- fluidfoundation, on 01/11/2008, -3/+24star orgies are awesome.
- inactive, on 01/11/2008, -4/+21that's hardly a group i'd call "amazingly tight".
- harlowsmonkeys, on 01/11/2008, -0/+16Puppeteer migration?
- Kikkomann, on 01/11/2008, -3/+16Seriously, at first read (and without reading the article's description), I thought Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Richie are huddling in a corner, doing something stupid again.
- peterjmag, on 01/11/2008, -1/+13My God, it's full of stars...
- Sunflare670, on 01/11/2008, -0/+11Phenomenal cosmic power!
itty bitty living space. - jmpeagle, on 01/11/2008, -0/+9you don't read the right magazines :)
- DrWho520, on 01/11/2008, -0/+8The tidal forces there must be amazing. Its a real life n-body problem with stellar masses! Think of all the interesting lensing effects one could observe. It a gravity playground.
- inactive, on 01/11/2008, -0/+7No the star themselves orbits is the size of Jupiters. They used an analogy to make it easier to comprehend the size of the stars own orbit. The star system itself is rather far far away...
- snurfle, on 01/11/2008, -0/+5Does someone want to try and plot the movement of the Lagrangian points for this cluster?
- scootscr15, on 01/11/2008, -7/+12Nothing amazing, i once found about a thousand stars in my bowl of soup.
- hadak, on 01/11/2008, -0/+4Pic: http://a52.g.akamaitech.net/f/52/827/1d/www.space. ...
- Brad324, on 01/11/2008, -5/+9amazingly tight stars...
Liz Vicious, Tawnee stone and Kate from Kate's Playground? - inactive, on 01/11/2008, -0/+4 The fleet of worlds found at last.
- bigolgeek, on 01/11/2008, -0/+4binary binaries
- MadOtaku, on 01/11/2008, -0/+4I'd love to just pitch planet sized objects into an orbit around that at varying distances/velocities and watch the weird effects on their orbits.
- MadOtaku, on 01/11/2008, -0/+4Personally, I'd want to use something that's OVER 9000!!!!!!!!
- slapded, on 01/11/2008, -1/+4photoshopped
- PeterBassett, on 01/11/2008, -0/+3No, they were planets. Still a great series of books though,
- JibberGeorge, on 01/11/2008, -0/+3"I also find it funny that we know that the sun is 4.6 billion years old"
Well we could always believe bible thumpers who believe the earth is only 6 or 7 thousand years old and that dinosaurs never existed.... You'd think giant man eating lizards would get at least a chapter in the bible eh? - skipstar127, on 01/11/2008, -0/+3The Bible is still right you see... The bones we are finding today are from real fire breathing dragons!
And I'm a dragon rider, waiting for the last dragon to appear!
Remember the six headed one from revelations? Yup, that's my baby!
I'm going to smite down the armies from heaven then publicly kill myself, therefore putting an end to the christian religion.
Or I could just keep on being an atheist.... Meh... - cplusplus, on 01/11/2008, -0/+3Jaron Lanier wrote in this month's Discover Magazine that a construct like this could be made by an advanced civilization to advertise its presence!
- sindex, on 01/11/2008, -0/+2F the whole hoof joke already. She's smoking hot and you know it.
- badassninja, on 01/11/2008, -1/+3LOL
- PeterBassett, on 01/11/2008, -0/+2You'll need to find a fifth star before getting all excited...
Kepler Rosette.
;-) - Monk22, on 01/11/2008, -0/+2i looked it up, thats the weakest argument for dinosaurs in the bible ive ever seen.
- JibberGeorge, on 01/11/2008, -0/+2Ahh the old Job 41 argument :)
You see they aren't describing dinosaurs. The word tanniyn translates into dragon, because that's what they are describing. A fire breathing dragon...
Now don't get me wrong, you place that in the context of a book about mythical beings, heaven and hell, demons, "miracles", parting a sea so people can walk through it, men walking on water, and an endless burning bush........... and mythical fire breathing dragons kinda fit.
Don't you agree? - Zippo, on 01/11/2008, -0/+2WHAT 9000!?
- gr8one, on 01/11/2008, -1/+2When I saw this headline, I thought it was going to be some sort of perverted picture from hollywood.
- KnightMareInc, on 01/11/2008, -1/+2That would require what a 9000 SPF sunscreen?
- Matri, on 01/12/2008, -0/+1If they're advanced enough to be able to create, position and modify a star's orbit... With our level of technology we're pretty much equivalent to the retards of the universe staring at a flashing strobe light.
- inactive, on 01/12/2008, -0/+1The balls are inert.
- Xeworlebi, on 07/25/2008, -0/+1There are multiple stars in our own solar-system and we didn't notice before? WTF
- mal1964, on 01/11/2008, -0/+1I wasn't arguing someone theory on suns age, just placing a number out there is funny to me. They say its 4.6 billion that sounds good to me, because personally and not trying to sound like an ***** i don't really care how old it is..
- MadOtaku, on 01/11/2008, -1/+2Tetranary star systems aren't terrible rare; the interesting thing is their proximity to each other.
- mal1964, on 01/11/2008, -2/+3Thank you, lol yeah i know stars are way out there i thought the story was like wow look how close . but believe me i was 99% sure it was my error.
- Matri, on 01/12/2008, -0/+1You're assuming creationists ever use strong arguments.
- sindex, on 01/11/2008, -0/+1I read "Four Stars Found in Amazingly Tight Bush" at first glance. I couldn't wait to see this video.... sigh.
As it is, I'll have to settle for more amazing science. Meh... could have been worse. - rabidg00se, on 01/11/2008, -0/+1win
- subliminalurge, on 01/11/2008, -0/+1Um, no, that was just you.....
- inactive, on 01/11/2008, -0/+1I don't deny she's hot. I'd be all over her hoof.
- HolemCross, on 01/11/2008, -0/+1That sounds like a game at my local planetarium.
- UGM2099, on 01/11/2008, -1/+2Brad, I like your taste in women.
- Monk22, on 01/11/2008, -0/+1much like ron paul no wonder you support him.
- orangetiki, on 01/17/2008, -0/+1They're on a collision course with wackiness!!!
- treehugger87, on 01/11/2008, -0/+1There's no way on earth that can be true. Err, wait. Ummm....
- inactive, on 01/11/2008, -0/+1Swingers !
- ProfessorBooty, on 01/11/2008, -2/+2That's only three. How about Kari Sweet as the fourth?
- mysedai, on 01/11/2008, -1/+1Which is what I have to wear when I go to the beach :(
