- DeskFlyer, on 03/01/2008, -1/+135Time lapse is a form of cinematography; this is just a long exposure photograph Still very cool though. :)
- hello2usir, on 03/01/2008, -1/+71Stars? Or LASER TORNADO
- MakiMaki, on 03/01/2008, -1/+53Beautiful in a strange way.. it really reminds me of Van Gogh's swirly stars.

- inactive, on 03/01/2008, -3/+24God dropped acid.
- coheedcollapse, on 03/01/2008, -4/+21THERE we go. This is an amazing picture Unlike those damn HDR photos it actually takes an idea of what the hell you're doing to make this sort of magic. Cool composition as the bottom goes too. Just the right amount of land and house.
- superal1394, on 03/01/2008, -0/+16Nah, outright beautiful.
Right click so the context menu shows up in the middle of the swirls, notice how it looks like an hourglass?
Just a cool optical illusion I noticed. - Tyrghast, on 03/01/2008, -1/+15Contrary to popular belief, DucoNihilum is not an expert on all matters.
- SlapAyoda, on 03/01/2008, -4/+17Much better than those retarded HDR pictures that get posted here every week.
- carguy84, on 03/01/2008, -2/+15I'm not calling BS yet, but why isn't the window blown out with that much light on the inside, for an exposure that must have been about 6 hours or so.
- TizzleDizz, on 03/01/2008, -1/+14Please excuse me while I take a drug test.
- univerio, on 03/01/2008, -0/+11Too much IRC.
- canoodle, on 03/01/2008, -2/+11.... You've just crossed over into... the Twilight Zone.
- nyeus, on 03/01/2008, -1/+9Oh Great, I've gone Crosseyed.
- tfletch, on 03/01/2008, -4/+12☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
- hogfoot, on 03/01/2008, -1/+9no airplane streaks?
- Tyrghast, on 03/01/2008, -2/+10Seeing as how the US has a much larger population and a higher percentage of internet users, most people you find on teh tubes will not speak your funny talk Johnny English.
- worthone, on 03/01/2008, -0/+712 stars – out of 10?
- JLecker, on 03/01/2008, -1/+8My God, it's full of... circles?
- Mjuboy, on 03/01/2008, -0/+7The light was probably only switched on for a small duration during the exposure of the photo.
- NovaCloud, on 03/01/2008, -4/+11xbox 360 viral marketing
- bthug7, on 03/01/2008, -0/+6I wanna know who MrBabyman is. Do you have any info? He dominates the front page, I'm not complaining, just wondering if he has a job.
- Dimah, on 03/01/2008, -0/+6The light might have only been on for an hour or so...?
- Jiggles1875, on 03/01/2008, -0/+6Damn, how long was the shutter open, and that aperture. I must know! :)
- meteors, on 03/01/2008, -0/+6Yep, unless this is from the southern hemisphere.
By the way, there's no "South Star". Astrophotographers down there have to really know what they're doing to line up on the celestial pole. - hogfoot, on 03/01/2008, -1/+71/4 of a revolution so....6 hour exposure
- tghd, on 03/01/2008, -1/+7This is actually a composition of a lot of pictures taken one after another and combined later in photoshop. Super long digital exposures suffer from serious noise issues. Its far better to take many 15 to 30 second photos, and use other noise reducing methods to get a complete photo. Its not BS but its also not "real". As a proof of concept its good but I have seen many other star-trail shots that leave this one begging to be recomposed.
- KGtheway2B, on 03/01/2008, -0/+5That was a really still night... No wind in those trees at all!
- kholburn, on 03/01/2008, -1/+6It's not a full rotation. It's about a quarter of a rotation ie 6 hours. That said it would require an unusual but not impossible place to minimise light pollution.
- inactive, on 03/01/2008, -0/+5Wow, you are so absolutley right. I must admit, in recent days I had begun to underestimate the beauty and power of the great mystery. God, I'm such an idiot sometimes. Luckily Digg is here to remind me that life isn't so banal. Now on to the next front page story, "Alien strip club ad."
- inactive, on 03/01/2008, -1/+5Something tells me its a composite of multiple images, the light from the house would have burned in alot, this has really none. House would have been brighter too.
- bbgundrum, on 03/01/2008, -0/+4Right click for an optical illusion
- DarkerMaster, on 03/01/2008, -1/+5Its Sucking me in!!!
- BestJaxx, on 03/01/2008, -0/+4This would make one bad ass puzzle.
- Philbert, on 03/01/2008, -0/+4"Starry Night"
- StatiK69, on 03/01/2008, -1/+5I remember a pic like this ages ago in a high school earth science class. Suddenly I feel vintage!
Seriously though, absolutely beautiful pic. MrBabyMan finds some of the nicest pics. - diggimator, on 03/01/2008, -0/+4it would be cool if digg gave "/me" lines special formatting...
- inactive, on 03/01/2008, -0/+4It's not time-lapse.
- easyone, on 03/01/2008, -0/+4Makes for a trippy little desktop wallpaper.
- apollomurga, on 03/01/2008, -0/+4is the one in the center the north star?
- fkr3, on 03/01/2008, -1/+5Oh right... with your education system and impressive ability to render literacy obsolete shouldn't it be airplain?
- remotehuman, on 03/01/2008, -2/+6Computer: 1200 dollars. Photoshop: 400 dollars. fooling everyone on the internet: priceless
- Philbert, on 03/01/2008, -0/+3Sure shots like this are possible, but I don't buy this one. How come the tree leaves are so sharp? There would have to be not only a slow wind but no atmosphere at all!
- PeppermintPig, on 03/01/2008, -0/+3It could be taken in a rural area with less pollution. As for the light, it could have been turned on at the last second. Perhaps even a photo composite after the fact. Possibly a high aperture as well.. but I'm not the camera operator and won't assume to know how exactly it was done. It's a neat photograph. Moving along now...
- mtosspot, on 03/01/2008, -0/+3It's a shame a link to the flickr page for this photo isn't provided. I'd like to look at more of this photographers work.
- borez, on 03/01/2008, -0/+3God ( being the inventor of all things ) has no need to pop a tab
- saintsfan, on 03/01/2008, -0/+3yet surprisingly, no one cares
- remotehuman, on 03/01/2008, -1/+4it goes in the air, its a plane. its an airplane. simple.
