- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13Huuuuuge defeat for Flat Earthers!
Huge - anonatron, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10Is this really that surprising? Don't get me wrong, I am as glad to see proof of earth-like planets as the next guy, but there are an unfathomable amount of stars with an equally unfathomable amount of planets orbiting them. The odds are far better to find one like our own that to not find any.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+12I just want to say that ever since I was abducted by aliens, I have been looking for some pay back.
You can count on me sir! - vapblack, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8So an Earth like planet may have existed in the Universe some millions of years ago?
And with all the +trillions of stars out there there MAY be more Earth like planets????? WOW THAT'S NEWS!!! - h4mx0r, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7In the words of my generation: UP YOURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Pfhreak, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3"I find it hard to understand their logic" That's your problem right there, you're assuming there's logic buried somewhere in their idiotic ideas.
- tydas, on 10/10/2007, -6/+9I mean really, anyone that thinks there is not life somewhere else in this vast universe is , well, stupid...
- mstachiw, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Uhoh now there will be US sanctions against stars harboring earthlike planets
- N10E, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3No change what so ever, they'll just claim its made up and part of the conspiracy. I find it hard to understand their logic... at first I just thought it was a troll group... after doing some research I'm actually afraid of their stupidity. You could take these morons into outer space, fly around the planet and they'd still believe the earth is flat and claim it was faked in some sort of simulation.
- unrequited, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I have a strange feeling in a year they'll discover... it's not Earth-like planets... IT IS EARTH and other planets of Sol!
DAMNED DIRTY APES!!! - yingjai, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I agree. I always thought it was kinda absurd they thought planets like Earth were rare just because they couldn't find any in close proximity to our solar system.
- bizzay, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Buh - zing!
- CosmicJustice, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2"The fact that the asteroid is so similar in make-up to the Earth, as well as the moon, indicates that rocky planets like our own may have orbited the star eons ago, Jura said."
Maybe some rocky planets once existed around a burned out star. The article says nothing about water or oxygen or anything other than rock. Nor is there any evidence presented that the rocky elements were ever formed into planets. Maybe they were and maybe they weren't. Why does any of this matter? What is it supposed to prove? - glimp7, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Oh boy, I can't wait to leave the milky way in five billion years.
- Stratochief66, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1He might not, but his ego likely does.
- hanksname, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I thought it was always physorg.com on the front page. They seem to have their whole marketing department on digg voting things up.
- Afreyt, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1My first thought was Scott Baio, but then he wouldn't have enough gravity to hold onto planets.
- frimple, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Man, what the ***** is up with reuters? Does it take forever to load for anyone else? And it's every goddamn story of theirs that gets to the front page! Jesus, I thought they were a big news corporation, you would think their servers could handle a few diggers.
- WeneBraden, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I just invent, then wait until man comes around to needing what I've invented.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -4/+4Why are people digging you down? He speaks the truth.
- maz2331, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Great. An example of what our plantet's gonna be in a few billion years.
- KingGorilla, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0DId anyone else think this was going to be about the cast of the surreal life?
