- Bmur90, on 07/06/2008, -0/+9Just as you think you know something about the galaxy, it changes. Our galaxy is truly amazing.
- Barackalypse, on 07/06/2008, -0/+3What's there to say about it really? If astronomers can't explain it, what sort of insightful addition to the discussion can most of the lay people here add?

- yangmangeek, on 07/06/2008, -3/+5basic overview: lightweight white dwarfs are just as capable as heavy white dwarfs when it comes to being pushed over the edge and dominated.
personally, i've never been dominated... but a dwarf sure would be kinky. - bdfariello, on 07/10/2008, -0/+2Some languages (like Latin) have a way of combining some double-vowels so they sound like a different vowel altogether (called a "dipthong," giggle giggle, let's move on).
"ae" in Latin is pronounced like a long I. So Julius Caesar's name was pronounced just like if you were to order a kaiser roll (of course, that's using Roman Latin and not Church/Italian Latin, where C's are pronounced like CH... Languages are confusing to me, I'm sticking to science/math/engineering). - bdfariello, on 07/06/2008, -2/+4This is the weakest article I've ever seen on the front page... There's very little information in it at all. Gonna have to bury this...
- HisNameIsChris, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1Ah, I see. Thanks for the enlightenment, I didn't see it that way. Language can get pretty stuffed up sometimes, but without it, where would we be.
- HorseloverFat8, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1How do you pronounce supernovae? Supernov-ay? Supervov-i?
- starmanjones, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1i'm not sure why its embarrassing. it seems to me like we find something out... which then leads to finding something out.
- rhilberg, on 04/24/2009, -0/+0Say "ah" then say "ee".
Then say it faster ah-ee. Ah-ee.
Then you will see how the two vowels sound like "eye".
Get it?
Good. - inactive, on 07/06/2008, -0/+0K
- mushoo, on 07/06/2008, -4/+4What a pretentious douche that guy must be.
I take it he's laughed his ass off through all the horrible crap we've done throughout history too.
Is he also laughing his big fat ass on his throne while our doctors and scientist struggle to find cures and treatments to diseases which kill innocent children?
All because he knows better, and everything apparently, thus your little snarky comment.
I take it he's laughed his ass off through all the horrible crap we've done throughout history too.
Great, apparently we're just entertainment for this father-knows-best-fictional figure you seem so intent on worshiping. - Iconoclast314, on 07/06/2008, -1/+1Supernov-ay.
- uptwolait, on 07/07/2008, -1/+1Dugg for mental image of an exploding white dwarf. That would have shocked the hell outta Dorothy.
- HisNameIsChris, on 07/07/2008, -0/+0Supernov-ay. How do you get Supernov-i from supernovae anyway?
- HisNameIsChris, on 07/07/2008, -0/+0Wow dude, learn to take a joke. Just because he said that doesn't mean he's some religious nutter. People always bury this guy's comments yet from what I can see he's just using a little satirical sarcasm.
- HisNameIsChris, on 07/07/2008, -1/+1I have to agree.
- provendelusion, on 07/06/2008, -3/+1we know. yea, we know.
