- radiofan, on 07/02/2009, -0/+33I'm looking forward seeing some images of Apollo landing sites.
- bbaydar, on 07/02/2009, -0/+25Very cool images. Nice to see the moon getting some love again.
- grumpychris, on 07/02/2009, -0/+14I remember looking at the moon with my dad through my first telescope when I was 8. Every time I see a close up image it still brings back that sense of awe and amazement as it did that cool autumn evening.
- 818Rob, on 07/02/2009, -2/+12Dugg for "embiggen"
- SirvenomItsac, on 07/02/2009, -0/+8I guess we need photos of the lunar landing sites, an left overs of all the Apollo missions, so every conspiracy freak stops saying we didn't go to the moon.
- killdashnine, on 07/02/2009, -0/+7Finally, we'll put to rest rumors that the lunar landings weren't faked! 'Bout time.
- riz94107, on 07/02/2009, -1/+8Hard to believe it's been almost 40 years since the first human walked on the surface of another planet - and that it's been almost 37 years since the last one did.
I would love to see the LRO image the Apollo 11-17 (sans 13, natch) landing sites. - GrooveXP, on 07/02/2009, -0/+7Absolutely amazing detail. Can't wait for when it hits its final orbit for even closer shots.
- spud387, on 07/02/2009, -0/+5Will we finally get pictures of the Nazi moon base?!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xn4DW1uvsAE - sameer768, on 07/02/2009, -1/+6The Moon isn't a planet, bro.
- Yage2006, on 07/02/2009, -0/+5I guess you dont know then that russia verified americas landing on the moon almost immediately after it happening because you know there was this race to the moon and who would get the bragging rights.
They both observed from ground and also flew a probe by the landing site.
You think you can fake something like that when the whole world is watching you ?
- Mujokan, on 07/02/2009, -0/+4Like I said, in the comments. This should work as a more direct link if it's too hard to scroll down. http://comments-submit.nasa.gov/commenting1/Commen ...
- borez, on 07/02/2009, -1/+5Came here from Digg.com
- CATSCEO2, on 07/02/2009, -0/+4With a spacecraft.
- borez, on 07/02/2009, -0/+4Dugg for: cool autumn evening
- Interpol, on 07/02/2009, -1/+4Awesome!
- borez, on 07/02/2009, -0/+3You stole my comment.
;) - EddiePotato, on 07/02/2009, -0/+3The level of detail is higher than any pics since Apollo, though I kind of agree they look like a million other moon photos at a glance. I think it's just the idea people are excited about.
Mars photos are a lot more interesting, since the topography has a lot more variation. - PhilBoswell, on 07/02/2009, -0/+3You think that will stop them?
It is, apparently, amazing what one can achieve with Photoshop these days… - dalectrics, on 07/02/2009, -0/+3See above
- webcrumb, on 07/02/2009, -0/+3I'd hit it.
- Yage2006, on 07/02/2009, -0/+3No no sadly you wont. They will just say the new photos are fake too.
There is no way you can reason with people like that. - jasdf, on 07/02/2009, -0/+3I assume that this page will be updated in the future, you may want to bookmark it:
http://wms.lroc.asu.edu/lroc_browse/view/nacl00000 ... - nigelsan, on 07/02/2009, -0/+2that isn't a very grumpy comment, now is it chris?

ha! diggers don't have girl friends, that would be craazy. - pw378, on 07/03/2009, -0/+2planet, moon, planetoid, whatever.... Men walked, slept and ate on another massive rock in our solar system. Thats freaking amazing.
- NJRFilms, on 07/02/2009, -3/+5I love space more than your average idiot but these pictures aren't doing much for me. How are they any different than moon images we've seen before? Holler at me when we make the moon base.
- webcrumb, on 07/02/2009, -1/+2HOLY *****! MAN WALKS ON ***** MOON!
- KibblesnBitts, on 07/02/2009, -2/+3But where are the Moon People?
- MasterGrief, on 07/02/2009, -0/+1Yeah, this author needs more.. a bigger.. word bank
- rocknog, on 07/02/2009, -0/+1That's the real conspiracy. I mean think about it - in the 70s, we go to the Moon. In the 80s, the government suddenly starts distributing cheese. Coincidence?
- Mujokan, on 07/02/2009, -1/+2Apparently they are planning this. See comments on this page.
http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/LRO/multimedia/l ... - borez, on 07/02/2009, -0/+1Especially now we have the excellently written "Moon People" to let our imaginations run wild again.

http://www.youtube.com/jaxachannel - darthom, on 07/05/2009, -0/+1I am glad to see the excitement engenderd by the LRO and its photos. I hope this generation gets to see what my generation was promised.
- Rooker75, on 07/02/2009, -0/+0Came here from the blog to digg it, but got to the blog from Twitter. So... sorta.

- darknecross, on 07/02/2009, -4/+3Everyone here agrees that Twitter is gay.
By the transitive property of homosexuality, you are also gay. - chadisawesome, on 07/02/2009, -6/+5am I the only one that read "LOL first images of the moon?"
- antoniuk, on 07/02/2009, -4/+2I do not believe we landed on the moon and will doubt it until we get proof from a NON American space mission.
- darthjure, on 07/02/2009, -4/+2I wonder if they went with a full color camera or just settled for a B&W camera?
- pathouston22, on 07/02/2009, -3/+1Where's the cheese?
