- azbmr, on 06/11/2009, -0/+26Seti@home has been around for MANY years and the Berkeley Open Infrastructure of Network Computing was a solid upgrade to allow other projects to get in on extra CPU cycles.
- jonxblaze, on 06/11/2009, -1/+19"All your PC are belong to us."
- jester55, on 06/11/2009, -1/+14You can get it here if interested: http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/
- yocouchdigga, on 06/11/2009, -0/+8what is this i dont even
I know I've said this before but your comments are so ***** awesome. - sockpuppets, on 06/11/2009, -3/+11If you live near mexico there's probably an alien taking your pc right now.
- TheDHC, on 06/11/2009, -1/+9I want to believe
- Thanatosbda, on 06/11/2009, -1/+8This is new? I was doing this 20 years ago!
- snkscore, on 06/12/2009, -0/+6Man... this is like from 1995 or something.
- TVarmy, on 06/11/2009, -0/+5... Are you trolling?
- bigrjsuto, on 06/11/2009, -1/+5It's a pretty cool feeling to (via my PC) look for intelligent life...
- roseap, on 06/11/2009, -2/+6Folding@Home > SETI@Home
- Diamndzngunz, on 06/11/2009, -4/+8Have not had a screensaver in a few years. This seems cool. Good find.
- billybillyboy, on 06/11/2009, -0/+4god dammit
- PrincePickle, on 06/12/2009, -0/+4No, CPU's don't wear out because of use but they can be damaged due to excessive heat. If you're not over clocking the CPU the stock cooling components on your PC will keep the CPU from being damaged, even under constant load. If you have a computer that slows to a crawl even with a fresh install of windows, it could be a lot of things.
- thecliffbar, on 06/11/2009, -2/+5you're not gonna find any here, that's for sure
- dudemoo22, on 06/12/2009, -1/+3Hey just so you know I mean really who believes that you can make this long of a run-on sentence with computers haha im just saying and I just wanted to tell you that im better and that I can tell when your comments are constructive criticism but i cant really by the way also
- Peekman, on 06/12/2009, -1/+3You..... confuse me.
- Navicerts, on 06/12/2009, -0/+2I think they probably do but the point is moot because the number of "miles" that your processor has FAR exceeds the life of other components and technology advances.
- PabloIV, on 06/11/2009, -0/+2I've been to the observatory about a half dozen times, and pictures seriously do not do it justice. If you come to PR please take the day trip to go see it. There's also an awesome cave park about 10 minutes from it which you can visit while on that part of the island.
- Culyt, on 06/12/2009, -0/+2I understand that recent discoveries have show radio is next to useless for finding intelligent life.
Need optical seti instead. - DeadFox1, on 06/12/2009, -0/+1Does an active processor burn out quicker than a processor that sits idle?
I've seen so many computers slow down to a crawl (due to overheating issues?) even AFTER re-imaging the hard drive with a fresh copy of windows. - TVarmy, on 06/11/2009, -1/+2Pedobear fits in every thread. Expect to see him with some random Star Trek quote within 24 hours on this thread.
- defmer, on 06/19/2009, -0/+1I have been running the app on my 4 comps since years now (3 yrs, 5 months and 12 days to be exact). I doubth if they will tell us even when they find one

This is today. So at least you don't have to wait very long. - Canadian0207, on 06/12/2009, -1/+2A good find?
Dude, SETI@Home has been out for like 10 years now. - thatsgoodkarma, on 06/12/2009, -0/+1Hell yeah, installed.
- Canadian0207, on 06/12/2009, -0/+1aka Folding@Home (determining how proteins fold according to their amino acid sequence)
- yaosio, on 06/11/2009, -3/+3Or you could do one that matters.
- AdmiralAcbar, on 06/12/2009, -1/+1Or you could do something useful, like Folding@home. Medical research > Aliens.
- inactive, on 06/12/2009, -2/+1Aliens. LOL!
- SoundJudgment, on 06/11/2009, -7/+4"But will it run Crysis?"
Awww, come on.. had to get that one out of the way, right? Hey, look, at least the Pedo-bear can't raid this thread!

<.< - 123bucklemyshoe, on 06/11/2009, -4/+1Haha no I don't think anything good is probably a virus but basically you know the saying if it's to good to be true it is? well you can apply that here basically I mean honestly who believes you can find aliens with a computer haha.
By the way thanks for the constructive criticism but I just wanted to tell you that to someone who can't tell it's constructive criticism it might sound mean but I can, tell that it's constructive criticism but still just so you know. - searcade, on 06/11/2009, -9/+2Wow there are so many comedians on Digg!
- aLuckyStar, on 06/11/2009, -9/+3But ET already told me to phone home...
- 123bucklemyshoe, on 06/11/2009, -17/+2I'm extremely interested in science and programming so take this from someone who probably knows maybe just a little more than you do about computers and such. I wouldn't ever get a program like this it's probably a virus lots of times viruses look like good software but they're actually just viruses it will be fine if you use a Mac computer but if you use a Windows computer then your computer might get infected with a virus which is a bad thing and it's kind of hard to remove viruses for people who don't know that much about computers so just a warning. And also honestly who would believe a program that says it looks for aliens haha but still I just wanted to warn you just in case you thought it was real.

What is Digg?
