- Awwzm, on 09/18/2009, -0/+3The "enlarged image" really isn't that much bigger than the one displayed. I wish I could see geological formations in better detail.
- frequentFlyer, on 09/18/2009, -1/+4Very interesting but the site shouldn't advertise the UFO crap. It kinda dings the credibility.
- uptwolait, on 09/18/2009, -1/+4So where are all the country border lines?
- DeskFlyer, on 09/18/2009, -0/+3If any of you have a decent telescope, train it on Jupiter on a clear night and you should be able to make out Ganymede, plus a couple other moons (Europa, Io and/or Callisto). Good stuff.
- inigomntoya, on 09/18/2009, -0/+2Hey Ma! Get off da roof!
- EddiePotato, on 09/18/2009, -0/+2You have altered the deal. I'm praying you do not alter it any further.
- DjBearPDX, on 09/18/2009, -0/+2I can see my house from here!
- akeldama, on 09/18/2009, -0/+1Did they locate the Pseudocephalopod outpost?

- XTomTomX, on 09/18/2009, -1/+2I find it most difficult to feel threatened by someone who's moniker ends in the name of a vegetable.
- Apokalyps2547, on 09/18/2009, -0/+1Even better: with a modest telescope, backyard astronomers can estimate the speed of light!
Jupiter's moon Io has a very circular orbit. The time when it emerges from behind Jupiter is a highly predictable regular interval.
When Jupiter is closest to Earth, Io appears to emerge 11 minutes sooner than average.
When Jupiter is farthest from Earth, Io appears to emerge 11 minutes later than average.
Indeed, the difference between the max Jupiter-Earth distance and the min Jupiter-Earth distance is 22 light-minutes! Observations of Io led to some of the first fairly-accurate speed-of-light calculations, and you can do it too! - Iwantawii, on 09/18/2009, -0/+1\\//_
Believe. - Howler21b, on 09/18/2009, -1/+1Yeah, but does Jupiter cry blood? This kid does..
