- jmgoody311, on 11/28/2007, -5/+30Thanks to the vacuum of space, this picture could quite literally be breathtaking!
- Renton, on 11/28/2007, -1/+23I can see the line that separates time zones.
- bobbyschultz, on 11/28/2007, -3/+22I love this pic...
Except this is the third time I have seen it on Digg's front page. - Crath, on 11/28/2007, -1/+10Go out into space and get me a clear picture then... bitch.
- tcpip4lyfe, on 11/28/2007, -2/+9There's too much ocean on this planet. Takes up prime real estate.
- graaaag, on 11/28/2007, -0/+6i believe the ionian sea is between the locrian sea and the dorian sea.
- ferrariman60, on 11/28/2007, -0/+4well, you have the internet at you disposal. Find it. If you're particularly observant, you'll notice the heel and toe of Italy's boot to the left.
- McBradd, on 11/28/2007, -0/+4Yes, If you get to the Phrygian, you've gone to far.
- perseon, on 11/28/2007, -0/+4From this perspective the clouds look like they're almost touching the ground.
- Sozzi, on 11/28/2007, -2/+5we get one of these "breathtaking photos" about every week. maybe if they had astronauts punching asteroids...
- Tyrghast, on 11/28/2007, -0/+3is that italy? it really is a giant boot! watch out Sicily...
- GThrift, on 11/28/2007, -0/+3Dugg for making me laugh out loud
- inactive, on 11/28/2007, -1/+4doesn't seem much fragile to me
- lewikee, on 11/28/2007, -0/+3At that scale, they almost are.
- noahhoward, on 11/28/2007, -0/+3Don't worry it's technically over the Mediterranean.
- Gogogo111, on 11/28/2007, -2/+4Good pun.
- themastersb, on 11/28/2007, -0/+2Boooooo! Get off the stage!
- chess10, on 11/28/2007, -0/+2Holy s---, That's my picture on Digg! And I added it like 3 months ago! Wow!
- wilhoitm, on 11/28/2007, -0/+1Where is the bathroom?
- UtopiaInTheSky, on 11/28/2007, -1/+2It's not sarcasm if it's true.
- GThrift, on 11/28/2007, -0/+1Yea, I was trying to figure out if there as a tsunami or something then I had one "oh, duh" moments and realized they were isolated clouds.
- pseudononymist, on 11/28/2007, -0/+1Someone needs to clean his lens
- chaos7, on 11/28/2007, -1/+2awesome pic
- bzaks, on 11/28/2007, -0/+1Will someone PLEASE fire the ion torpedoes at those satellites for obstructing my view?
- asmallgenius, on 11/28/2007, -0/+1This comment actually made me laugh out loud! Dugg!
- fishbert, on 11/28/2007, -0/+1no, you may not be the first one
- undy242, on 11/28/2007, -0/+1Looks like the photographer accidentally obstructed the picture with his finger near the top of the lens...I hate when that happens!
- oMeSSiaHo, on 11/28/2007, -0/+1But what about the mixolydian... nm, I ruined it.
- bosssmiley, on 12/01/2007, -0/+0Kindasortamaybeyeah colonelbushshot.
What *really* impresses me is the idea that neurotic bald apes like us have enough brains and co-operative ability to get something like that massive aluminium dragonfly into planetary orbit. Not bad going for a species that had barely mastered steam technology 300 years ago. - cancanakan, on 12/09/2007, -0/+0This is so cool and looked very nice in my dual 24' Samsungs as a background
- GaidinTS, on 11/28/2007, -1/+1I've actually swam in it.
- zonker77, on 11/28/2007, -1/+1Aww come on, it has been nearly 10 days since this was on the front page, it was due again.
Could somebody post the link to the site where we collect the pop tabs for the kid with cancer? I think that usually gets posted along with this picture. - inactive, on 11/28/2007, -1/+1someone's been playing a little too much hl2
- mydave, on 07/28/2008, -0/+0this pic is amazing! it's so interesting to see our space.

http://www.trgovinca.org - Deecon, on 11/28/2007, -0/+0It's not the Earth that's fragile. It's us.
- Typhoon2009, on 11/28/2007, -2/+1Agreed with the clean lenses or whatever. We can send men to the moon, build research stations in space, yet we can't take crystal clear photos. And what's that big spiky looking thing at the top of the picture? Looks like a leg of an HL2 Strider.
- 3tcp, on 11/28/2007, -2/+1Not breathtaking. Photos are lame
- Thex1138, on 11/28/2007, -2/+1Does NASA always use dirty lenses in space..open the image in an editor and increase the contrast...all these little blobs appear in the frame..mostly in the bottom right corner of the image...clean ya lenses will ya chaps :-)
- wvdavis, on 11/28/2007, -2/+1If you look close enough you can see Bari.
- Deecon, on 11/28/2007, -1/+0You can post on Digg from the Endeavour? *gigantic rolling eyes here*
- colonelbuckshot, on 11/28/2007, -5/+2These pictures are awesome, you get a real sense of the beauty and fragility of Earth, and a sense of wanting to take care of our planet.
- codecomposer, on 11/28/2007, -9/+4If you look closely, you can see pixel-wide vertical lines running the length of earth in the picture. This must be fake.
- BalsamLane, on 11/28/2007, -7/+2Where is Ionia?
- inactive, on 11/28/2007, -6/+0may I be the first one to say.............................. SHOPPED!!!!!!
- danconia, on 11/28/2007, -9/+3Awesome, now if only I knew where the Ionian Sea is...
