- BalancingAct, on 05/07/2009, -0/+14I wonder if this has anything to do with the mysterious 'hum' that is experienced locally at various parts around the world, such as that experienced at Bristol and Taos.

Sounds like the universe is pissed that we've been broadcasting crap like FOX News, and CNN into space. - tubeguy, on 05/08/2009, -0/+6.wavs or it didn't happen...
- CarStan, on 05/08/2009, -1/+6good thing the whales are still alive to answer and save us from destruction
- Enterres, on 05/08/2009, -0/+2I read about half of the report. Interesting stuff. I know i've sensitive hearing so if i ever encounter this problem i'll know exactly what it is. Thanks very much!
It's sort of ironic that the author mentioned the witches inquisition - i've been thinking lately that it's would almost be more mericiful to be burnt at the stake rather than trying to live with crippling sensitivity. - Trax852, on 05/08/2009, -0/+2I've heard the hiss, really more like static.
Passenger in a truck in Alaska, on a road where there was nobody anywhere around (no lights. no sounds, just nature) - the closest building might of been 20-30 miles away.
The Driver pulled over really fast and said "wow check out the lights" - Pretty much what everybody does when they see the northern lights are giving a show.
There was just three of us, and large white bands (no real color) whipping around in the sky above,
and as there were no distracting sounds; if you listened you could hear them, not a loud hiss as any sound would of masked it.
Reminded me of the static a T.V. makes when it wasn't on a channel - old days when VHS and UHF was all ya had :)
It was awhile later that I heard that some people claim they've heard the northern lights, - turns out I'm one. - Nebarik, on 05/08/2009, -1/+3so we should all pay attention to the dolphins incase they sense danger?
so long, and thanks for all the fish - drunkmonkey01, on 05/08/2009, -0/+1I was hoping it was aliens trying to communicate with us
- 03fb, on 05/08/2009, -0/+1Cosmic Snakes?
- brandizzle, on 05/19/2009, -0/+1No, it is not ironic at all actually. It's coincidental.
- skinny01, on 05/08/2009, -1/+2It's in the frakkin walls!
- insanebrain, on 05/08/2009, -0/+1nope.
- Meocross, on 05/08/2009, -0/+1So it explains that annoying vibrating voose i keep hearing all the time.
- Meocross, on 05/09/2009, -0/+1Ooo thanks *digg*
- hereticoftruth, on 05/10/2009, -0/+1Yes, I have also heard the static hiss of the northern lights but mostly I hear them just before I see the northern lights. Once the auroral display is going strong, I don't hear them any more. Concerning today's scientists not knowing what causes the background hiss and static, I think that has more to do with our poor educational system. I think that stuff was known before I was born.
- BalancingAct, on 05/08/2009, -0/+1You didn't even bother to read the report did you?
- HamstaMan, on 05/08/2009, -0/+1No that's just your tinnitus.
- Dove, on 05/08/2009, -0/+1Drat.
Granted, I knew I'd never hear it, I always thought Music of the Spheres would be more of an orchestral arrangement in nature. - SarahJaneQuick, on 05/09/2009, -0/+0As someone who hears the "hum", which for me is much more the way I imagine the "Om", or universal sound of the vedic tradition, I am (a) relieved I'm not going mad and (b) reet chuffed to find I'm hearing something 90% of the population are missing -- I am clearly one of the Chosen Ones who will be saved when (blue fin) tuna runs out and 2012 fries the London Olympics! The hum is soothing. When I turn my attention to it, it makes me happy. It's always there, like a giant cat purring -- and it has a pulse, which is different at different times of the day. This prob fits in with the ragas (rhythm notations) of Gandharva Veda as cognised by the ancient rishis in India -- if you also hear the hum, see if you agree with me, check out http://www.maharishi-gandharva.com/
- DrSnugglebunny, on 05/08/2009, -1/+1There's the hiss, but where's the cosmic boo?
- yourmomsnutz, on 05/09/2009, -1/+0cool!! man
- Kaloli, on 05/08/2009, -2/+0I think I heard the sound!
oh wait, it's my CPU noise...or is it? - yourmomsnutz, on 05/08/2009, -2/+0Oh.... the Field is going to give us an awesome show!! A MAJOR show!!

- toxsid, on 05/08/2009, -3/+0So....ok heres the theory:
The Alien Orchestra of The Universe decided to broadcast their music,
The Earth is a wireless speaker, but what the Aliens didn't account for is that the atmosphere is ******* magnetic and it causes a ***** storm of events like, tornadoes, volcanos, storms, bigger storms, women's breastestes poppin' out like gremlins, kids ice cream cones melted, and my shoes still smell like poo..
Some day they will come here and find what took place here and what caused the end of civilization, but my shoes will still smell pooish. - MaxChaplin, on 05/08/2009, -4/+0No, these are electromagnetic waves, not sound waves.
- phosphite, on 05/08/2009, -7/+1I CAN HAZ MAGNETIK FIELD?
