  • majordanger, on 08/25/2008, -0/+2Those white wings are some kind of low grade heat radiators. It's not clear to me what the 500+ sensors each wing seems to be is covered with actually do. Possibly vibration sensor for ground based launch simulations that will be remove before the actual launch.
    I guess what we need here is a real rocket scientist.

  • elnerdo, on 08/25/2008, -0/+2Not really. Most sci-fi representations don't make sense. For example, a lot of sci-fi spaceships have wings and aerodynamic shapes. Space ships don't need wings or aerodynamic shapes.

What this pseudo-state really needs is big collaboration project to build an X-wing inspired fleet of shuttles. I would happily part with my taxes for such a project it would definitely help me forget the exorbidant amount of British taxes going to redundant french farmers to pay for them to sit on their arses eating long lunches whilst mocking us silly Brits who have to rush our food in 30mins at Macdonald's because we are too busy working hard.

    The best sci-fi movie/TV space ship, 'best' as in good design, has to be the Borg cube ship, makes the most sense. No banking in turns, no wings, very sensible...except for the sounds it makes.

    The Clone Wars sucked. That a bit line in a movie can be extrapolated out into 3 craptastic movies and an 'animated adventure' on the subject is a testament to the weakness of the series and the gullibility and immaturity of its fan base.
