- AmyVernon, on 07/21/2008, -2/+16I love this stuff. When I lived out west in Arizona, we drove to New Mexico once just to see the Very Large Array (if you saw the movie Contact, you know what I'm talking about)... Too cool.
- inactive, on 07/21/2008, -3/+14I am always hoping we find or hear something. UFO hunters was my favorite show for awhile!
- life38, on 07/21/2008, -3/+13The articles out lately are showing that intelligent life could have been stopped by a life triggering event. Is earth one of the few lucky places to have avoided such an event or was the event before Humans.
- inactive, on 07/21/2008, -2/+8lol wonder about THOSE roaming charges
- RealmDown, on 07/21/2008, -0/+5Please call collect.
- louiebaur, on 07/21/2008, -1/+6Right now there are teams all around the world searching the skies in an effort to prove the existence of intelligent life beyond our planet? Man I have been living under a rock I need to get with the program and join one of these teams and live life!
- thebrinkman, on 07/21/2008, -1/+4The aliens hate us. they aren't calling us back. we need to get over it.
- Zombi, on 07/21/2008, -0/+3Someone has to do it. We've been wondering for a long time. I'm not saying that they are going to find anything though. But it's worth the investment now that the technology exists (and will continue to improve). It's great that they are sharing this information with the public as well.
- FeartheKnighted, on 07/21/2008, -1/+3Merers? Jesus, learn how to spell. It took me 2 minutes to figure out you meant MIRRORS.
- Louis11, on 07/21/2008, -0/+2Discloser? Perhaps, Disclosure?
Hard to take the words of someone who can't spell simple words to heart . . . - goffy59, on 07/21/2008, -1/+3The aliens dumped us after they made the pyramids, they will never pick of their cell phone ever again! I wonder what those Egyptians did to piss them off? Take us back!

A very interesting incident. - inactive, on 07/23/2008, -0/+1If you haven't seen it before, I'd recommend watching the film " Evidence: The case for NASA UFOs".
In that film, David Sereda explains why the SETI project has yet to find anything; the radio frequencies they are searching with are at a very low level in the electromagnetic spectrum. If extra terrestrials had the technology to navigate the span of the universe, such a craft would require massive amounts of energy. So, in order to detect an object using energy of that magnitude, we'd have to be looking somewhere very high within the levels of the electromagnetic spectrum. Interestingly, many NASA missions using cameras looking into the upper ultra-violet spectrum have yielded UFOs.
Here's a link giving his explanation: http://youtube.com/watch?v=7TNeBs66ekI
The whole thing is available on Google Video. - flossdaily, on 07/21/2008, -1/+2Why are we looking for aliens via radiowaves? We might as well be looking for smoke signals. Any interstellar communication would have to be faster than the speed of light to be at all useful. Aliens are probably busy chattering away on some sort of instantaneous communication based on strange quantum effects that we haven't discovered yet.
You want to do something useful with your radio telescopes? Why not search the unexplored 97% of our solar system that might contain an asteroid that is on a collision course with the Earth? - Modestexcuse, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1Or did it already happen (including the destruction of earth) only we aren't quite there yet.
- RyanM, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1The movie Contact was based on the novel of the same name written by Carl Sagan. If any of you haven't heard about Mr. Sagan, I suggest you check him out. He's a great example of what a human being should be.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_sagan - linagee, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1maybe alien cell providers are not as greedy
- mlagana, on 07/21/2008, -1/+2ahh this is a wierd article kind of makes it sound like australia founded seti and this is all a new thing? when in actual fact, SETI has existed for along time, once funded by NASA. people have been listening to the stars for life for quite a while, our technology is speeding up the search greatly though which is exciting.
SETI wanted to put a bunch of dish's in one of australia's deserts a longg time ago, but it was deemed pointless and a waste of money. good to see it finally happen. - Rahmatullah, on 07/21/2008, -1/+1*cough* smokescreeen *cough*
- dracostimpy, on 07/21/2008, -2/+1I think if they did a remake of ET, that the best actor to play ET would have been Heath Ledger, because he really understands alienation. If you don't believe me, come see Dark Knight with me because I'd really like to watch it with someone else so we can talk about it afterward.
- erichansenchao, on 07/21/2008, -1/+0oh yeah i also wonder what happen to that little guy after he left?
- mrloci, on 07/21/2008, -3/+1its good to know they will be sharing their static

how about the ((discloser project))
burred as trash - inactive, on 07/21/2008, -11/+3Coming soon:
And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image of the beast...
