- Kohaxx, on 04/09/2008, -0/+27I wonder which one of us will be the evil twin.
- inactive, on 04/09/2008, -1/+28...and said that he expected habitable planets would be found in the next few years. - Finally I can get outta here.
- sagien, on 04/09/2008, -1/+21Bizarro Earth?
- snapcase, on 04/09/2008, -1/+14dupe.... bbc article was up on the top 10 on digg two days ago.
- DiarrheaBear, on 04/09/2008, -1/+13Sadly, the twin pluto also gets no love.
- jcaino, on 04/09/2008, -0/+8dupe article....and comment!
http://digg.com/space/Solar_System_s_look_alike_fo ... - deltaandroid, on 04/09/2008, -0/+8I would say that they should send out a group of people towards every semi habitable planet, and that I think would give the human race a substantial chance at surviving even the destruction of earth.
- nonchai, on 04/09/2008, -0/+7all these daily mail postings are suspect. i suspect some daily mail employees are fixing things. the Daily Mail is a crap paper.
- gmiley, on 04/10/2008, -0/+7You know, like Danny De Vito and Arnold Schwarzenegger "Twins"...
- saxreturns, on 04/09/2008, -0/+7I suppose it depends on which solar system has the greater proportion of people with goatees.
- GothAlice, on 04/10/2008, -0/+7Statistically it's the ONLY way to survive the destruction of Earth, which has a probability of 100%. It will happen, thus we MUST diversify across the stars.
- chubbybubba, on 04/09/2008, -1/+8I refuse to live in a reality with 2 rosie odonnels. We must all be destroyed!
- DiarrheaBear, on 04/09/2008, -0/+6Damn you beat me to it.
Now I'm spending the rest of the day trying to make a better joke. - macromage, on 04/09/2008, -2/+8old new this was here yesterday.
- RustyJ, on 04/09/2008, -1/+6two planets? Check. Half scale replica of the sun? Check. Sumbitch mussbe a twin!
- Nanobe, on 04/10/2008, -0/+5All we have to do is travel at the speed of light for a few thousand years. What's so hard about that?
- zephyear, on 04/09/2008, -0/+4i said this in the post from YESTERDAY
holy *****
***** - ijacker, on 04/09/2008, -0/+4ooh ohh... i KNOW this one...
- Fungus53, on 04/10/2008, -0/+3I HATE the Daily Mail.
- stevenstclair, on 04/10/2008, -0/+3Another Day, Another Earth-Like Planet/Solar System discovered...blah
- inactive, on 04/10/2008, -0/+2St. Andrews is really churning out observational astronomy findings, just last week we had the 'youngest planet' thing; and as a university they have the most exoplanets to their name.
- weister42, on 04/09/2008, -1/+3Maybe it's a planet full of deer.
- searcade, on 04/09/2008, -0/+2I think i saw this on livescience a few days ago...
- Onyxblaze, on 04/09/2008, -2/+4Thank... whoever
- balgarath, on 04/09/2008, -0/+2I'm in, lets do this!
- deltaandroid, on 04/09/2008, -0/+2doesn't this seem to happen weekly?
- AvangionQ, on 04/10/2008, -0/+2"So far researchers have identified two planets very similar to Jupiter and Saturn, which orbit a star about half the size of the Sun around 5,000 light-years away. // "There should be other similar systems out there which could host terrestrial planets." // So far astronomers have found nearly 300 planets beyond our own solar system. The new system orbits the star OGLE-2006-BLG-109L which is about 5,000 light-years away. // But according to Dr Dominik, astronomers' investigations are currently hampered by limited techniques." ... even with limited techniques, to find over 300 extra-solar planets is an impressive feat -- but what will be truly groundbreaking is the discovery of `nearby` small rocky worlds with liquid water on their surface and a nitrogen-oxygen atmosphere similar to our own ...
- Mootabolife, on 04/10/2008, -0/+2And we shall name our half size twin... Danny DeVito.
- searcade, on 04/10/2008, -0/+2im not sure just got dejavu
- expert01, on 04/10/2008, -0/+2Or goatses. But don't forget, bender's twin had a goatee and wasn't evil.
- mecharabbit, on 04/10/2008, -0/+2I am proposing a theory that this twin solar system is where my lost socks end up when I do my laundry.
- DiarrheaBear, on 04/10/2008, -0/+2Or you could just destroy the rosies...
Sounds easier. - Pegasus_Strain, on 04/10/2008, -1/+3This articles twin was posted two days ago.
- ZaZ2137, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1...rule 34...
- cheekybastard, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1Nuke 'em now before they find us.
- Bactame, on 04/12/2008, -0/+1There are nearby instances also in the Gliese catalog as close as 20 light years. I agree that finding ones furthur off ain't all that interesting but knowing about whats up is pretty good.
- phoque, on 04/09/2008, -5/+6Half the size of the Sun?... Very twin-like...
- TonyLocNE, on 04/10/2008, -1/+2*full of delicious deer..
- arkivx, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1Thats what they want you to think.....
- CountryTime, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1all of them look pretty similar to me...stars surrounded by more star looking things
- deltaandroid, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1'Universe' is defined as containing all that exists, therefore we cant go to another 'Universe'
- expert01, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1That's like saying my friend's grandmother and Pamela Anderson must be twins because they both have huge *****. DOES NOT COMPUTE!!!
- sagien, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1Maybe I'm Bizzarro you?
What'd you expect, the article, first comment and the entire solar system has been duped. - TonyLocNE, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1let them have the moon, we aren't really going to be living there anyways.. Mars will presumably be our first colony on another planet. (and yes I know the moon is not a planet, but that's not what I am getting at)
- unknamed, on 04/09/2008, -1/+2Was it here?? Or was it..... there??
- uiguy3, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1too bad it would take you a lifetime to get there.
- stormgren, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1It'll be like Firefly. Sounds fun.
- 355CJ, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1But 1 Rosie is already the size of 2 people!
Does that count?
I'm SURE I couldn't take 4 of her. Could the world? Would there be any carpet left? - j1ggy, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1Very cool. All we need now is a way to travel so we can actually see these planets.
- MasterThief117, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1Err, is there a jellyfish in the background that was blended in?
