James Webb Space Telescope: Boldly Peeking Where No Man Has Peeked Before

gizmodo.com — Video and photo galleries of the James Webb Space Telescope, NASA's new infrared galactic peeping tom. As well as looking like an Imperial Star Destroyer, it also seems just as big judging by the actual-scale prototype. In fact, it looks so big that it makes you wonder how are they going to put this thing in space in one piece. The answer: origami.

  • sp89, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1I saw a model of this yesterday at Northrop Grumman in Redondo Beach, California. It wasn't complete yet. So no telling how it really looks. They also showed us where it's gonna be constructed. To be launched in 2013. Interesting stuff.
