- Billiam627, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6The cool thing about this telescope is the design. It looks like a space ship in the science fiction sense, rather than the actual sense.
- sp89, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4It cost's $4.5 Billion. I don't care about a USB port. I'd feel pretty powerful and rich with one of these.
- Jozer99, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3You mean:
The James Webb Space Telescope: Boldly collecting long wavelength electromagnetic radiation with slightly higher accuracy where no orbiting long wavelength electromagnetic radiation collector has collected with slightly higher accuracy before. - smb3d, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3If the star trek slogan was "going boldly where no man has gone before" then yeah, otherwise no, it shouldn't.
- fearlessfx, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Maybe we'll finally be able to see aliens sunbathing topless on their decks with this thing. Certainly a geek's fantasy.
- benshariff, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Origami? There going to fold it into a crane and blast it into space..
- Astronick, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Except that the Shuttle fleet retires 3 years before the JWST launches - NASA have one chance, and one chance only to get this working.
- glog, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Niiice, I like!
- frostieDude, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0They won't be able to service this thing. How many shuttle missions were for the purpose of fixing hubble? Answer: Five.
I think this thing is going to end up being a huge waste of money. - Thadster, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1They seemed to have edited out the section where the the thing jams up about 12 seconds into its unfolding sequence....the fat pause at NASA...WTF! The subsequent shuttle mission to "service/rescue" the telescope..etc lol
- Ngai, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1It does look freakin cool... imagine the new pictures that'll show up soon after this baby's launched!...
HD anyone?... - sp89, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1I saw a model of this yesterday at Northrop Grumman in Redondo Beach, California. It wasn't complete yet. So no telling how it really looks. They also showed us where it's gonna be constructed. To be launched in 2013. Interesting stuff.
- indiggnant, on 10/11/2007, -4/+3im in ur space obzervin ur starz
- revenge7, on 10/11/2007, -5/+3Sounds like a porno.
- mepcotterell, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1Shouldn't it be "Peeking Boldly" and not "Boldly Peeking" ?
- bluechips23, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1NO USB PORT?!? WTF?? That's it! I am NOT buying this thing!
