- Junkyarddawg, on 10/11/2007, -5/+38It's fake.
If you look at the EXIF info of the image, guess what it says?
Yes, you guessed it; Adobe Photoshop CS2 Macintosh.
Haha, he's upgraded - some of the older photos have been doctored with Photoshop Elements! - jermo, on 10/11/2007, -1/+24neat renderings, but the lighting is really bad, particularly in the second picture and the last picture
- Cwo655321, on 10/11/2007, -1/+21haha, innaccurate with 13 diggs and front page.
digg rules!!! - Dweller99, on 10/11/2007, -5/+17The cloud patterns are different.
- LaSepultura, on 10/11/2007, -3/+13I want to believe.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+11Bwhahaha. I hope aliens are better at 3ds max than this.
- polyGone, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10You think it would look more 'high-tech'....

Um... holy *****? - xVern, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Dude, its gas from the swamp refracting the light from Venus, obviously.
- LeadHead, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6I'm torn between my craving to believe in aliens and the fact that photoshop is awesome
- xXRobbyXx, on 10/11/2007, -5/+10how the hell did this junk end up on digg?
- Szat, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5"Get in the car Scully, we're going to Capitola, California".
- grahambrunk, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7I'm not seeing that when i look at the EXIF data.
- RareAir23, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6More images: http://www.coasttocoastam.com/gen/page2022.html?theme=light
- moocow1452, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5How come so many people think aliens exist, but UFO's are crazy man's talk?
- somnambulist, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5All that tells you is that the image was exported out of Photoshop, not that any manipulation was done in Photoshop.
- chemman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4interesting pics. I agree with polygone, the proportions look way off in a number of these pics (at least in the ones posted above by rareair23) making me believe they are faked.
If they aren't faked, then I believe the park ranger's monitoring device story would be pretty simple to verify, just check with the park. I would think any monitoring device they use would be commercially available so it shouldn't be that hard to find out. - sjbdallas, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6Yeah while a few look real, a few look fake which is enough to blow the whole concept. I almost fell for it based on the Flickr stuff.
- drmobutu, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4An Imperial Probe! He shoulda blasted it!
- RalphDibny, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5buried as innacurate...everyone knows UFOs are cigar-shaped
- lilredsammy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4SHENANIGANS!
- Fritzed, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4They are the same original image see the following composite
http://img513.imageshack.us/my.php?image=chadrajmanmay16zf0.png
You know why the UFO is in different places? That's because it wasn't actually there, he used the same photo twice as the basis of a fake. - Slacker1031, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3regardless of whether it's real or not, the design is very cool, and really makes you think.
- fiveyearswinter, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3It's a streetlight.
- kcpwnsgman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3DUDE you are one of them1!!! you don't know it.!!! look at the proof I have in this photo!!! something is coming out of the ground!!!! i think its an alien earth probe!!!
http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/4940/reinfconcretepoleic5.png - Hetman, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4I beleive in aliens I dont know if they have ever visited earth I personally dont think so however. The problem is that with todays technology reporting any real ufo sighting is going to be nearly impossible due to photoshop are many other techniques that can be used to fake a photo. But that is one of the neatest ufo pics i have seen.
- drgnfly84, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Maybe it wouldn't be crazy man's talk if the crazy men stopped marking up photos.
Just a thought. - mastahack, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2it doesnt have to make sense mannnnnnn. there, like aliens!!!! mannnnn
- ganjadude4391, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2hence the definition of a "drone" ship
we use drones we send drones to other planets, is it REALLY that hard to believe other beings could not have sent this thing into the vastness of space and is doing recon like we do with the planets in our solar system? - xVern, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Yeah, because you know some aliens, right?
- LordBalderdash, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4these are not even *good* fakes.
you can't shoot a low-flying object in bright sky with sun overhead and have the bottom of the object light enough to see that kind of detail without blowing out the sky. - Paintwiz, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3The writing on it is japanese katakana script. Maybe they're japanese aliens!
- djAnakin, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Or maybe they were resized in Photoshop... just like it says on the site.
Oh, also. Um. No. If this was real, does anyone here really believe it would be used by park rangers to look for fires?
Fake. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5looks fake to me
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Actually he is pretty good at it, at least in the shots with the telephone pole.
- kcpwnsgman, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4I was wondering where the inaccurate warning was...
anyway:
"It is almost totally silent but not quite. It makes kind of "crackling" noises. It's hard to describe them but they are only intermittent and not very loud, but you can notice them. Sometimes there is a very slight hum that sounds kind of mechanical, almost like when you are near very large power lines."
http://www.earthfiles.com/Images/news/C/ChadRajman16May16.jpg
gee, maybe thats what those noises are, power lines - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2could people expand on why they look fake -- reality is not as glossy as hollywood movies, and the faded colors on those images are supposed to represent atmospheric haze caused by distance and humidity. i personally think he did a really good job at rendering and touching these up
although i didn't have to look at the exif data to work out they were fake -- the cheesy design and the fact he owns a g5 mac were enough of a hint... - ganjadude4391, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1im not saying that they are real, more than likely they are fake, all im saying is it really isnt that hard to believe that there is more than likely life out there somewhere
- thestorey, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Damn your blogspam!
- r1y23, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Damn squirrels and their new fangled silent hovering technology......
- Silthrim, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2The weird jibberish on the underside of the "wing" probably translates to "I made this in Photoshop" in his own language.
- xcbxcb, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Who told you that "lamesauce" was clever?
They're not your friend. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1This isn't cool, this property was stolen from me, it was my futuristic UFO art piece I had in my living room. This jerk tossed it up in the air to take pics. Give it back!
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1...and its off the front page...
Looks fake, but you never know. - Hetman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I know it sux i get tricked to going to dumb ass sites all the time these days.
- ElliotShoe, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2could have been unmanned dimwit... it's fake anyways
- grahambrunk, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Do you really think aliens in reality would be just like what we see in movies??
- drmobutu, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Looks like an alien banjo...
- ween101, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I'd hate to be anal probed with that
- wheresjim, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1You know if this was by the beach he was probably just looking for parking..
