
- KWhat, on 11/22/2008, -2/+20Guess they found Heidemarie Stefanyshyn-Piper's tool bag...
- TDDebug, on 11/22/2008, -1/+18In the future, it's possible that your lifetime will end shortly after seeing it.
- ProfChaosOmega, on 11/22/2008, -1/+15You're right, nothing worth destroying.
- jasdf, on 11/22/2008, -1/+14I hope to see something like this in my lifetime.
- strikerK, on 11/22/2008, -1/+14It lit up the entire night sky here in Regina aswell. This must have been huge to have lit up both Sask and Alberta
- koldmilk, on 11/22/2008, -1/+14Great Balls of Fire!
- catinthebox, on 11/22/2008, -4/+16Did you really not read the JJ Abram's new movie comment, THE SECOND FROM THE TOP?
- DickyT83, on 11/22/2008, -1/+13That's what she said.
- inactive, on 11/22/2008, -1/+12So frequently that in my 23 years of living in winter for 8 months of the year i have never seen it once.
- kinseyincanada, on 11/22/2008, -3/+13well that was awesome.
- aethelberga, on 11/22/2008, -1/+11I love Corner Gas - is that close enough?
- inactive, on 11/22/2008, -0/+10I was standing right outside walmart in saskatoon and we saw it. At first i wonder where the hell the lightning came from.
- teh_techie, on 11/22/2008, -1/+11Regina - the city that rhymes with fun
- Dronez, on 11/22/2008, -0/+10It looks like daylight for a half second.
- Zomgondo, on 11/22/2008, -0/+10I saw a HUGE shooting star that looked almost exactly like that video on Tuesday Night here in Northern California around 5:30. I can't find any news reports of it though.
- PabloMac, on 11/22/2008, -0/+9"The meteorite was seen blazing across the sky in the city of Edmonton."
It's a meteor until it hits the Earth, at which point it becomes a meteorite.
Don't feel bad; Pat Benatar got it wrong, too. - ProfChaosOmega, on 11/22/2008, -1/+10kicking rad? who says that?
- shawnsonium, on 11/22/2008, -1/+10I'm from Lloydminster too and I was at work at the time, inside a stock room with a measly 1' x 2' window.
I completely missed everything about this meteor. The light, the sound...everything. I'm ever so pissed off that it was a brilliantly kickass event that occurred so nearby...that I'll only ever get to hear everybody else talk about it. - krarks, on 11/22/2008, -0/+9Regina diggers FTW!
- atomic811, on 11/22/2008, -0/+9Does it have a baby inside?
- theNazz, on 11/22/2008, -2/+11Hey! How do you know that it was not alien invaders?
- otakugeek, on 11/22/2008, -0/+8The first picture shows "Global Edmonton" in the lower left corner, leading me to believe that this is in Edmonton, Alberta.
Also, the article says "western Canada" in the first sentence. Please RTFA before posting. - searcade, on 11/22/2008, -2/+10Wait a minute... how comes i never noticed that i live near it? damn you digg i need to get out more!
- catinthebox, on 11/22/2008, -2/+10I read the title?
- catinthebox, on 11/22/2008, -2/+10No one loves Saskatchewan
unless you have a fetish for flat everything - AlphaDrake, on 11/22/2008, -0/+8Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
I saw it, and yes Bioware is here too :P - anthonyvsshark, on 11/22/2008, -0/+7dugg for weed.
- thoughtlover, on 11/22/2008, -0/+7I was driving between Fort Collins and Denver at 3am about 5 years ago when one whistled past directly over me. It turned night into day for about 5 seconds, leaving my night adjusted eyes quite blind for a few seconds, before fading out somewhere to the west. Most cars pulled to the side of the road to wait for blindness to pass. I didn't hear an impact, so who knows how far up it was.
- biznatch11, on 11/22/2008, -0/+7Ontario? We're jealous of all your oil, but on the bright side, soon we won't be making any more cars so we won't need to buy it anymore :p
- ProfessorSYM, on 11/22/2008, -4/+11That's because it wasn't a meteorite.
- hbaddict, on 11/22/2008, -3/+10That was pretty cool -
